Hubby made the list for firefighter at #3.
I thought mine would be on there for sure, but nurses didn't make the top ten.
How about your job?
Stressful or not?

I can't believe nurses didn't make the list! My cousin is a nurse and I know her job is stressful!

Mine is pretty stressful some days but probably not in the top 10 either. I'm the Quality Manager of a factory that makes beer bottles.

Mine is in the middle. Didn't make either list but is probably closer to the NON stressful variety...

My husband however, is #1. He is active duty military.

Nursing gets the shaft in EVERYTHING! Not stressful?! Hmph...

I went over to healthcare IT and it can be stressful at times, but as a whole it's nothing compared nursing.

Apparantly collections isn't very stressful...Could've fooled me when you have to learn the law without a law degree and you have to call people for the money they don't have and take them to court and try to locate them and have the screaming at you every day...

    Cheers, hun. :drinker:

We just got married 2 months ago, I am not even living with him yet, and I am already stressed. He is in Hawaii and I am trying to get there without any help from the military. They won't help at all. I
n fact, that have stressed us out by saying yes, we can help, just fill out these forms.
:5 days later: not those forms, these forms.
:1 week later: Fill out these and apply here.
:1 month later: we will only pay for a portion of the move not the whole thing.
:2 months later: We pay for nothing. You are on your own.

    :explode:

I leave in less than 2 weeks.

Mine isn't on the list. And it would probably be on the low stress list. I do tech support for a small software company that specializes in non profit accounting. And I work from home, making my job even easier.

Huh. Kinda surprised it didn't make the list, since historically we have one of the highest suicide rates by profession, as well as the highest rate of drug and alcohol addiction.

    Interesting.
Hubby has had several guys on the job commit suicide but I haven't heard of anyone I knew in 25+ years in nursing.
But I know the substance abuse is rampant.
It used to be a lot easier to divert controlled substances than it is now...

Well, then I'll take #1, #2, AND what SHOULD be in the top 10....Doctors. Holding people's lives, literally in your hands, is pretty freaking stressful. Add in the constant fear of law suits taking away everything you've worked so hard for....yeah.....

Well, mine's not on that list. :P

Gov't contractor / scanning technician - it's not stressful, in itself anyway... it's just the most boring job in the entire world and I want to cry all 40 hours of my work week.

In all honesty, I wouldn't like that either.
I like to be steady busy, where the eight (usually more) hours move along quickly but not like I feel I'm two hours behind in everything.

How about Pawn Shop owner? lol

I listen to pity parties most of the day = makes my life seem better
I make 100% profit on most sales = pays the bills + play money
On occasion, I get to see and even buy unique items = My house has a few unique items
I play around on MFP some of the day = during slow times of the day I can do push ups and sit ups whenever I feel like it
When the economy is bad, I make good money off of monthly interest on loans = when economy is good, my sales increase.

Stressful? no way and wouldn't change careers for anything!
