TAXMOM9093 - I *love* bonus miles!!!!! They're my absolute faaaaaaavorite! Maybe I should set my goal next month at 10 so I can hit goal on the 3rd day and then the rest is gravy!

Um Dave, you really don't want to give me permission to do that.
Back at the beginning of the month I really debated the wisdom of my 150 mile goal.:noway:  After all, I had never walked that far in a month before.:noway:  But, with your and teamamelia's and janet's and others encouragement I went for it. :drinker:
The month started out really well.  And then :grumble: life happened. Last week I really wasn't sure I would make my goal at all.  But you all kept encouraging me. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: And....I made it  .
So yeah, I like bonus miles.:drinker: But I wouldn't have come this far if I hadn't set my goal higher than I thought was likely.
So, for those of you who are sure you can't reach your goal this month, JUST DO YOUR BEST :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: . Yes, I wanted my goal but even if I had come up short I still would have been moving  .0 -

For the record, TAXMOM.....I never doubted you'd make it for even a second. :drinker: Congrats on a huge, well-earned accomplishment!
And as far as where I set my goals each month....my brain works so oddly. The months where I've made goal early and end up getting in bonus territory....I start piling up more miles like a mad man and end up with a larger total than I would've if I had set my goal higher to begin with. I have a couple vague, unformed theories, but I don't want to overthink it. I've found that setting the number at a moderate level is what accomplishes the task of keeping me in the game of moving consistently and at a minimum acceptable level for me....and the process of doing extra makes me feel so happy and good about myself that it fuels me to do more & more!
But that's one of the MANY* beauties of his challenge  Thankfully there's not just one way to do it. And when anyone finds what works for them...whatever helps them accomplish their fitness goals....that is truly a personal victory. :flowerforyou: That is my hope for each and every one of you. Not just to reach your mileage goals, but that this challenge helps in some way for you to realize your fitness goals as well.
Dave

A couple runs late in reporting, and good chance this will be it for the month. Got a six mile run in in the evening on Thursday, six mile run in on Sunday, four mile run in monday, and nine mile run in today. Unfortunately didn't realize how close I was to hitting tripple digits until I put it all back in my log after today's run or I'd have gone a little farther! Will see if I have time tomorrow to get in a run or not...

ANACONDA469!!!!!! Don't tell me you believed them???? :brokenheart: That is SOOO UNBELIEVABLY UNTRUE!!! This person that said that has no idea what they are talking about! What is more likely true is that they are jealous that you're doing something good for yourself and they don't want to feel like a lazy *kitten* for NOT doing anything.....And rather than them getting off of their own *kitten*, it's easier for them if they get you to stop making them look bad.
YOU LISTEN TO ME. DON'T YOU DARE STOP NOW! YOU ARE DOING EXACTLY THE RIGHT THING!
SO mad right now that anyone would say that to you... :explode: :explode:
You stick with it, okay? :flowerforyou:
Dave0 -
.......okay..... *deep breaths*....
Gonna try to bring it back around here.... ANACONDA469, you are one of the reasons why we're *going* to break that old record! We are wwithin *177* miles now!!!
And I want to congratulate BLUES4MILES on blowing past her goal!!! You just need to run ONE MORE TENTH of mile tomorrow.....

I hope this is now a former friend. People are difficult enough to deal with but unsupportive ones have to go. Look at your ticker, how can anyone say that?0 -
