    German - German all the way back. American by birth MN. Great grandparents on my fathers side settled in Canada..they thought it was too cold and immigrated to North Dakota. Ha Ha! Moved to Colorado when I was ten. Love it!

    Norwegian, also born in MN. Family first moved to Wisconsin, then up to the Iron Range in northern MN, then south to Albert Lea, then by the time I came around, all setle in central MN.

    As for where my folks came from, I did the Ancestry DNA thing, which came back:
    36% Central European (from family history, that is almost all German, except 1 French branch)
    32% British Isles (from family history, at least half that is Scots-Irish)
    14% Scandinavian
    12% Eastern European
    6% Other...which I know from family history is Cherokee
