Hmmmm. The deep, true, absolute reasons for wanting to get in shape.... hmmmm.
lets see. First and foremost I want to get into shape for competitive performance.
Better marathon times. Less fatigue through endurance training.
And last... I want to have the body I work for through fitness... But can only be obtained through nutrition.
Now I see the light!!!0 -
I'm going to University and I want to change and not be 'the fat girl' I was in secondary school.
Also want to be an actress and I'm aware that casting directors want you to 'look the part' and being slightly heavier won't get me doing the roles and the type of theater I want to do.0 -
I've gained 20 pounds and can't fit into my summer clothes anymore. I'm tired of wearing the same 3 outfits to work.0

Most people feel the way you do. Sad but true...0

I miss roller coasters, I miss not worrying about chairs with arm rests, I want to zip line, I'm tired of checking weight limits on various exercise equipment, and I miss feeling confident and comfortable in my body. I'm tired of the social stigma, which means that even though I've lost 60 pounds, strangers would have no way of knowing that and probably assume I'm a lazy fatty who stuffs her face and increases their insurance premiums. I feel like I should wear a shirt that says, "I'VE LOST 60 POUNDS", but then I wonder why I even care what other people think. I want to stop that cycle.
Also, even though I know he loves me and adores me and honestly does not care about my weight, I want to feel more attractive to my boyfriend. I don't flirt with him as much as I want to because I feel so disgusting and don't think I'm sexy. The more weight I lose, the more confident I get, but I'm still verrrrry shy and often second-guess myself. I can't wait to reach a weight where I won't feel like a moron wearing a sexy nightgown. I want to look like a woman, not like a fetish ad.0 -
Cause I feel like crap when I'm out of shape and not exercising.0

I want to FEEL Sexy!!! And, I want to be healthy.0

My kids. They won't be the one with a fat mama anymore. And also I'm a lay speaker for my church. I want to be confident enough to stand up and preach without wondering if they are listening to my words or thinking about how fat I am!0

To look good and feel good inside and out.

My health issues (high blood pressure, depression, etc) and just wanting to feel good in my own skin again.0
-
Because I've gained 1 lb a year for 20 years and that is NOT a good path to be on when I think what I would be like at 65 (20 more years) if I don't change.0

Hi all. First time poster here! I want to get into shape because I am 50 years old and want to keep nastiness caused by being overweight away from me! I do cardio and strength training to stave off osteoporisis and when I have less weight on me, I don't have to take medicine for my GERD. I don't necessarily want to get "in shape" but I very definitely want to be healthy.
I'm an old fart who doesn't want to feel that way!
God Bless!0 -
Last fall, I was diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. My liver was being damaged due to the fact that I was overweight and eating a very poor diet. My cholesterol was high too. I'm only in my early 20s!
I didn't want to end up needing a liver transplant. The diagnosis was a huge wake up call that I really needed and that I was lucky to get sooner rather than later.
I had yo-yo dieted throughout my teens and during college, but now I know this MUST be permanent. Maintaining a healthy weight and a healthy lifestyle is no longer an option for me - it is a mandate. I want to live a long, healthy life.0 -
Also because for the first time in my life I want to love my body. I went thru a divorce 3 years ago after 10 yrs of marriage and two kids. It was a shot to my self confidence that I havent gotten back yet. I want to like myself again period! I also want to keep up with my 12 and 8 yr old boys who play every sport and love it when I get out there and play with them.
And of course I want to rock a bikini and look smoking hot, its time to get out there and get a new man ha ha0 -
I want to be considered muscular, but skinny, and to have people comment that I should eat more. A bit weird, but the truth. I really want a flatter belly.0
