This was me almost two years ago at my highest postpartum weight. I am 5'3 and a half and weighed around 140 lbs. My belly fat remained even after I shed thirty pounds.

These were taken about a week ago. I am currently a little less than 101 pounds. Thanks to religious calorie-tracking and working out six days a week, I am back down to a size 0. But I still have belly fat. I hear it's the last to go...

I am still very much a work in progress and have lost about 6 pounds these were taken, but this is what a 15-pound loss looked like on my apple shape. I don't look too much like an apple any longer, I would like to think I look more like an hourglass now. I ate slightly above my BMR and took up weight training. That's how I did it :)

    I'm 5'5''
Wow you look so different! Good job

These are great before and afters! What was the biggest help? Eating healthier or a specific exercise? I know both are important but I'm curious to know what changes you made.

For my first 25 lbs I just stuck to the mfp calorie limit, and I made sure to get enough proteins and watch fats and sodium, but at a certain point that stopped working as well. Since then I've also been working out at least 3 times a week. (For now, two or three days are 30-45 mins on the elliptical and 30 minutes of strength exercises like the leg press, the low row, and crunches, and the third or fourth day is 90 minutes of yoga).

I am an apple, inverted triangle (same thing?) body type. I gain weight in my stomach, back and arms. I also have treated hypothyroid.

My first picture is me in my early 20's not the best picture of me overweight but seeing as how I don't keep bad pictures of myself this is the best I can do. I few years later I was probably another 10-20 pounds heavier. I am 5'9" and at my heaviest I was 195lbs possibly more, at the time I didn't want to find out.

My after picture is me 33 at 157lbs, where I currently am at. That picture was taken around March 2013.

I am an apple (tummy and arms are the worst). My weight fluctuates, but I seem to lose in my thighs and butt and nowhere else. This makes my jeans look like they fit horribly. I don't want a muffin top, so I get jeans large enough for the waist and then they SAG in the butt and thighs. Anyone else have this problem? It looks horrible.

Also, my arms are possibly worse than my belly. It's like they are a magnet for fat. They seem out of proportion to the rest of my body in fact. They're just fat collectors. I've been weight lifting and they don't look as flabby, but they still look too big in proportion to everything else. And you only see the "definition" I've gained if I flex. Since I don't walk around flexing, they just look like thick undefined arms instead of flabby arms. Still not a good look. :-(
  • I feel your pain! My arms are the exact same way!
