Your number one reason to lose weight

Mainly to feel better in general, to feel healthy. But another reason is that I'm just tired of being big. I've gone up and down all over the place and it is frustrating. And also, to maybe attract a boyfriend.0

To look good sitting down, which is what I do all day at work, and standing up.0

It was an attempt to make my surgically repaired ankle not hurt so much all the time.0

I think my number one motivation is my clothes. I have so many that don't fit, and slowly I've just been replacing them and hiding them at the back of my wardrobe - but a while ago my bike jeans were really tight, and those things are expensive so I can't just replace them! My waterproof trousers are also tight, and they were about £200 so I need to be able to fit in them by winter. It got to the point where my clothes were spoiling my bike rides, or even putting me off because I didn't want the hassle of getting dressed. I even made myself a button extender out of a hair bobble as I couldn't fasten my jeans! Now, the button will do up properly, although they're a little bit tight - but soon they will fit better!
I also have the motivation that I get back pain from arthritis, and if I was smaller it may not be as bad. But for me that's not a huge motivator, as it's only a MIGHT - I've been smaller before and still had pain.Whereas I know that if I am smaller my clothes will fit.0 -
#1 - To feel sexy in my own skin.
Other reasons; To be healthier, to fit into clothes better, to be a faster runner, to have more opportunities in my career.0 -
To be healthier, finding clothes that fit well and look nice! Finally tracking my food and really real like that is helping me to realize what and how much I have been actually eating!0

...because I literally cannot afford to outgrow my wardrobe anymore. I'm down to a handful of slapped-together outfits in which I look presentable and/or feel comfortable. Clothes are the last thing I have room in my budget for. Being tall (and in denial) it took a while for me to acknowledge the 40ish pounds that crept up on me over the past 4-5 years, until recently when I admitted to myself that my pants indeed were getting a little more than "suspiciously snug." The last straw was when I recently had to add an extender tab to my bra band...
Oh yeah, and health and longevity and all that good stuff, too.0 -
I can't buy a 20 lbs lighter sled this year so I need to be a twenty lbs lighter rider!. Oh and I want to be smokin hot naked.0

My doctor put the fear of disease in me.0
-
So I don't die.0

I want to live!0
-
I want to run faster / easier0
-
So I am no longer limited to buying clothes that look like shower curtains.0
-
I like to be able to move better. My joints ache and I feel like I have less body strength. Getting older and being overweight is tough on the body.0

My knee was giving me so much grief that I finally realized that if I didn't get active and keep moving I would in all likelihood end up having surgery and ending up in a wheel chair. I want to enjoy my kid free years and have energy and motivation to run around with the grand kids when they eventually arrive. Yeah and no hurry on those grand kids either please.0

For my health, for how good it makes me feel, the energy it gives me.
Second, for my appearance.0 -

I want to be able to outrun zombies in the event that another ascomycota fungi evolves/mutates and takes over our bodies.

That game is just *falls to knees* the best.0 -
Because the migraine meds I had been on caused me to put on 45 lbs in like 3 months. And that really alarmed me, I didn't wanna have to buy any new clothes and I noticeably felt crappier and less energetic. I had my Dr switch my meds and have been logging calories and consistently working out and have lost something like 34.8 lbs now wanna get bk down to where I was before putting on weight and even a little more than that and put on some extra muscle. Also I wanna feel comfortable wearing dresses and that and not being in shape makes that really hard especially since I am very short so if I put on weight its easier to notice.0

My #1 reason is to be healthy. I have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and hypothyroid, when I started mfp I was in bed 3xs or more a week. I hurt all over, fell asleep in mid sentence and basically didnt have a life, also high blood pressure and high chlesterol. Now I can live life, no more high blood pressure and no more high chlesterol and no more days in bed. Wow now I have my life back.....what a great reason to lose weight0
-
Because I want to look on the outside what I feel on the inside.
Because I don't want to be heavy for the rest of my life.
Because I want to be able to do more in life than I can do now. Not have so much difficulty doing things I am uncomfortable doing now.0 -
My main reason was to tighten up my body. I loved my curves and knew I had potential so I went to work!0

To look good next to my sexy weight lifting husband.0

So that I can ride my bicycle up hills even faster. I'm a pretty good hill climber now, but if I were 10 pounds lighter, I'd be uncatchable.
Also, just to prove to myself that I can do it.0 -
I'm going to grad school next fall and I don't want to be the fattest girl in the room anymore.
I don't want to worry if I can fit into a desk, car seat, airplane seat, or rollercoaster.
I'm tired of my knees and ankles hurting at 21 years old.
I'm young and have some chance of my skin bouncing back if I lose the weight now.
I want to feel like I deserve to be loved.0 -
So what about all of you? What is your number one reason for losing weight?
I was fat.0
