Angry with Husband

Get a little sign and write "If anyone besides ACHRYA eats this, it will be the LAST thing that person eats, so you better ENJOY it."
I like this idea too. I may employee it after tonight.
He's heading home now, stopped at the store for more bacon. He will come home to find me making chicken stirfry with udon noodles. He will sit down, happily about to enjoy his meal, and ask if I can grab a coke from the frig. And I will whisper back
"there is no coke."0 -

Seems extreme.
Also his parents are still on the life insurance policy. So. That's a thing.0 -

I was nodding with recognition and sympathy and then I got to the grilled cheese bit. Your husband is worse than mine. So here's my idea, head down to the pharmacy and find the biggest boxes and packaging of sanitary products you can find. Chuck out the contents and then hide your food in the empty boxes. No man will ever go near them again.
Your welcome0 -
I use to hate when family members only bought regular ice tea/soda but would drink my diet ice tea/soda when they ran out.
This is the issue really. Runs out of regular soda, drinks my diet stuff. Runs out of muffins, eats mine. Runs out of gelato, eats the slow churned vanilla. These are things he would normally never consider bu all of a sudden he's on them like A. They're the only thing around (not true) B. He can't drive to the store and C. He doesn't know how to cook his own food. Which he does. He makes his own breakfast every morning (I generally am against waking up at 4am to attempt to cook, so he's gotta fend for himself)
I mean, it's bad enough I can't have the 400 calorie muffins he eats, but then he has to nom all of mine too. He clearly doesn't appreciate the large TDEE he's been graced with.
Doesn't this seem like the problem. I understand your frustration and yes the eating the food you put on a plate for yourself is a bit much but it sounds like you do the cooking and shopping (it's called a relationship). Maybe he just needs to know where he *can* go for food. Maybe having a dedicated snack/food cabinet for him (and maybe one that's just your food and you ask him not to eat from it).
Seems like he doesn't realize what the ok to eat snacks are or what the ok to eat food is. My hubby doesn't make food (unless it's hotdogs - because i refuse). But i need to make sure, easy to eat food is available for him. That looks like cereal with milk, tuna fish and bread, hot dogs, cottage cheese, granola bars etc. If you have a bunch of food easily available for him, and he eats yours different story. If he's running out, then maybe buy more. Stock up on non-perishables.
if the worst thing he does is eat food you earmarked for diet, you're doing pretty good.0 -

BRB, placing an order. He actually happens to love gummy bears.
That'll do the trick. True story. :blushing:0 -
Does he have a tapeworm?!0

I think you should make some muffins and pizza dough with loads of SALT in it, then leave them out for hubby to consume....i think after this he may not trust your food and not eat it again!!!!!0

Oh GOD. I ate 2 handfuls of sugar free gummy bears once. WORST PAIN OF MY LIFE.
I was curled up in the fetal position and moaning FOR HOURS.0 -
I believe it is a husband's prerogative to get first dibs on the wife's food. It's one of the few perks there are.0
-
The dirty rat. Can you talk to him? Clearly he has some passive aggressive issues with your nice food.0
-
Apologize if this has already been suggested, but have you given any thought to sabotage? I'll bet after eating six laxative laced muffins, he'll stop eating your food.0
-
WOW! First I just gotta say you sound like an awesome cook! Second, wow, wth? A few months ago we were at my daughters house and my hubby went to the grocery store and bought a bunch of stuff. He clearly told everyone at the house that the almonds were not to be touched by anyone but me because they were my before bed time snack and he did not want me to run out. I was upset with him because I thought he was being rude. After reading your post, he is off the hook on that one! wow.0

There is nothing worse than people who eat your food. All these people on MFP complain about people bringing them food.
No. True anger can be felt when someone EATS ALL YOUR FOOD.
I think you should eat him.
Giggity.
Actually laughing aloud!!0 -
Have you talked to him about this first?0

I'm pretty sure this is my husbands view on the matter as well0 -
1.) tell him (check)
2.) give him his own food/place (check)
3.) do the best you can (check)
4.) move on to more drastic measures (working on it)
seriously- that is MASSIVELY disrespectful- even if he doesn't see it- or think it- it is. He needs to learn it's not acceptable to take someone's food- much less their MOTHERFRACKING BACON.
Touch my bacon and die. we have bacon rules at our house. you are allowed to swipe a peice- but there pretty much better be more somewhere on the plate (we eat lots of bacon so one piece here and there isn't an issue) but if there are only like 4 pieces I cooked- and you fcuking take one- I maybe stab you and slice open your belly to retrieve it.
Sabotage the food- hide the food.
better yet- semi-hide the sabotaged food so he thinks he's literally stealing from you.
The more laxatives the better.0 -
OMG..my husband would be DEAD!!! I am not sure why yours has survived this long....I say leave a milk on the table for him with some nice laxatives for him to steal..I guarantee he would not pull that crap again. As it is, I have to deal with two begging dogs at home and my boss's dog at work that constant hound me for MY food! I try to tell them I don't get alot to eat so I can't give it up...they aren't gettin' it...lol0

My husband is a big eater too. When he makes chili (he is also an awesome cook) I have to take a container and hide it if I want seconds because before I get a chance to eat another bowl, it's gone. Last weekend he made Beef Stroganoff I ate 2 cups, on Tuesday I thought I would eat it again for dinner...gone. Last night I thought that he ate the whole jar of salsa, but I did find it in the back of the fridge (hidden from me, I guess). People are having fun with this, but I feel your frustration!0
-
Seriously though, I'd be mad too. Food is sacred. Do not touch my food unless I have given you permission.
Knowing you, you wouldn't have married a *totally* unreasonable guy. I vote you simply tell him to stop touching your food, or you will delete his most prized WoW character.
This is the type of woman I need in my life. One that will keep you on track. No holds barred, take no prisoners, and sacrifice all that is sacred. Why did you wake up Saran Wrapped to the bed?! Probably, shouldn't have eaten the last Vanilla Fudge Drumstick... QQ0 -

Sounds like he loves food more than you. Some dudes just aren't marriage material.

It's about more than the food. It's a blatant disregard for you, your feelings and your goals.0
-
Have you talked to him about it and let him know how you feel. Forgive me if you answered this already, but I don't have time to read the entire thread, I have a second workout waiting for me before i go to work.0

Yes, be sure to get those gummy bears and act like you eat a few, then walk away for a while and spit them out.0 -
lol i'm not the OP0

Personally when hes eating i would sit there with a fork and take from his plate... no actually i would take his whole plate, maybe put it in the bin. I feel your pain because i live with a shark who constantly circles whenever i have something to eat ><. I cant even eat dinner in peace without him staring at my plate and he has the bigger portion!! I could advise the usual torture (with hold sex, affection, attention and completely ignore him etc..) but he is being incredibly selfish and it sounds like he doesn't give a s**t about you or your feelings. Sit down and have a chat with him and be honest that it is driving you mad and causing a wedge between you two. If he loves you then he will listen, if not then give him a kick up the *kitten*0
