Like every physical feature, some people will like it, some people won't like it, some people won't care.

The article is just basically saying that people shouldn't have "thigh gaps", asking everyone to conform to their definition of beauty and stigmatising everyone who doesn't. Bad call.

I think the article is saying there's some people that should have them and some that shouldnt. But to make it a goal .. it's like a guy saying "my ultimate weight loss goal is to have a cleft chin" .. and other guys jumping in in support or against cleft chins .. and suddenly everyone's arguing about something and questioning the morality and intelligence of people who do have cleft chins and questioning the dedication and habits of those who don;t have cleft chins ..

it gets silly. but still ... it's entertaining as hell.
    Excellent comparison!!!

The only reason I would prefer having a thigh gap is to prevent my shorts from riding up to my crotch. But I have never had one and never will.

Real men who like real women don’t give a **** about box gap. Put down the celery, champ.

I agree, it's a dumb term, and just another fetishization of a (lack of a) body part...

However, the term "real men", or its opposite "real women" don't help prevent arbitrary grouping of people.

I'm more concerned with this gap's impression on teenagers.

Namely their overabundance of 'mens' clothing that looks like it belongs on a twelve year old girl.

I think I'm about 5-10lbs away from getting a thigh gap - like I said above, my legs bow and my pelvis is quite wide. I've never been so utterly underwhelmed by a weight loss 'achievement' in my life. Maybe it's like the philosopher's stone in Harry Potter - it only comes to those who don't really care about it either way.

It will mean I can wear a skirt and not suffer chafing, and I can wear the same pair of jeans for longer without wearing a hole in the crotch (so many of my best jeans go too soon because of this).

I thought it was called a thigh gap.... cause it's between the thighs.

Guess women have a box now?

Um, box is a term for a woman's private area... so yes, all women have that :)

And so here we are. It’s 2013 and box gap is a ‘thing’. It’s now a desirable trait for easy-to-sway females

Now, the Star-Bell Sneetches had bellies with stars.
The Plain-Belly Sneetches had none upon thars.
Those stars weren't so big. They were really so small.
You might think such a thing wouldn't matter at all.

At this point I'm just trying to lose enough weight so that my thighs don't rub together so much that the friction causes fires. I honestly could not care less about a thigh gap.
    .
Deodorant works great to prevent between the thigh chaffing.

    Is this true? lol

It's ridiculous the lengths people will go for it. Although I wouldn't mind if my thighs didn't rub together in the summer... but oh well.

heres a great workout to get you that sexy thigh gap!

Step one: Stand with feet together
    Step two: Move feet apart

You did it! You have thigh gap!

If this isn't challenging enough for you, you can always try the "push hips backwards and take mirror picture"! It does wonders and you'll see straight through those pesky legs!

Waffle, if you remember correctly though there came a day when Sneetches forgot about stars and whether they had one, or not, upon thars.

Yup. Works better than the chaffing gels. A friend told me about it when I started runnign.

Random note: It also works for razor burn. My friend used to be a stripper and that's what they all used so that they didn't have little red bumps.

I've heard of people using it instead of shave gel if they need to do a quick dry shave.

Didn't know what it was, now I do. Thanks? And now I can't stop thinking about how much I dislike the term box as slang for vagina.

    Lucy

    our australopithecine ancestor

    had a thigh gap. Look!

    7505440_f260.jpg

it's genetic. whether you have one or not depends on the width of your pelvis. It doesn't define whether someone looks sexy or not, as you can see from Lucy (I'm sure male australopithecines would have found her attractive though).

I'm slightly bow-legged. As in, when my ankles touch, my knees are far away. I might start making that a 'thing'. Knee gap. Yeah, I've got a knee gap - I'm special.

Me too! Knee gap rules! LOL
