I love hearing about everyone's successes ! I joined this site back in Aug/Sept and it really helped me eat right, tracking is great... I lost nine pounds (started at 157, down to 148). My goal is 132. Then I quit coming to the site, things going on in my life, my mom passed away (which shook me to my core), and lo and behold, I was stress eating (shock)! and slowly putting my hard earned weight back on. I turned it around, got back on track and was pleased that I was able to shed the extra pounds. Today I weighed 149, so not too bad. I am back and ready to track, eat healthy and lose the dang weight . I recognized a lot of the same names as when I was here before, so I feel like I'm coming back to a comfort zone, people who are having the same struggles/issues.. nice to be back. Now drop and give me 10 ! : )0

So sorry to hear about your mom. Mine died in her sleep in 1999 (at 67 yrs old) - great for her, that she didn't suffer - but a huge shock to the rest of us. I feel for you. :flowerforyou:
You did a great job staying on track! I remember you, glad you are back. People come and go so often that it's kinda hard to keep up! There have been so many success stories, I just love it here.

My first goal which is my b-day goal is tomorrow and I am .2 lbs away. I am really watching my salt intake so that I wont be holding onto any water weight for tomorrow. I cant believe I have gone from 209 in June to hopefully to 155 tomorrow. If I do hit that goal tomorrow it will be a great b-day present to myself.

It's been a rough couple of weeks-hit a plateau & had to change up my exercise a bit. Finally get to record another loss of 2 pounds. Was 198 on 12/3 & 196 this morning.....0

No weight loss this morning. grrrr
But my measurements have changed some. So I think that I will do some readjusting this weekend and maybe go find a video this weekend to do.

I'm with kj. You are right on target. 1-2 pounds a week loss is the healthy recommendation. You've lost 21 pounds! Congratulations!

I started about three weeks ago at 229. I'm below 220 lbs at this time. My goal weight is 175-180 lbs. This website makes tracking exercise and diet easy! I walked 45 minutes this morning. Brrrrr, it's cold, for Southern California, anyways.0

I started out 6 years ago with baby fat in the stomach after having two kids. I went down 4 sizes and kept it off for 5 years. However, the past year has been not as favorable. I put on a few pounds which I came to this site to lose. Within 2 weeks of joining, I am down to my goal weight. I am going to keep tracking so I don't get off track again.
Met Goal: 12/15/07. The best part was that was the date I said I wanted to meet. That was the exact morning the scale went down. Can't get better than that.0 -

I started checking this site out about a month and a half ago. I did great (5 pounds in the first couple of weeks). Went on vacation and didn't check in. Good news is I only gained back to my starting weight of 150. I'm starting...again. My goal is 130 by spring.
Hubby moved the treadmill in front of the television downstairs. It's a great excuse to take some "me time". I never have time to watch TV or exercise (I'm a hockey mom), now two birds with one stone and I don't feel guilty about taking time out. 1/2 hour goes by fast, too when your watching a show.
The accountability thing is great. Thanks for all the support. This site is awesome.0 -

I thought you were taking the day off??!?
I was looking at your previous post and you are losing 3-6 pound a week. How is that possible? Are you working out and not "eating" your extra calories, or what's the deal-i-o? I started at the same time as you, I have worked the recommended 'program' and I have never lost more that 2-3 pounds a week- and only once managed 3. I ask because I'm really frustrated right now and I'm unable to stick with my plan. I really hope this will pass and I will be able to get a second wind after Christmas. I started Aug-22 at 191 and I just finally hit 170 last week after being stuck at the same POUND for a month. I'm 5'8" or 5'9" and I've even incorporated weights.
What's your secret? If you say bellydancing I'll be SOOOOO happy cuz I just got my first bellydance DVD today.

I know very well the frustration my loss has slowed alot and it is very frustrating. I know the biggest problem is I am not getting out to exercise as much as I need to but I have stayed at or under my calorie allotment. I also walk at least 10000 steps per day. Grrr.
Karen you seem to be doing something right. What are you doing.

