Curious how many calories you ladies eat per day? Also, do you eat back your exercise calories? I am 5'8 and eat 1800.... I am breastfeeding which uses about 500 calories a day so I try to get between 1500 - 2000. I'm losing weight slowly so I feel like this an ok number for me.

Not enough. Rest days I aim for 1500, workout days 2200 - 3000. Seldom to I meet my goals though :(. I have a bad habit of coffee for breakfast and skipping dinner.

I gross between 2000-3000, depending on that day's workout. Net 1600-1800.

ETA: I'm 5'7", lifting heavy and training for a half marathon, so very active.

1350 non-exercise day, 1400-1700 exercise day (if I'm hungry, I'll eat my exercise cals back, if not... then I don't! but I usually only burn about 300-400 calories on exercise days anyway).

    ETA: 5'4", ~170 lbs

I'm 5'8" and kickbox as exercise. I eat between 1800-1900 a day and don't eat the exercise calories back. I have been losing about a pound a week.
  • 1580 plus whatever calories I burn that day.

I used to be on 1440 but I find that the 140 calorie increase really helped me feel satisfied and I'm still losing at the same pace!

    ETA: I'm 5'7"

    My MFP goal is 1330. I go up to 1500 if I exercise. (I don't so super-strenuous workouts.) I'm 5'5" and 209 lbs.

I average it out over a week instead of doing the "up and down" thing with the calories. My personal daily goal is 1650 and that's with an anticipated weight loss of 1 pound a week. (This accommodates for rest days and for high activity days. I exercise roughly 5-6 days a week.)

Edited to add: I'm 5"3" and currently weigh 151.

I'm 5' 0" and I eat about 2000 cals per day. Desk job + heavy lifting.

I'm set to lose .5 pounds per week because I'm breast feeding. At my height and current weight that puts me just under 1800 calories a day. I log the amount of milk I pump, which is about 60oz a day, ad that means I need an extra 1200 or so calories. I'm not currently exercising, but when I do, I eat my exercise calories. I have a really hard time meeting my goal with the extra calories though. I generally net around 1300-1400 calories.

    1200
  • ok...so I'm VERY NEW to dieting and I'm apparently clueless to what I'm suppose to be doing but how can you eat so many calories and still lose weight? I thought you ate less calories=weight loss? I workout out guaranteed for 30 minutes of the 30DS and i try to jog/run/walk at least 2x/week. My calorie goal is 1100. Is that right?

  • Everyone's BMR and TDEE are different, so does it really matter how much every one else is eating?

I'm on maintenance so I eat my TDEE of 2,600 per day. Train strength 3x per week, walk about 10-12k steps through daily living.
