"Goomba" Nickname for my son. Came from Nintendo, those evil little mushroom people in Mario-land. When my son was less than a year old, he was constantly crawling. He'd get underfoot and my hubby and I would trip over him.
+ mom
you get the story0 -
I have been taking flamenco classes for 7.5 years. My original photo was from a flamenco recital, but I changed it to a pic when I was in Madrid, seeing lots of flamenco shows!!!!!!!0

Majority of people don't like giving flat out compliments so they'll say silly things like "You're pretty to be fat, or she has a pretty face, or you're too pretty to have all that weight, have you ever considered doing this or that" ect ect:frown:0

I was always at least a head taller than my classmates and by the first year of high school, I was 5'10"--awkward for a girl in the '60s.
At a school dance, a boy much shorter that I was (like most of the population) made the comment, "Sheesh, what an Amazon!"
It stuck--there you go! BTW, I didn't stop growing until I reached 6'1".
And wish I had a dollar for every person who said, "Oh, your tall, you don't have to worry about your weight." Newsflash--I can gain 25 pounds before I notice a change in my dress size--not good!0 -
In my last big, huge, scary, drug-induced weight loss, I belonged to a site called Tales From the Scale, which was very cool. We would weigh in on Tuesdays. I took to saying, "Onward and downward! (Scale-wise)" and it just has remained as the one positive from that time.
I gained it all back because drugs don't work, but here I am and the attitude is the same. Onward and let's see those numbers go downward.0 -
Mine's a pen name, been using it for years.0

It's my twitter name, which my friends came up with when I signed up for twitter. It's 'MC is better than you' -I'm not egocentric, it just kinda stuck as a username that isn't always taken.0

In 1999, I climbed Mount Castelluzzo in Italy. It's not really a mountain, just a bump on a hillside. But it has special significance to those who know who the Waldenses are. If you don't know, google it and have a nice history lesson.

Well, my first job was a drug runner disguised as a cyclist. My code name was Mare, a pun on mule, which means sea in Latin.
Hmmm, maybe some of that isn't true. I run and live near Seattle.0 -

These are fun to read.
MissStick - I'm a woman that uses a white cane = Miss Stick. Put the two words together though and it sounds like mystic and I thought that sounded kinda cool.0 -
I am sweet natured and short so I stand low to the ground  I don't like the sweetener with the same name but I do use a bit of Splenda even though it is the devil :devil:0

Mine is sentimental. I really good friend of mine passed away from a brain tumor right before I joined this site. When our kids were little her son (who is now 16) couldn't understand why my daughters called me Mom and he called his Mom, Mom, but he didn't call me Mom, so my friend ask if it would be OK if he called me Angimom. And he did for a couple of years until it wasn't cool anymore. I really miss her.
Sweet story
Sorry about the loss of your friend.:brokenheart:0 -
named for my favorite book called Lady in waiting
It states I am waiting for the right guy God has for me commit to waiting like I need to do.
Love it!
God brought me my second husband after a miserable first marriage.

Someone I knew once rented a locker at a theme park to store a cake in because she didn't just want to eat a single slice at the park restaurant, she wanted to be able to eat a slice and then finish eating the entire cake by herself when she got back to her hotel.
My "thinspiration", blows my mind to this day
This one takes the cake :bigsmile:0 -
It's a mashup between Capn Crunch and a Donkey. I have had this username since 1998. I did a lot of drugs in college.0

I was always interested in mythology and Tiamat has an interesting story of splitting heaven and earth. I just liked the name and the association of a powerful beginning and end. Something I would like to be associated with, a strong presence although I don't know if I quite live up to that just yet haha.0

When I got my personalized plate for my motorcycle I couldn't get FEISTY because a) it was already taken - by an old couple in a mini van which is think is awesome and b) because FEISTY won't fit on our bike plates. 75 is my birth year0
-
I'm going to show my age here.............
Back in the days when the internet was in its infancy, back when there were still real back-up tapes and punch cards, I joined my first online dating site. You did NOT get to pick your username....the dating site created it from your first name and the number of other people with that first name. So I guess there were 663 Jodys before I came along.0
