Hello everyone, I have used myfitnesspal for over 3 years, and I have never posted to any of the message boards until now. I am a certified personal trainer and have never recommended any type of weight loss supplements.

I have recently tried African Mango in conjunction with Glucomannan and have had amazing results! I had to test, re-test and test again to be sure that I was on the right track before posting my results.

I am 47 years old and had gained a few extra pounds that seemed to be just stuck on my midsection. I work out everyday and I cut my saturated fat intake to about 20 grams or less per day. I cut my total fat intake (all according to myfitnesspal) to less than 80 grams per day. This means that I cut out a lot of dairy (I only ate a small amount of butter, and I used organic half and half in my morning coffee). I also cut down on meat.

Here are my results after 2 weeks... I lost 3 pounds and 1 % of body fat in the first week
I have lost 2 more pounds and 1.4% body fat in my second week

I have tried just about everything Dr. Oz has recommended including Raspberry Ketones and Safslim. Glucomannan is an excellent fiber source and it keeps you full because it swells 17 times it's original size when placed in water (this is why you need to drink water after you take it).

I would also like to mention that I do not work for any of the companies that recommend these products.

Here is how I take the products...In the morning, I take 2 (1200 mg) of African Mango with 3 Glucomannan capsules with about 8 ounces of water. I also take 3 more capsules before lunch and dinner.

I hope this has been helpful!

    Have a great day

Very helpful :) Can you tell me what brand you take for the African Mango?

The two bolded statements seem contradictory to me. I'd think a certified personal trainer would know enough about how the body works to not fall for fads and weight loss scams.

African Mango is yet another in the never-ending parade of "magic pill" diet scams designed to bilk desperate dieters out of their money.

Dr Oz recommends a product a week. 2 weeks ago was Raspberry Ketone then before that PGX. He must get kickbacks or something. Eat well - be well!
  • I just started african mango on monday and have lost a couple pounds but i want to know from everybody how you are taking them, how many drops, and how often? My bottle says 20 drops 2x a day so i do it first thing in the morning and wait 45 moinutes before eating or drinking anything and then i do it again late afternoon and wait another 45 minutes before eating or drinking.

I started taking African Mango pills over a month ago and lost nothing and didnt notice any change in my desire to eat. I am now following a sensible eating and exercise plan with MFP.

Dr. OZ LOL! Getting rich off peddling snake oil...gotta give him credit though, he has managed to build a following that hang on his every word and they will buy each and every product he pushes. He has made quackery an art!

Oz recommends anything that gives him a kickback in the $$ department. That's all I need to know. Is African Mango good for you? I have no idea, but if OZ says it is, I'm guessing it's good for his pocket book, not yours.

Too bad. There was a time, when he first was starting out that I trusted him. Now. I don't.
  • I have lost 40 lbs on garcinia cambogia! that dr oz talked about and I get it for 2.99 a bottle I love it. but I have also cut back to 1500 cal. a day

Yeah the liquid African mango extract does work (or atleast it did for me) It had me sweating like a pig, like whevener i would take it my nose would start to sweat alot it was kind of gross. Long story short I ended up eating like a pig and I didn't gain any weight but as soon as I stopped taking it and continued my poor eating habits I ballooned up in weight... Btw the African mango pills had no effect.

Do you suppose maybe the bolded part had anything whatsoever to do with the weight loss? Garcinia Cambogia is another diet scam, just like african mango, raspberry ketones, etc. Cut calories to the point where you're in a caloric deficit and you'll lose weight - no magic pills or snake oils necessary.

No, but I'll rush out and spend the $70 if a doctor recommends it. The other stuff he flogged didn't work, but I have a feeling that this time it will be different.

Here is the secret answer to weight loss: Figure out your nutrition, exercise regularly, get adequate hydration rest & sleep, be consistent and practice a little patience!!

Keep your money for groceries and follow above!

Next week Dr.Oz will be recommending something else, and so will some other expert.. What works has never changed in all of history - eat properly and move that body!

    Hey,

I'm curious to try this to see if it works. I could do with losing a few pounds and from what I've read it works as an appetite suppressant to stop you from feeling hungry all the time.

I might order some today as I could do with a supplement to help me along. I plan on taking this alongside a healthy diet and exercise regime. I will let you guys know about my progress!

Oh wow!! I lost 60 lbs... eating.. food.., stop looking for the 'magic pill' - there isn't one.. I have never seen so many One post wonders... good grief. Best advice for new people = Give up the FAD diets, miracle cures and pills and actually put SOME work into yourself for once.

Yeah I stopped taking the Eden's African Mango Extreme as well. Wasn't doing a thing for me at all! Big waste of money.

I swear all the great reviews on Amazon are due to the fact that if you write a 5-star review on there, Eden's will send you a free 2nd bottle of the stuff... I know this is true because when I bought it, they sent me a paper that said this on it!

    it didn't work...how shocking....

I watched that once, seemed too scripted but served it's purpose nonetheless. Oh wait..nevermind that was the best of Mandingo volume 1.
