I'm starting from a similar standpoint...most of my friends don't believe I'm 167 at 5'2 but I've managed to 'hide' the belly and back fat well...until bikini season comes around of course SO NO MORE HIDING FOR ME!
Awesome progress and weight loss girl, you're my inspiration now!!Let's call these befores->Okay SRS face->5 pounds after serious face.
Pushing 170 back in February. That's my "You can't see how big I really am" cover up and "my hair is red! Distraction from the rest of me!" weave.
161, deciding I'm gonna start picking up heavy things. PS, is bad at posing
155.4, having picked up heavy things for about five weeks. Most of the change is in my back. Also look how my bikini bottoms are no longer creeping up my crack! I actually wear them outdoors now.
And I'm at 150.8 now, and a comfortable medium/size 6 (or a 4 at old navy. Old Navy, boosting dat self esteem with lies) so I went and bought my happy behind a new dress. It replaces a dress (also a medium) that I busted the seams on a few months prior. Remember folks, you are not a sausage and clothes only have so much stretch.
Edit: I'm about 5'3", give or take how much I'm lying to myself that day. My ID says 5'5"; that was a big self delusion day.0 -
I'm 5'3 trying to lose at least 50-70lbs. Not sure how I'll feel once I get there. I really haven't thought about mini rewards, but once I drop under 200 I plan to get a new tattoo. Mini rewards might end up being things like cute workout tops or something to keep me motivated.0

My friends and family are the same way! They all tell me I look fine and I don't need to lose weight! It drives me crazy! I'm 5'2 and at 159.6 so I have at least a good 30 lbs that need to go! It would be nice to have support from friends and family but they all think I look fine. I'm the only one that disagrees! Definitely makes the process a little harder...at least for me.I'm starting from a similar standpoint...most of my friends don't believe I'm 167 at 5'2 but I've managed to 'hide' the belly and back fat well...until bikini season comes around of course SO NO MORE HIDING FOR ME!0

How did most of you start losing weight and how long did it take. BTW I work out everyday for about 1 hour and a half but i have only lost 2lbs in 3 weeks :frown:
2 pounds in 3 weeks is actually a very good, healthy rate of loss. Be proud, be very proud.
I'm 5'0", my heaviest weight was 169, started MFP almost a year ago at 163, currently 150 (have been for months), but I've lost a lot of inches. More than I realized until I uploaded a couple pictures today. Profile pic was taken this morning (7/12/13). There is a pic in my profile (I'm wearing a white shirt) that was taken roughly 2 years ago where I think I look huge. When all is said and done, I don't care what my final 'weight' is as long as it looks good. I've lost 13 pounds since I started on MFP, but the majority of my physical changes have occurred in the last few months when I'd lost nothing scale-wise. Thank you weight lifting!0 -
I am 5'3 and my stats are as follows:
Starting weight: 193 lbs
Current weight: 172.2 lbs

Weight lost so far: a little over 20 lbs.
Feel free to add me0 -

I believe this is true to a degree. On the one hand we're short so people 'see' us as smaller. (Even now people guess about 130 as my weight, and when I was 135 I got 120-125 alot) but on the other hand when we gain it's obvious to everyone around us. Put on five pounds and Everyone knows just by glancing at you.
Then again when we lose that's also very obvious. So. ...Being short is awesome on a 2-1 ratio?0 -
I have a feeling this is going to be a short thread.
This really made me LOL!!!

Dr says I am 5'3"--BUT he lies---I am 5'4 !!! Just started my weight loss and after seeing ONE picture of me online--there will NOT be another until I am done. KNEW I had a backside--but did NOT know I had a fat azzzzzz !!! New azzzzz in the works, AND I already have a designer dress and a pair of expensive shoes to match just waiting. Sometimes when I get discouraged I go in a touch them for a bit, THEN it is back to work0

Hey, my first post on mfp!!
I'm 5.3 and weight 9st.10lbs (136lbs) and wear a uk size 12. Could be slimmer but love my treats too much, looking to tone rather than lose weight.0 -
I'm 5'2 and had a baby 3 months ago. I lost all 32lbs I gained from my daughter but am looking to lose another 45. My treat for losing the first 39.5 (which puts me at my half way point) will be a new pair of shoes. I hope to have them by the end of August. :happy:0

5'2. I drink a growler of good beer for every 15 pounds I lose. Not all in one sitting, of course. Currently enjoying a glass of Rock Bottom IPA right now!0

I don't have any before pics up. My heaviest was about 18 years ago when I graduated HS, 145 pounds (until I was nine months pregnant in January 2011 - I weighed in right about the same). My profile pick is me at about 107 pounds. I'm 5'2".0

I am 5'1. I want to loose 40-45 pounds, I have already lost 10. My ultimate reward is a beautiful tattoo on my torso. But I would love to think up some smaller rewards as I meet benchmarks on the way to my final goal.... haven't thought of anything yet, though!0
-
4'8 with a 100+ lbs to lose.I've just started here so no before/after pics.I don't think there's many pics of me around and if there are I'm the one holding my hand in front of my face or standing behind the tall chick.Things are gonna be different nxt year tho.0

and here
Same dress, around 125 lbs here
Still have about 10-15 lbs to go (depending on body composition), but I'm getting somewhere!
ETA: I'm 5'3"!0 -
I'm 5'0" and started at 152 in the last week of February of 2013. Portion control has never been my problem, simply what I eat. I switched to a plant based whole foods (vegan) diet in February and lost my first 20 lbs without any effort at all. I've added in cardio and have lost another 3 lbs, and am now 129. Now I simply keep track of my calories to see if the calories I'm eating is what I should be eating. I've found that if I eat a ton one day, I'll naturally compensate the next day. At this point, I'm not reducing anything, just watching and seeing what happens!0
-
I'm 5'1" and I am 110 pounds...Goal weight is 98-100 pounds. No pics for now, and I plan to treat myself after I reach my goal! Hopefully won't gain my pounds back right away though because I am going to treat myself some sweet treats.0
