I went to school with a girl named Tibia Payne. (Nice girl and she may have spelled it Tybia, I don't remember) Isn't "tibia" a bone in your leg? Perhaps her mother suffered from shin splints while she was pregnant??
Yes, should could have named triplets: Tibia, Fibula and Femur...0 -
I have some friends with the last name Pond. They named their daughter Lily.0

I have some friends with the last name Pond. They named their daughter Lily.
Awww, that's my daughter's name.
Same spelling, like the flower but everyone wants to spell it Lilly.
And here I thought I was keeping it simple and easy for her...0 -

Lily is a great name. Just not with Pond.
Some names are always bad. Some are just bad in certain combinations.0 -

We are friends with bunch of crunchy granola hippies...and the names of babies in their friend's circles run super strange.
The one that got me the most is Echo .....really???? WTF is wrong with you people!?0 -
My son's name is Jett, which I didn't think was weird, but my grandma needed a year or so to get used to it. I sometimes get the "did you say Jett??" response, but not too frequently.
My sister had a couple friends in high school named Diamond and Princess...can you imagine being a grown woman named Princess?? Like putting that on a resume?
There's a Cleveland Browns player (used to play for LSU) named Barkevious Mingo. I really wanna name my next dog Barkevious. It sounds like a royal dog name.0 -
If I ever have a girl, I really want to name her Brumhilda. I think it's a beautiful name. My boyfriend says that's definitely not happening. Also, I will love my daughter, so I probably shouldn't do that to her. Maybe I can use it as a middle name.0

I knew a girl in high school who was named Love Seeman. True story.0
-
Went to HS with Summer Breese and Frieda Love Boner.0

Apparently they call her "Northie" which is kind of cute. But they chose North because it means strong and powerful.

My uncle's ex-wife is a social worker, and she said that some woman named her kids Syphilis (pronounced Sa-phyllis) and Gonorrhea (pronounced Ga-Nora). WTF?0
-
I saw an "In Memorial" post in the newspaper once where the five surviving children were all named after cars. I can't remember all of them but two were Mercedes and Tercel.0

I work in a maternity unit and I've heard of a baby girl called Berry, and a baby boy called Indiana (there surname was Jones!)0
-
My nephew, Keegan, told his mom he didn't like his name and wanted to change it (he's 8). So every morning when she woke him up she'd call him some other name.....Frank, Phillip, Clyde.....he'd always tell her "No, I don't like that either" Until......Cleatus. He smiled and exclaimed excitedly "Yes! Cleatus! I like that!" So now we all call him Cleatus. LOL0

I told my wife if our child was a girl, we were naming her Polly Esther. Thankfully, we had a boy!0

My cousin was going to be named Ima June Bug, but fortunately they named her Julie Bug. She so got lucky on that one.0

I've heard this story too, along with kids named lamonjelo and oronjelo. (Orange jello and lemon jello.) I think they are urban legends but I am not one to start an argument with a hawt (pronounced HAAAWWWWTTT) English teacher from Detroit.
My mother nearly named me Forrest Greenbriar until my dad threatened to abandon the family. Thanks Pops!!

My youngest nephews name is Kingston Jay... They originally wanted to name him Anakin (Star wars). I think Kingston is way better, personally. As for other weird names when my sister had her youngest she was in the hospital and the nurse told her a lady just had a son and named him Amilion (A-Million).
I enjoy names that you don't hear very often but some parents take it too far...0 -

When i worked at a hospital, we would occasionally hop onto the online nursery and see what names there were. There were two that were born relatively close to eachother. One was Pistol Patsy and the other was Furious Charles.0
