Ooh, I wanna join!
October goals: lose 7 pounds (to put me down at 140 even) and be ready to move to level 3 of the 30 day shred.
I'm currently on level one, and I tried out level 2 today, because parts of level one are easy now. Definitely NOT ready for level 2 yet. Those walking push-ups are killer. Grow, arm muscles, grow!
On some days I work out twice a day, and I'm looking to incorporate something else into my work out (at this point I'm doing 30ds twice a day 3 times a week, and once a day on the other days). Does anyone have any ideas of a good dvd to replace the 30 Day Shred for one of my workouts on the double workout days? I really like the 30 Day Shred because it's just straight forward exercise; I'm not really a fan of dancing dvds and stuff because they make me feel silly :P0 -
Jillian has another one called No More Trouble Zones. Its set up just like 30 Day Shred just longer and more work.0

All my real-life buddies doing fitnesspal have shlagged off and my will to keep going is always teetering on the brink. I noticed another October challenger is doing TurboFire. I just got mine 2 days ago! I was doing WiiFit and the EA Active programs before trying P90X, which was terrible. TurboFire makes P90X seem like a walk in the park. Hopefully I can get some results, my weight hasn't changed in almost 2 months. This is probably because I eat Hagen Dazs almost every day... in any case, my goal is to lose 8 pounds this month.0

I think what Miss_Amy is trying to say is that in order to keep things organized "up in here", if you want in on the challenge please copy the LIST OF NAMES and add yours to the bottom, with your goal. When you make some progress and feel like updating, copy the ENTIRE LIST again and add your progress to it There are so many people already it's really hard to keep track!

I'll start.
My name is Amy (if you couldn't tell from my name on here lol), I'm 24, and I'm definitely too chubby for my twenties! I've been chubby my whole life. I'd say high school was definitely the time I was most in shape, still technically overweight, but I felt good and looked my best. Once I started working, I stopped playing sports and the weight packed on. Then college came around, and I partied.... a lot. haha Lots of beer & bad food choices. I put on a lot weight in a span of 4 years. Even once I graduated I still put on a few more pounds. I think I was in denial. I figured, hey, I'm already out of shape, what does it matter? Bad idea. After a doctor's appointment in July, I came to a realization, finally! How did I let myself get this bad? Where had my confidence gone? So here I am. I found this site right around the time I decided to change for good. I've lost 15 1/2lbs in 2 months. I'm slowly starting to get my confidence back. This site is great! I still have about 85lbs to go (yikes!) but I'm taking it one day at a time. I WILL lose this weight and be happy for the rest of my twenties!!
I've set quite a few mini-goals for myself since I have a long journey, but I feel like I can achieve them (or at least get close, which I still will be happy with!). I am excited to share my journey with all of you.

I finally decided I have to take this serious again since I gained a little weight the last few months, it is only 7 lbs but I know how hard it was to lose those in the first place!! I am going to cook at home more often and make sure that I don't go over my cals 6 days a week. I am giving myself 1 free day. I start training for my next triathlon in November and I would love to start it feeling great and thin again! Everyone add me! I need motivation! I also started a food/fitness blog on my own if anyone wants to check it out.

A bit about myself:
I was overweight/chubby all my life - around age 9 I started gaining weight and then struggled through middle school and most of highschool as the "chubby best friend". In highschool I lost some weight due to illness and got down to a size 11/12 - the thinnest I can ever remember being, and my confidence level was about a 60% - certainly the highest it was until recently. I ended up going away to University at age 17 and maintaining my size 12 through freshman and sophomore year until a really bad break up, after which I put on an additional 20lbs or so. I hovered between size 14-16 (between about 170 and 190lbs) through the remainder of University and into Graduate school. After several life changing decisions, I had left academia, quit my job, moved back home and was broke, unemployed and wanting to start a new life for myself...
So I decided to TAKE CONTROL - In Oct 2009 I finally got ahold of my life. I quit drinking (haven't had a drink since) and smoking (ugh, still cheat on occasion - guilty as charged), starting eating healthy and the weight started dropping! I wasn't too strict about it but my body took well to the changes and by March 2010 I was down nearly 30lbs. In March, I decided I wanted to start running - I wanted to feel, look and act like a "runner". I had always admired their endurance and motivation, but I am not one to "stick with it" when I don't at first succeed, so I had my doubts. It was REALLY hard but I managed to keep at it and bit by bit I improved. It took months, literally, to see any real progress, but finally things are coming full circle.
I've lost 50lbs to date and will be running my first 5k race next Monday (Oct 11). On Sat Oct 30th, I'll be running to complete my first ever 10k. I am now a total ADDICT! I am also a complete foodie and my addiction to cooking and trying new foods has helped my weight-loss substantially. I eat everything fresh, from scratch, and almost never eat out. I am here to lose that final 5-10lbs, to make improvements to my cardio and endurance, and feel great about my body and what it's capable of!
