once every two weeks, on the same day, in the morning, and on an empty stomache

I weigh myself every morning. It keeps me honest; however, I do not obsess about the inevitable fluctuations due to exercise, sodium, etc. I'm just looking for the trend to be down.

I weighed daily first thing in the morning while on a strict diet. It kept me focused. I know weight fluctuates daily, but if it does, I don't want to miss the low by weighing just once a week! What if that's my high for the week? LOL I like to see how salt and eating out affects my weight in. Eating out a night (rarely) actually seems to cause my weight to go down a pound or two temporarily for some reason. Perhaps I don't work out on those days, I'm not sure.

Someone on the boards, Haybaler, I think, reminded me that you should adjust machines back up to your mid-day, clothed weight to get a more accurate calorie burn on exercise eqmt and HR monitors. You are moving more weight. Great point!

Once a day out of habit now that I found the scale and made it a convenient part of my morning get up routine in the bathroom -- with the understanding and acceptance that there will be fluctuations. As an engineer I know how to draw a smooth line through the data and hopefully see the right trend over time... -)

No kidding, when I feel... skinnier. Haha. I can't explain. I mean, most of us have been fat here, and you just feel heavy. But you begin to lose weight and it's like walking is easier suddenly, less weight to carry. So yeah, I weigh on those days. Haha.

    But honestly, it's all in my head because the scale rarely agrees. XD;

As for when I weigh I always weigh in the morning before eating and after bathroom. ( • u • ) d

I weigh myself every morning. I've only been doing it for a month and I'm finding it really interesting. I track it on my phone on the Withings app so I have a pretty little graph charting my progress. I always used to think weighing yourself everyday was ridiculous but now I'm doing it I'm finding it quite interesting. The more I do it, the more I think it's a good idea. If I didn't weigh everyday, I would have been quite discouraged once or twice by now by the numbers I would have seen only once a week. I also find it kind of fascinating how my body does/ doesn't react to certain things. Plus, I just really like my pretty graph to be honest.

Every two weeks on Friday after work at the health clinic. I don't even keep a scale at home. I don't want to get caught up in " scale fever "....:o). I am a member for 32 days now and have lost as of last week 8.8 pounds......

When I started, four times a day (to see my normal fluctuations so I didn't panic every time the scale went up a pound). After I got a good handle on that, Once a day (early morning). After about 30 pounds, once a week...and now, monthly

I'm usually a daily person but only record one weight a week (same day each time).
That being said, I refused to stop on today after chinese for lunch yesterday and ham for dinner - I know it's just a number, but I couldn't face the scales after a day with that much sodium :)

When i first started I weighed in twice a day. Now I just weigh myself every morning. It makes me really aware of what my body is doing and means I keep a very close eye on things.

I have a withings scale which links to fitbit and MFP and I follow it in trendweight.com so that I am following weight trends rather than individual variances.

Lately, once a week, if I remember. I do not focus on my weight.
Right now my focus is how I feel. I cannot wait until my clothes are feeling too big!

I've been doing it every single day, but man oh man I shouldn't. Seeing a bad number that means absolutely nothing can really bring your motivation down and make you feel like you're failing. Even if you know the number is because of water retention or whatever, actually seeing it is a huge bummer and hard to forget. I'm going to start weighing myself once every 3 to 4 days. My personal rule for when to weigh is either right when I wake up or if its during the day, set a timer for 3 hours after I last ingested something to give my body time to pee and poop and get some of that out for a good number.

1-3 times a week. I know that my weight fluctuates a lot though due to my sodium levels. On days I eat out they're insanely high, and when I eat only home made food it's really low. I also try to weigh on an empty stomach. I really just pay attention to the mirror mostly though.

I weigh daily (sometimes multiple times to see the types of fluctuations) but only record once a week.

I haven't weighed myself in years. I keep my size 4-6 pants. When these get snug, I go on phase 1 for a week and increase my exercise. I've been able to keep my weight off this way for 12 years.

Twice daily. Unfortunately I am too preoccupied with my weight than other things.
  • Everytime go to gym find amusement in the 5 lbs fluctuate daily throughout a weeks time I record on Mondays though .

Every day. I wake up, pee, jump on the scales  Official weigh-in day is Tuesday.

I'm still pretty new at this, and I like to see what fluctuations/trends my body has over a period of time. Sometimes I will weigh myself more than once a day just to see what's happening. I find it really interesting somedays when I weigh the same at night after food/exercise as I did first thing in the morning!!

At the moment the scale is steadily going down. I like it. Maybe as I get more comfortable with what I'm doing I will weigh myself less, however I think it will always be a habit - don't want to get fat again!!

I usually hop on every morning before getting dressed and ready for work. I usually only track once a week (or once ever other week). I just find it amusing the fluctuation that occurs, but lately it's been extremely consistent and that helps me know if i'm eating something i really shouldn't (or having too many iced lattes). :-)
  • I do exactly the same thing as you :) I can't stop myself from checking on a daily basis either.

Morning and night. Morning to enter into MFP and my spreadsheet. Night because I am always curious how much weight I lose overnight. I was surprised to learn that on average, I lose about 1.4 lbs while sleeping 6 hours. I should sleep more.

Blue is weight, red is weight lost. The big gap is my 7 month plateau when I stopped tracking.

Could you work out any reason for your plateau? That amount of time would devastate me :(

Everyday! It keeps me on track. I quit for a while in December/January and I gained 17 pounds! So I am back to everyday and I've lost 22 since March. It's not for everyone but it works for me.

4 times a week, but then I'm watching for trends rather than worrying about individual changes.
