Name I go by, Resa, is apparently VERY uncommon and most people look at me funny when I introduce myself.

Last name is moderately common, but I'm ok with it because I can trace my dad's family back to signing the constitution and then a general in the Civil War. :)

My name is only uncommon for a person of my age. Get down to 20 somethings and teenagers -- and younger -- and it's pretty d*** popular.

My first name, Lucy, isn't all that common anymore. It's not precisely uncommon, but it's just really old. My middle name is even older. I was named after my grandmothers.

My last name is far more common as a first name than a last name.

I hate my MFP name and one day I'll get around to changing it.

There's only 45 people in USA that share my name. They are all male! (I'm not!)

Never seen another Guinivere on here tho....

My real life name is far too common, I believe that there were like 4 girls in my grade with the same name... My screen name, not so much... random letters and numbers aren't super trendy screen names.

2 most common last name in the united states and my first name is Amy. I'm sure it's not very unique.

I wanted to use my usual username "peach sky", but it was already taken. So I used punkyrachel instead. I hate my 1st name because it is way too common. I had 11 Rachel's in my graduating class, very confusing.

My first name is actually Magdalen, which is moderately rare because it's not Magdalene or Magdalena as usual.

My first name isn't common at all, I think I've only heard of one or 2 others, it's Julene.
My last name is not overly common, but you do hear it. I'll give you a clue, an actor has the same last name as I do.

Not common at all. So uncommon that people really avoid trying to pronounce it mainly because they don't know how to.

    Same boat.

There are 69,694 people in the US with my first name, 8,943 people with my last name and only one other person with the same name. Wonder where she is??
  • 0.004% of females in the US have my first name.

    #16 most common last name

0.273% of last names in the US for my last name..

0.001% of last names in the US maiden name.. last name.

16 of me in the us.... and I'm the only one w/ my maiden name.

    13,145 of my husbands name..

So, I guess my birth name is pretty uncommon.
  • My nickname is Mickey, or just Mick, because almost nobody ever pronounces my real name correctly - Michele - Italian version of Michael. It's pronounced like Me-kay-el. I'll bet you can guess how most people want to say it.

According to the how many of me web site -
There are fewer than 1,584 people in the U.S. with the same first name.

There are fewer than 118 people in the U.S. with the same last name.

There are 1 or fewer people in the U.S. with the same first and last name.

I'm surprised that many people with my last name, it's absolutely unique and I have only 3 relatives with this last name in the USA. I wonder who those other 114 people are...

On these forums, I'm pretty sure neither my first name nor my last name are common.
Where I live, though, my first name is pretty common.
    My first name's Mieke.

IRL, more common than I thought. I remember looking up my name on a wedding registry and being appalled at how many me's are out there; both first & last name. On MFP, unique because I'm using an actual name.
