The chew but don't swallow diet. You are permitted to chew all the food you want but have to spit it out and swallow nothing solid, only liquids such as a protein shakes or smoothies.
Believe it or not, that's already been done. Was all the rage in certain circles about 10 years ago.0 -
the bonobo diet
it doesn't matter what you eat, but you have to have sex before eating as a means to facilitate food sharing and not fighting over the food. Plus sex burns calories as we all know, and wild bonobos don't suffer from obesity.0 -
A lot of kids are doing that around here. The cotton ball + OJ thing.
 :frown:
I know, right? Not to be overly sensitive and PMS all over a funny thread, but it'd be really nice to see a new logical diet fad. "You're beautiful how you are; all shapes are welcome - your health is more important than your pant size" and have pictures of women of all races, weights, shapes and sizes who are HEALTHY (which =/= always skinny) in very flattering clothes scattered around the internet.0 -
HCG diet .. the next big thing.0

I think this is just a version of bulimia. :ohwell:0 -
The Alphabet Diet!
It's a 26 day diet plan, where you can eat anything you want - it just has to begin with the letter of the alphabet listed for whichever day of the plan you're at. The catch is that it has to be an actual food, not a brand name. No, you cannot eat Cheetos, or Corn Pops on day 3 (C) , although corn dogs and candy corn would be fine.
Day 1 - A
Apples, avocadoes, apricots, artichokes, Alpaca, Antelope, etc
Day 26 - Z
Zucchini....erm...zuchinni...did I mention Zucchini?0 -
Speaking of Romans...The standard military fare of the Roman soldier included meats such as salted pork, sausage, ham, and bacon. Baked bread, peas, lentils, beans, olive oil and wine also accompanied the troops’ meal. If wine was although not available, a drink known as posca, which consisted of water and vinegar, made –if not a tasteful- an efficient substitute. Even with these seeming improvements, grain continued to supply the majority of the diet, although more high quality protein could be elicited from this food source...

:noway: It's enough to make you spit.0 -
The celery, water and vitamin pills diet. Not sure if that already exists, but it wouldn't surprise me.0
-
The sugar cube and soy bean diet. You eat 3 cups steamed, raw, or milked soybeans three times a day, and two times a day you can melt 3 sugar cubes in your mouth. You get all the carbs, sugars and proteins needed for a perfectly balanced diet, and its in 5 small meals0

did anyone say "Vaping Diet"?
Where you use an e-cigarette when you're hungry? Kinda like when people used to take up smoking to lose or maintain weight.0 -
Ye Olde British sailors diet. You eat meat preserved in salt, plus limes and drink as much rum as you like.
Don't forget the ships biscuits with added vitamin weevil!
It sounds good. Where do I sign up?
:bigsmile:0 -
Homeless Diet aka Found Food Diet. You can only eat leftovers you find laying around at various places. The smaller portions will be the big draw here. Bonus points if you find half eaten gluten free or Greek items!
this is an actual thing but vegan food -- its called Freegan.
Not all freegans are vegans. I have a friend that will dumpster dive cheese pizza.
OMG, I think I just vomited a little...0 -
Oh, that's good! I think it will be this!0

My FIL's GF actually believed that if she ate a small square of dark chocolate and drank a glass of red wine before bed she would lose weight.
I think it was a Dr. Oz "tip."0 -
Next fad diet... tape worms and seaweed diet. The sad part is it's probably already being done... and is probably Dr. Oz approved. :noway:0
-
The NoPro(tm) Diet - No protein at all, low fat and high carbs; because who wants those unsightly muscles?!0
-
I remember the baby food diet, that was awful. I still shudder when I think of it.0

This is fairly close to Fletcherism, a fad of the late 1800s/early 1900s.

fruit juicing and eliminating all sugars...
I've totally cut out sugar myself. I used to put tons of syrup on my pancakes for instance but I use organic local honey now instead!!!
you realize honey has sugar in it, right?
Didnt you know? Sugar-less honey is all the rage (<-sarcasm)0 -
Cat food only diet. How much of THAT do you think you could eat a day?0
-
The kelp-tape diet.
Tibetan Monks make an 8 ft. strip of tape that you swallow over a period of a few days, then pass it over several more days. Pulls all the toxins right out of your body and you get to walk around with a few feet of kelp hanging out your *kitten* for a few days.

I vote this! X days will be fasting days.
Or how about the 1-2-3 diet: Day 1, you eat 1000 calories in 1 meal. Day 2, you eat 500 calories in 2 meals (so 1,000 total). Day 3, you eat 250 calories in 3 meals (750 total).
Or the bird diet. Based on a 10 question survey, find out which bird you should eat like (mmmm....worms, bird food, or road kill?) I mean, when was the last time you saw a fat bird?0 -
The AspireAssist allows patients to remove about 30% of the food from the stomach before the calories are absorbed into the body, causing weight loss.

the Bear Grylls diet
you can only drink wee, ice(glacier), and runnoff/spring/creek/river/swamp water. you may only eat poo, things that eat poo, wild plants, and animals if they are found dead, or you kill them in some form of super macho primitive way.... you also may only "work out" by splunking, swimming in rappeds, cross country hiking, repelling, moutain climbing, and what ever "rim walking" is, but you can only do theese with little to no gear, and absolutly no safty gear, and 3+ well equiped friends to point and laugh at you for the duration of the diet wile filming it0 -
The candy cane diet !0
-
awesome, nobody took mine!
the seeds, sticks and rocks diet. all the fiber you can manage, and rocks to push them down and through you. and with all those minerals going into you, you won't need ANY supplements - ever again!
chickens do it, and they have full breasts and thin legs!0 -

I think you're on to a winner there!0 -
Skinny Smelling Salts - smell your way to thin!
Yummy smells make us salivate and want to eat so it stands to reason stinky smells will repulse us and make us lose our appetite. Just open the vial and take a whiff as needed.
Available in:
Country Skunk
Used Baby Diapers
Chunky Vomit
Bad B.O.
So gross, so funny and sadly so feasible! :ohwell:0
