I just went to a Pure Romance party a couple weeks ago. They have a product, small steel balls about the size of marbles. The idea is to use those to help strengthen the muscles.
And that's all I'll say about that.
These are called Ben Wa balls--they are used quite a few time in the Shades of Grey series Not sure if they're strictly for strengthening muscles, but they sure gave the main character loads of fun
who is this Ben we speak of? and how did he get balls named after him..lol0 -
I found just the guys to help you out

I was diagnosed with Pelvic organ prolapse after the birth of my 2nd child. The doctor had me doing kegels like crazy and they didn't do much for helping. I started to search on my own and came across 2 products that have made a world of difference.
1 - Habit - Pelvic floor exercise DVD
http://www.amazon.com/Hab-It-Pelvic-Tasha-Mulligan/dp/0510539610/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1367503045&sr=8-3&keywords=habit+dvd
2 - Vaginal Exerciser (Currently it is only showing the "light" resistance ones, I bought the stronger ones but I am having trouble finding them)
http://www.amazon.com/GyneFlex-VTP-R-Light-Strength/dp/B001EK460U/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367503114&sr=8-1&keywords=gyneflex
Between the 2 of those and the general weight loss and increased fitness level I have greatly reduced leakage. I can sneeze with ease but I still think I would stay off of a trampoline.
Thanks, I will check these out!!0 -
talk to your doctor. if you want to do vaginal weights or ben wa balls, that's great, but they are more for strengthening the vagina after births, or just for more stimulation w/ your partner. they will help leakage SOME, but since women have the birth canal and the urethra seperated, and if it's a bladder or urethra condition, the help that vaginal strength will offer will be minimal.
there are prescription options that will help your bladder, and there are vitamins that help you to retain collagen. the lining of the bladder is mostly collagen and if you're starting to lose that, then you could lose some bladder function too.
but definitely talk to your doctor.0 -
I've seen them sold at some pharmacys, and seem to remember watching a program where three different types of pelvic floor exercises were done... The vagina weights (or whatever you call them) had the best results. If I were you I'd give them a try. It's not going to hurt you.0

I can't even imagine what that is. Kegels usually get the job done.0

Lol@ the people getting offended.
Words are scaarrryyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!0 -
Thanks for all the replies, both the serious and the funny ones...my coworkers are wondering why I'm laughing out loud when I'm supposed to be working.
I told them I was doing some "medical research"...
Gotta get to work for now, but will check on this later!!
Thanks again!!0 -
Not uncomfortable, but thinking "ask your doctor" not MFP's. Sounds weird.
The doctor recommended surgery, trying to avoid that whole thing!!
I have a friend that this runs in the family... and it is not from childbirth (as some people assume/think). The only true way to stop the issue thus far has been surgery. If you find out otherwise (that these weights work) I would love the feedback so I can let her know.0 -
LMAO
best post ever0 -
You probably need to start off light....work your way into heavy weights.
Get some ping-pong balls....0 -
How much can you clench?
Bish, do you even Kegel?0 -
WORD OF THE DAY TODAY - Discharge. I think that is like nails on a chalkboard to men. Something we have no understanding of.
I luckily, or unfortunately....luckily....well possibly unfortunately....have daughters, so I am slowly starting to understand this phenomenon. You learn amazing insight into women watching little girls grow up.0 -
Ben WA balls! They aren't expensive, but I recommend getting the stainless steel. You can get them for like $20 online. If simple kegels aren't working, I think you should try them. Can't hurt.0

I do curls with my junk. Works for me......I'd go for it.
Lmao, Oh Jac....only you.0 -

The OP was trying to be sensitive to people, because there ARE people on this site who are easily offended. I have personally been reported for (and subsequently warned) for using the word "penis". I agree with you, that it's ridiculous, but I totally understand why the OP felt the need to preface her question that way.
People are odd.0 -

Actually it could hurt, if you do it wrong.0 -

I've heard good things about vaginal weights. I even read an article one time about a woman who liked them so much she had something like 30lb ones made for herself! I don't think you'll want to go that crazy, but definitely give them a shot.0
-
This is so common! Most of the moms I know have had some issue. In the past surgery was the best but only option if the exercise did not work. But I did hear that these weights were working, I would try them. But if after some time I would get the surgery.0

Love them! And start easy;)
Well, I learn something new every day.0 -
If your doctor is recommending surgery and you don't want to go that route, get a second opinion. I'd ask specifically about the suggestions you got here. Good luck. :flowerforyou:0

There are weights?0

Hey, if anybody feels uncomfortable about this post, I will remove it...for some reason, I feel comfortable asking this here....
I am the mother of three (youngest is 22) and have been doing kegels since like forever, but still have leakage when I cough, sneeze, laugh, just about anything...
I was just wondering if there was anybody out there who had ever used vaginal weights. I am considering using them, but would like some feedback before I put out the dough!!
Thanks in advance!!
