Can someone, anyone, please name the "toxins" that we all need to be cleaning from our body?
I hear that word tossed around so much, but I never hear any specifics. What chemical compounds are building up in our internal organs that we need to cleanse? What is going on in there that our kidneys, liver, and digestive system can't handle?
I would really love to know specifically what toxins are causing such issues that (the collective) we need to be concerned about them. Please show support (link to an article or something) for your claims.
Thank you!

...and I don't even need support for your claim. Just give the name of even one...ONE toxin that is eliminated from your body by following a regimen of juice for X days.0 -

Someone once (who apparently was a personal trainer and tossed herself out there as a nutrition expert) told me sodium ...
Now, obviously, if you have certain medical conditions or seriously overdo it, sodium can be harmful. But it's also a necessary electrolyte that we'd die without.0 -

So how does a "cleanse" remove the chemicals from second-hand smoke from your body?0 -
I buy an herbal supplement from a friend and at lot of claims they make (that I obviously don't believe) is that it rids your body of toxins. One woman with PCOS even said it was making her break out badly, the distributor told her the toxins leaving her body that caused the acne. :noway: I was livid.
B12 makes me break out so I would assume it was something more along those lines.0 -

25 mph. Now what does that have to do with toxins?0 -

There was a doctor on the news the other morning talking about juice cleanses. He said over a prolonged period of time, they're incredibly dangerous and you will become malnourished and sick. He said he was OK with, for a few days and no more, replacing one meal a day with juice.
And he said the "detox juices" you can buy are dehydrating and dangerous.0 -

But pure sodium explodes in water--clearly this is harmful and can only be prevented through cleanses.

About as much as dietary cleanses. OP asked for toxins to be concerned about that the body doesn't get rid of naturally, so I provided toxins. OP wants to talk about cleanses instead, so Monty Python.0 -
