I am 35, 5'5", SW:258, CW:250, GW: 150 (eventually!!) I would love to have more friends on or around the same track I am on to make this journey easier!!0

I'm 5'7" and at 240. My heaviest ever. I have a 5 year old little girl & I don't want her to 'miss out on life' because I'm too selfish to take care of myself. I also just lost my mom to breast cancer a month ago--and my odds for cancer are higher being overweight.
I read a great quote recently & it really convicted me: "As a parent it's your responsibility--at the bare minimum--to make every attempt to stay alive." Ouch. I do nothing to care for myself. I have had two days of healthy eating. It seems I have so far to go that it feels hopeless.....hoping the support here will keep me motivated. My weight is holding me back from so much!0 -
I'm on day 2 also. It feels like its impossible, but I'm hopeful!0

I am not in the 200 pound category any more, but I once was in your same shoes at 267. I am now at 169. I can't believe I have made it this far, although I lost thirty or forty pounds before joining MFP it was alot of several up and down moments. Since I have joined MFP my weight loss has greatly been more consistent and the support here is awesome. So anyone that would like to add me as a friend go ahead and do so. I enjoy the support of others but enjoy supporting others more. : )0

Just recently crossed over that 200lb line, about 6 months ago. My niece is a fitness trainer and I just can't keep up in her classes. she recommended this site. Hopefully this will help.0

Trying to get back on track. This is my first day back. Looking for ALL the motivation i can get. Feel free to add me too!

I would love to have some ladies to make this tough journey with. I'm at my all-time high weight of 240. I have a wonderful, funny, smart, beautiful 5-year-old girl (and a 23-year-old son who survived a 100+ mph motorcycle crash last year) who I want to stay alive for. A month ago I lost my mom to breast cancer & I'm so scared of the added risk my extra-weight causes. I always 'do good' for a few days, then look at the huge amount of weight I have to lose & give up hope. If you add me, I will be a good weight-loss friend to you! :flowerforyou:0

You can do it ladies!
I started off ultimately at 230lbs, joined MFP at 224lbs and now I am 197lbs. I cannot recall a time when I was this light. You can do it!0 -
I could really use some support from ladies in my same range.
I joined MFP when I was 250lb and I thought that was "AWFUL"...I then quit using the site after I got married and gained a 30lb slab.
I've lost some, but my tracker doesn't show because of my original sign up weight was that dreaded/now desired 250lb...I can't wait to get back to a lower weight.
I'm 5ft 5inches

Today I weighed in and i have finally lost just over 2 stone (since starting mfp). A friend took a photo the other day and I thought to myself thats it! so really stuck to it this week and it paid off as I lost 2.1kg (over 4lbs).

I came on today looking for some more friends I lost a lot when I let my goal lapse after an injury and gained everything plus back I was on the horizon of reaching 200 lbs. . I am back at it and already feel better and having success during my first week. No looking back now.
I'm 30 years old and looking to start a family soon so I want to be able to run after the kids! Not to mention fit in a beautiful wedding dress with no self loathing.

Just added several of you...but for anyone I missed, feel free to add me!!! Have used MFP before but am newer to the social/support side of it. Need some accountability buddies, for sure!!
I'm 25, have successfully lost weight...but always gained it back. I've struggled with eating my whole life...either addicted to it or terrified of it. I've never had a healthy relationship with food and am looking to achieve one through clean eating and realistic, non-obsessive exercise. Would love to be weight loss buddies and cheer one another on!

Goal Weight: 170 (Maybe lower...but trying not to be unrealistic. Also want mega muscle in the poundage!)0 -
I was there at the beginning of 2012 and I can tell you it CAN be done - even for this middle aged lady. I lost the weight and gained my body back by using an MFP goal of 1200 calories total per day with a healthy diet (of around 1700 calories) with plenty of daily exercise to burn off about 500 calories. I think exercise is key to getting your metabolism up. You can do it! Oh - and I planned in special treats on the weekends that didn't kill my progress, but still kept me from feeling deprived. Just keep focusing on making each day "complete". Don't think about pushing a lapse until tomorrow. Make TODAY complete, then those days will add up to weight loss on your weekly weigh in. Keep going!

GW-160 and like some of the rest of you if I make it that far I will keep going then.
I have been doin this about 3 months and I haven't had that great of success, I get lazy and feel defeated. To be honest I feel like I can't do it but regardless I am going to keep pluggin away and at least try for one more day, one more day after that until I feel better.
If anyone is interested in becoming friends add me if you want.0 -
I am in! Just send you a friend request.
This journey is hard. More support from friends the better.
This is the second time tipping the scale over teh 200lbs marker. This time I got up to 238 pounds. It wasn't until I was in my brothers wedding last year and saw the pictures that I became completely disgusted with how I let all the hard work i did before go to waste. Basically I gained it all back plus another 15 and it all went to my *kitten* and gut. Ugh.
I have lost 24 pounds so far in the last 6 months. Not big success but a success in a small amount. Now I have to hit it hard to lose the last 30 pounds in the next 5 months......bf and I are going to australia n November and I have plans to be in a bikini every single day there and feel good about it.0 -

I have been doing this a while and have great result then get off track and regain what I've lost. The older I get the harder this is but now I am starting to see some results that aren't scale related but energy wise. So I'll take the little loses I seem to be able to achieve as long as I can continue to keep up with my kids and enjoy life. For the first time in a long time I'm happy and more confident than ever before. Slow and steady is the way I plan on reaching my goal...little goals along the way and little rewards as I reach them.0 -

I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes a week before I got married [May 26, 2012]. Was given a meal plan, 1200 calories/day and goal to lose 20 lbs. Following the plan alone dropped me from 207 to 187 in roughly 8-9 weeks.. enough to go from size 16 to size 14 jeans! Haven't been in those in 8 years! I have no idea what I weighed in my younger years, just that I was maybe a size 10/12 through MS and HS and then boom!
I have a 9 year old step daughter, and my wife and I used to go hiking often.. She shattered a bone in her foot and went from 125 at 5'8" to 190 lbs currently. I want to be love my body again, and hopefully be the motivation to help my wife get back into shape as well!
*ETA* Not sure I will ever fit into those 'cute clothes' because my chest has always made those cute shirts impossible
*ETA#2* Please feel free to send friend requests0
