my ex mother in law told me when i was pregnant...i remember hearing this name one time and it was beautiful and seeing as i never had a girl can you please name your daughter Summer's Eve.

Moon Unit Zappa, daughter of Frank Zappa. Her siblings had odd names too, but I can't remember them. They were among the first odd names I heard when I was growing up.

I work for a world wide company and deal with Asia quite a bit, they have some strage names......I must say the oddest i've come across are from Thailand, Watcharaporn and Jumponsak ........ :huh:
NO joke, I communicate with them both on a regular basis.
I have Finnish relatives, and traveled there in April. Some of the names I was introduced to:
Outi (pronounce "Oh-tee") That's a girl's name
Juha (you-ha) Kind of a derivative of John
Pirkko (roll those r's!)
Mowry
I'm sure they thought our names were weird, though, too !
Oh, and my Dad wanted to name my older brother TOIVO! Mom would NOT allow it! His name is John.0 -

When my son was born, my nurse told me that some lady down the hall named her daughter "Fakina Knight".

Don't name your kids after what you were drinking when you got pregnant, I have taught Chardonnay, Kavocsea' (ka-va-sea-ay), Hennesse, & Seagram. Why???

First name was most likely spelled Ichi - got nothing for the last name. In undergrad one of my friends was named Ichiro - nicknamed Itchy! We called his girlfriend Scratchy0 -

My uncle's ex-wife is a social worker, and she said that some woman named her kids Syphilis (pronounced Sa-phyllis) and Gonorrhea (pronounced Ga-Nora). WTF?
I've heard this story too, along with kids named lamonjelo and oronjelo. (Orange jello and lemon jello.) I think they are urban legends but I am not one to start an argument with a hawt (pronounced HAAAWWWWTTT) English teacher from Detroit.
My mother nearly named me Forrest Greenbriar until my dad threatened to abandon the family. Thanks Pops!!

When i worked at a hospital, we would occasionally hop onto the online nursery and see what names there were. There were two that were born relatively close to eachother. One was Pistol Patsy and the other was Furious Charles.

I have a friend named Kitty.
Also, I've read some parents seriously named their daughter Chlamydia. Wtg naming your child after a sexually transmitted disease.
My partner is adamant about calling a possible future son of ours Luke. Just so he can say: "Luke, I am your father!"0 -
Apparently they call her "Northie" which is kind of cute. But they chose North because it means strong and powerful.
I thought it meant barren snow-covered wasteland. :bigsmile:0
