    Breakenridge is my vote too.

Vail is a lot more expensive and right on I-70.

I am going to suggest Silverthorne, CO. Close to Breckendridge and Vail but a little less touristy.

Come to Vail, Colorado. Its beautiful during Fall and Winter.
I loved my skiing holiday in Vail! The slopes were fab!

Personally, I say save your money and enjoy the sand and sun.

Snow is wet and cold. The romantic ideal picture of snow never meets up to your expectations. The first time boogers freeze to your scarf cause your nose is running you wont like it. Nope it's flu season and scraping car windows in 32deg F trying to get to work at 6am.

Sorry cold isnt fun to me, but if you want to go i'm sure there are some great spots not far from you in like VA or the Northeast.

Go skiing in Colorado or maybe go to somewhere out in Scandinavia-land during the winter. :O My sister and her ex went to Iceland in January once and she said the fjords were the most beautiful things she'd ever seen, and she hates winter. Or possibly go to the Faroe Islands!

    Oh! California for sure!

There are some pretty snow spots around here. Lave Tahoe. I'm not far from Mammoth a lot of good skiing there. In my back yard is the tallest Mt in the continental US, but not a lot of skiing up there.

100% agree. I grew up in the Tampa area and moved to Nebraska. It's pretty like the first day it falls, then that's it! I say if you want to see snow, go somewhere you can just fly over and wave

Oh, I just loved my snot-encrusted scarf as a kid!
Yeah, it was fun to play in as a kid but no fun working a double shift overnight when your fellow nurses can't make it to work... :noway:

I love my ADKs, but if you've never skied before and want to try, go out west. Piles upon piles of fluffy champagne powder... And the mountains are to die for. :)

Somewhere closer to you may be Asheville NC. If you do go the Biltmore Estate is awesome. Very nice scenic area.
