I'm not sure if they're really or if they just look it to me. I'm not even sure how you work on your hip/butt/thigh area but I need to do something!

Thanks, I still feel like they're big!0

Well if you find out how to slim them down please tell me haha!
Mine are huge! I darent post a pic because they're massive0 -
LOL ok I will when I find out the secret to it haha!0

Ahhhh, welcome fellow pear shape!
Seriously though, blame genetics for this one. Only thing I've found that works the "saddle bag" area is leg lifts, squats, and lunges. Basically anything that will work your bum and legs will eventually work it's way to your outer thigh/hip. But it'll take time. That's where your body likes to keep it's fat, so that's where it'll lose it from last.
Good luck!0 -
Hi,
Thei'r fine, propotional to the rest of your body, and you cant do nothing to that, its genetics, you can lower body fat in that area by lower your estrogen levels, but im not into that area.0 -
Squats and lunges. But you can do a million of them and still feel like your hips are "huge". What you also need is to look at yourself a little more realistically.0
-
I used to not have this problem. I swear I hit 30 and BAM there is was lol! :laugh:0
-
you look fine now we all wish we looked like you but keep us posted on the hip slimming dilema0
-
Are you fishing? You're a woman with a feminine hot shape. Hips aren't a bad thing!0
-
I guess I have just never had hips like this. They seriously appeared out of nowhere!0
-
1. You can't spot reduce fat. Lose fat in general and your body chooses where from.
2. You're hips don't look that big.
3. That's your natural body shape. It's sexy. Embrace it, don't fit it.
4. My hips/*kitten* are 41".0 -
I feel the same way about my belly. I've always had a larger bum and legs, but at least I had a GREAT waist. Now... not so much0

:noway: DAMN GIRL0

I'm a pear too and am very slowly and frustratingly realizing the above. Its where my body is happy keeping its fat and its a fight to get the fat off. I do squats, butt bridges, lunges, and donkey kicks every single day in an effort to try to "encourage" more muscle than fat in those areas. I can feel the muscle increasing under the fat so I can only assume its just a matter of time before I win the battle!0 -
Just as long as they don't lie, everything will be fine.0
-
Are you fishing for compliments?0
-
No really though...how do you slim your hips down? lol!
Get different parents0 -
Nope not fishing for compliments. lol about as long as they dont lie. I just wondered if you could slim that area down is all.0

Mine IS truly huge. I am always very harsh on my self because of this - I eat very junky oily fatty food items and it piles on my hips ofcourse!! Also genetics play a factor and all the women in my family are very curvy.
but I realized that through diet (very much through diet) it helps reduce the saddle bags and chunkiness from the hips
I will do my best to eat healthy and exercise but instead of being harsh on myself, I will love my curves and work with it
P.S - you shouldn't be complaining about yours hips they look very womanly and great!0 -
I didn't have hips until I had the mini (he's 10 months now)... you don't look like you're holding excess fat in your hips- as PPs pointed out, you look like a pretty ideal pear.
Strength training to tighten things up if you're really unhappy with your body comp, but you look great to me!0 -
Yes, I am working on toning and tightening that are up and gaining some muscle.0
-
Just as long as they don't lie, everything will be fine.
Hahahahahaha....that one was really funny!!0 -

Exactly.
JustAGirl0916, you need to lower your bf% and to hit deep squats and deadlifts. You need to work them and you will build muscle and lose fat with a solid diet. You won't spot reduce but you will lose fat overall.
I think the OP just wants slimmer/ firmer legs. Doing the above will achieve this.

Thanks alot...I have been working on squats. New to working out so will have to see what deadlifts are lol. Sad huh?0 -
What you should do is a lot of wide grip pullups and other exercises to work your lats so then you can have a really beefy upper body. Then your hips will look super narrow! It's all about proportions.0
