I cut it in half sprinkle it with spices like sea salt and black pepper or whatever and then eat it with a spoon! One of my fave snacks!

Cut avocado in half, remove the pit, crack an egg into the pit hole and bake in oven until the egg is cooked how you like your eggs and then top with salsa before serving....yummy breakfast.

    this sounds fabulous!!!

A REALLY good recipe for breakfast that includes avocado is as follows:

    Layer in this order;
Toasted Whole Wheat english muffin half
    Slices of fresh avocado
Hashbrowns(optional, its still great without it)
A poached or over easy egg(salt and pepper to taste)
    Fresh lettuce and spinach
Drizzle of balsalmic vinegar on top

It is so rediculously good! I hope you try it.

I need this in my life

A lot of good ideas here.
I tend to add mine to breakfast.
I will do a plain cheese omelette, with usually a chicken breast sliced.
    maybe a biscuit.

The ways you can use it are endless.
I know that at the deli where I work, there are lots of people that add it as a spread for their sandwiches.
This is a great way to introduce yourself to it.
You also might try some of the recipes that are listed here from other members as well as asking some of your local eateries how they would use it.
I know that while I was in school for Culinary arts that we did not use them that much, most people were just not that creative.
I also have been know to grab a box of Triscuts (Cracked Black Pepper) and a fresh tomato and combine the three and have that for breakfast.
Good Luck in finding ways to eat them!

I don't know if I already replied to this or not....I'm not going back to look.

I  avocado. I eat it sliced or cubed with either:

    Salt and pepper
    Salt, pepper and lime juice
    Cilantro and lime juice
Black beans, tomato, cilantro, lime juice and green onions
    On a veggie burger

Don't like the taste of avocado? How about a delicious chocolate pudding? Palao, even, and a great way to make those 1200 calories (or whatever your goal is--I'm just teasing about the 1200--you know when people say they can't make it, they haven't tried this!).

I follow this board on pinterest. I think avocado is best used in any type of sandwich replacing mayo. I love it on toast in the morning by itself with garlic powder or salsa. I use it in my breakfast burritos or veggie burritos also. My mom used to always make me a bowl of milk, avocado & some sugar, but you could replace that with honey.

I should add that, it was my first avocado. It may be an acquired taste, like with coffee, onions, shrimp, and many other foods.

You also have to make sure it isn't under ripe or over ripe. When it is just right, it is smooth and creamy with a rich, fatty (the good kind!) flavor

Oh, and guac is the best! I like adding the flesh of a cucumber to mine. Lightens it up a bit.

I made chocolate pudding with avocado's for my kids. It actually tasted better than the Jello brand. I was very impressed. However I'm super allergic to them so all I got to have was a taste.

    guacamole is the best
cut up some celery and carrots and dip to your heart's content - yum!
I use 2 ripe avocados, some garlic, juice of a lime, coriander (fresh) and chilli to taste - mash up with a fork or use blender if you like it smoother :-)
