    I might try to start crying on the spot to make them feel super bad. Or I'd show them how pissed off I am and maybe throw my food at them
    As long as we're going down that road, how about eating a few more plates and then projectile vomiting all over the miscreants?

    It sucks that people are that way and it sounds like you really care about your friend. I know it's really difficult and awkward to stand up to people that are rude, especially when you are doing it on someone else's behalf BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE! I hope next time you'll politely tell these people what they are doing is wrong, instead of feeling sorry for your friend later and probably wishing you had said something at the time.