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. Congrats to those of you who have lost weight!! You are all such an inspiration and great motivation to me. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Oh, this past weekend (plus Monday) was terrible for me - well, not altogether terrible, as you'll see shortly - but, I didn't have a chance to keep track of things here over the past three days or so. Because of that, I let things slide. I didn't officially exercise and I ate things I more than likely shouldn't have and more of them than I probably should have.
However, I think my mind and body perhaps needed that little break from the routine I'd gotten into since being here. (I've been on this site for three full weeks now, this is the start of my fourth). Because, even though things didn't go well over the weekend + yesterday, I still got on the scale this morning ( even though I wasn't really ready to face the "damage" I may have done) and lo and behold... I still managed to lose weight!! Don't ask me how, I have no idea. Maybe I didn't go over on my calories as much as I'd thought? Maybe it's my metabolism? I really don't know.
Anyway, start of my fourth week - I'm down 10 lbs!! AND, I've already reached my Christmas goal - to be under 200 lbs - a week early! I started out at 210 and am now at 199.8! Yay!!! :bigsmile:0 -
I seem to be on the exact same track as mom_luk. Started this about 6 wks ago. Lost 5 lbs in the first 2 wks and then went on a 3 wk work/vacation and gained 3.5lbs. It has been hard getting back into the swing of things after eating and drinking what I wanted to on vacation. Thing is I weighed in 6 lbs less after this so-so week. I attribute it to the fact that I overate on vacation and just plain haven't been hungry lately (although it's coming back now unfortunately). I also think I exercised more than I thought I did on vacation with surfing, hiking, walking all over town instead of just sitting at my desk, and my metabolism was higher upon returning. Plus, the Latin culture takes their big meal at lunch with a small dinner which doesn't fit into my schedule very well here. Not sure how deal with that. So here it is so far.

I just posted on Friday that I seemed to have overcome my plateau & lost two more pounds. I decided to take my measurements again this morning and I am PROUD to say that I have lost 21 inches total since I started measuring on 11/17! My weight this morning was 195.6 and that puts me at a total loss of 43 pounds since mid September:drinker:0

Hi Cheryl, I don't enter any housework or normal everyday stuff in the exercise column because it would take forever and essentially I'm lazy that way. But for the last week I've had kids home so we are doing more physical things that don't get entered. This week when I post my weight I expect another drop because I have been doing my boss's job and that's stressful at times. I can't find time to eat because I have been doing bus maintenance between 2 back to back runs for a total of 4 runs a day for a week. I was so tired yesterday I didn't bother to enter my food here. Oh yeah on top of that there is the Christmas baking to do and this morning is Saturday and it felt good to sleep in but I have to be on the road at 11 am est to go north for the day. So I really guess I'm not eating all my calories, somedays I don't even know how to enter such things as put crosslinks on chains to bus # 3. LOL I just don't think I will find it in the database. It's nice to sit hear and have:drinker: with a fellow mfper. So Cheryl, you need to go into bus maintenance and it's better if you do that where there is alot of snow, it makes you work harder and you shiver more and voila!, you burn off calories right and left lol. Well gotta go get ready to roll. ~Karen I'll post on Monday if I think of it.0

On 12/18 I was 195.6 & 193.8 today. Definately going to keep up with the Pilates & Hip Hop Abs. I'm gonna try Turbo Jam after the holidays. Switching things up exercise wise does work!

My goal is to do 20 min on the treadmill at a high incline with 1300 cal a day. We will see since it is christmas week and all.

I'm all about the accountability so here it goes...
I'm not sure the exact date I started but the weight was 166 pounds mid October
Currently I'm at 143 HOWEVER that weight loss in a short amount of time was kick started by a very stressful event which I don't recommend as a weight loss method :noway:
Anyway, my goal weight is 115 which is what I was before I gained the weight
I look at it on a weekly basis though with a goal of losing 2 lbs a week0 -
