-crystal light
-lemon juice (fresh squeezed is better, but some people like concentrate)
-let fruit sit in the water overnight, take the fruit out & then drink it (You can eat the fruit too, but take it out first so you don't choke. My friend likes pineapple & peach best)0 -
Maybe something like Crystal Light? I hate plain water, unless I'm working out. The rest of the time...crystal light! Tastes great, and is only 10 calories per 16.9 ounce serving (one water bottle.) I particularly like the Raspberry Green Tea.0

I just drank it. Eventually I came to like/prefer it. I drink pretty much only water now.
You can add stuff to it but I like just plain water, cold is best but I can do warm now.0 -
Unsweetened iced tea with fresh lemon works for me. Also I find water tastes better if it is over ice. Then it is actually great. One more option would be something like a Brita water filter; I found that to be amazing when I had one (moved and lost it.)0

Sometimes drinking water at a different temperature (hot, warm, or ice cold) makes a difference.
When I don't want plain, I add a Crystal Light packet, though some people don't like the artificial sweeteners in that. And I dilute mine. I use a small packet, intended for a 16 ounce water bottle, in a 24 ounce bottle. There's still flavor, but it's not super strong, and I drink less of the artificial sweeteners over the course of the day then.
"Spa Water" is another tasty treat. Float some mint leaves and cucumber slices in a pitcher of water overnight. You can add lemon or lime slices, too. The cucumber and mint add just a hint of freshness to the water.
I stayed at a hotel a couple of summers ago that always had fruit water in a dispenser in the lobby. One day it had strawberries in it, the next orange slices, the next cantaloupe chunks. It was good - just enough flavor to be not plain, but not as sweet (or caloric) as juice.0 -
I used to gag on water unless I was working out, especially if it wasn't cold.
Then I went through basic training where I was forced to drink room temperature tap water and sometimes from a canteen that sat in the hot Texas sun for an hour or so... now I can drink it just fine. lol
It's a mind thing, but there are plenty of additives if you don't want to force yourself.0 -
It takes time to like it - eventually one day you realise you really want it and when out and about you need to get a bottle of water of order a jug for your table instead of having fizzy drinks like everyone else.
You said you want to - so just start drinking it. Its the one thing everyone here does - drink lots of water0 -
I think warm water tastes sweeter!0

It's water.
It isn't supposed to have a taste.
Just drink it.0 -

Haha "Hydrate" . I remember those days.
Try filtering your water or bottled water. But ice cold water seem to be the best for me.
The more you drink it the less it bothers you.
Edited for: I have tried Mio fit and it tasted pretty good.0 -

yep!0 -
Are you drinking it warm or cold? With me, I like it to be ice-cold. Don't know why, just like it better that way. If you want to try flavoring the water, you could try:
Crystal Light
Special K Protein water mix (I like the Pink Lemonade)0 -
I drink a TON of water at work because it gives me 2 excuses to get up and away from my desk. 1) Refills 2) Peeing. Sometimes when I'm THAT bored I will slam my cup of water just to get up and refill and wander around. Now I drink a lot of it because it's habit.0

i have a hard time getting my water in too, i like lemon mio water enhancer-at least a dozen flavours available0

I don't think I'll ever understand the concept of "So what if you don't like it, put it in you mouth anyway!" (lol...)
I like fizzy flavored waters so that's what I drink, or I'll throw lemon wedges into a pitcher and let it sit over night. That said I'm sure the carbonation and sweeteners from the flavored waters are giving me cancer or something of that nature, or so I've been told.0 -

Pfft...I've been telling people that line for decades.
At least I'm consistent.0 -

^^^ It grows on you... I prefer it now0 -
let a mint tea bag sit in your water bottle over night.0

water with fresh lemon wedges
that mio fit water enhancer stuff0 -
I used to use crystal lights but they gave me the worst headaches! Now I've switched to Mio and I really like it. It's easy to drink and easy to keep a couple in your purse for when you're on the go.0
-
I hardly drank it before I began my new life changes but now I drink so much it HAS flavour and I love it!! I was the same as you at first btw and I now drink 2/3 bottles a day.0
-
I agree with one of the repliers above, I just drank it (even though like you on most days I only drank water if i was VERY thirsty) and now I really love it. I don't like to call it plain, or tasteless, I say that it has that taste that you just can't explain. I love water though. So my advice is to just start drinking it.
Also it was very difficult for me to be able to get 8 cups in a day. It was sooo much! But I got a water bottle kind of like one of these:
It's soo much easier to drink water with one of them especially since you just have a straw to sip through. You drink it up without even really noticing. And the best part of it is that one water bottle has about 3 cups of water so you're pretty much halfway done with one bottle! (Sorry for making that sound like an ad)
But anyway, main point is just drink it.0 -

Tea is not water. Water is water.
Anything with caffeine dehydrates. And yes, Britta filters are awesome.
*sigh*
Here we go again. While tea is technically not water, it is remarkably hydrating. The amount of caffeine in it very negligibly dehydrating. You could very safely get all of your hydration just from drinking tea. A water suspension is not chemically different from plain water. (I would post supporting links, but I doubt it would do anything to help kill this myth. Those who already know this wouldn't benefit and those who are convinced that anything with caffeine is automatically dehydrating probably wouldn't read them anyhow.)0 -
Lots of ice0

Here's what you do:
1 quart water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons of sweetener
Drink 2 of these a day. Every week, lessen the lemon and sweetener by a little bit, until you can drink it with nothing.
But for me, since my water tastes horrid because it sits in a plastic tank all day, I add a packet of Sweet and Low to each quart. I can drink it like that, it covers p the plastic taste. Water is like 99% of what I drink.
BTW, just drinking it because it's good for you is not something to do... You MUST make it enjoyable, you MUST adapt to it. Once you adapt, it's second nature. I used to be the same as you, I HATED water
Trust me, once you get into a routine, you'll not think of it.0
