How is a bit of ice cream eating like a slob? It's not like anyone is bragging about eating 1000 calories of junk (ok, someone probably is somewhere, but you get my drift).0 -
You could easily fit things like ice cream and cheesecake into 1360 calories a day and still hit quality macro goals.
Your excuse that you just can't fit it is invalid.
Right now I have my goals set at 1800 calories and my favorite ice cream is 1,040 calories for a pint and let's just say a pack of poptarts is 400 calories...On a 1360 intake, I would be over just from those two things.

Love this post because I feel the same way. In fact, I was reading it while I was eating some doritos. I refuse to deprive myself of foods because I will only want them more. Everything in moderation...I have been steadily losing as well Good for you!0

Pop tarts are so disgusting to me but I am with you on the pizza and ice cream (well, except I don't crave them daily) but I didn't give it up. I simply don't eat an entire pizza by myself anymore.0

Maybe that works for you and ALL THE POWER TO YOU. Personally I need to watch everything i take in. I had a slice of pizza today and all i wanted to do was finish the rest of the pizza. GOOD LUCK0

I don't eat pop tarts. I've never liked the taste. I have ice cream or pizza about once every 2 or 3 months. I don't have a problem with someone eating that sort of thing every once in a while.0

There's a lot of angry people on these forums due to their misery that other people can indulge and maintain their goals whilst the "healthy" elitists eat tasteless kaka and have to pretend they like it. I even see this at my gym. Sometimes I'll have a Snickers bar as my post-workout snack and some people will act like I killed their pet. If these people were actually happy with their healthy lives, they wouldn't get so offended.
Um. Yeah-no. We just object to the idea that everyone can and should eat junk food. I think it is hilarious that I have now been accused of avoiding sweets as "an excuse"??? Whaa??? It's like some of the people here have stock in McDonald's and Kellogg Corp. and we are avoiding doing our patriotic duty in diligently avoiding foods that make us less healthy. :laugh: :laugh:0 -

Even though I am a foody I totally agree IF you can start eating this stuff and stop. You got it made! However I cant really well. Somedays I can and do though and I am learning if my eating seems out of control for the day then I STOP eating protein shake bowl of soup water and BED sounds nuts but we should all learn how to eat a poptart if we love them or will you keep denying yourself and then eat a couple boxes of them. Discipline is a learned characteristic hats off to foodys that eat what they want.. I am learning slowly but surely.0

Nobody's saying that you 'should' eat junk food. But a little bit is not going to kill you. I see people who keep binging, all the time, because they just can't stick to a junk-free diet . Frankly I'd be more likely to binge and less likely to stick to it if I had to eat well all the time. That would suck. As I said, this way I'm not depriving myself. But if you can eat well 100% of the time and not binge, good for you I guess. I'll still enjoy my 100 calorie ice cream bar (but I will most likely not eat much more than that, and I find pop tarts gross!).0 -

I too believe in not deprieving myself but watching my portions. I'd much rather steadily lose than deprieve myself and end up binging and jumping off the wagon. IF you chose to eat clean and unprocessed foods great for you but this site was intended to be a motivational site and not one to knock someone down. There are plenty of people out there that continue to lose or have lost by eating which you call dirty foods or processed foods. Obviously clean eating isn't the only way to eat and lose.0 -

Eating ice cream everyday is not moderation and is ridiculous, for anyone actually even someone not trying to lose weight.
it is moderation if you limit yourself to the 1/2 cup serving size suggestion instead of the 3 cup bowl you used to eat0 -

Moderation is key. If you can do it, then do it. Also, wanted to point out that it is much harder for women to lose weight eating all the empty calories, not because we cant- but those things aren't as filling and I think our hormones kick-in some.0

You are a 65 year old arthritic woman. What appliies to you doesn't necessarily apply to the vast, vast majority of people on MFP. Sometimes people just have energy needs. How is it going to benefit someone any more if they have already achieved several hundred percent more of a nutrient than needed? You don't get extra credit.0 -
