What can you do now that you couldn't do 30 days ago?

In the last week, I've shaved a minute off my mile time. It's still only 10:31 but I couldn't do that a week ago. I also have some shorts that I could barely squeeze into the beginning of the summer and now are too big!! How about you, what's changed or can you now do that you couldn't 30 days ago?

A month ago, I was still struggling to become a runner, to grasp "go slower to go farther" and learning how to set a steady pace. Now, I can run at a 10:30 min/mile pace for twenty-plus minutes.

A month ago, my clothes had just started to get loose. Now, they're so loose that I'm ready to get belts to hold my pants up.

    A month ago, I weighed 180. Now I weigh 174.

Just four weeks is enough to make a big change in your life!

    Run a block.
Bike 12 minutes (even up a small hill).
Fit down a narrow staircase at the children's museum - without turning sideways - and then down the narrow slide :)
Climb this hill where I work called "cardiac hill" and recover before I enter the building I was headed to (that has NEVER happened).

I love these..way to go everyone! Wonder where we'll all be in 30 days from now! Think it's important to remember these victories when the scale might not be moving as fast as we'd like. Thanks for the motivation to keep on going!

Dead lift 95 lbs. (80 was my max). Do 10 pushups without stopping for a breather (and then stack 5 repeats of those together!). Flip a tractor tire 51 times in 4 minutes.
    WOOT!

I'm in love with this thread! I'm only on day 36, so this is a reminder of how I've come even if it's small in comparison to how far I will go. 30 days ago, I could only do 3 push-ups and now I'm up to 15 and I can endure all the leg lifts during my Slim in 6 workouts. I can flex and see tiny little muscles budding there! I can say I've lost 7.1 pounds :)
Like I said, I've only made a small dent into my fitness journey, but I have come pretty far!

This is an amazing post! :)

I can jog for 5 minutes straight thanks to Couch 2 5 K. Four months ago I really struggled with 60 seconds at Week 1...
I can walk and sing out loud at the same time without getting winded (my friends have noticed).
I can run after a bus without then collapsing on the seat and drowning in sweat (eeeewwww).
I can close my belt on the 5th hole now instead of the 2nd.
I can truly tell myself that the guy who dumped me back in May would be sorry now if he saw me :) it wasn't the reason I came here, but it really helped with getting over the heartbreak and focusing on myself instead of him while recovering.

Run 10k! I could do 5, but 10 seemed like it was months away.

Wear a pair of slacks that were too small when I first purchased them a year ago.

    Good thread!

I can do 3 partial chin ups. I have to jump to get them started but can actually pull my bodyweight up the rest of the way.

Proper push ups and mountain climbers. Just finished 30 Day Shred this morning and couldn't do either when I finished it last year, so pretty chuffed with myself. Still can't do rock star jumps though, pfft :grumble:
