Don't call me.....

Wow! My husband calls me baby and I him and it doesn't bother either of us. Funny, though, when I asked my son what my name is he said "Mom". I said, "No, what does Daddy call me?" and he replied with "Baby". After several attempts he did, finally, acknowledge he knew my name is Angela. My husband is Spanish and uses Mami a lot, which took me some getting used to as I felt like he sounded like a six-year old talking to his mom.
My friends call each other Sweetie Pumpkin . . . Blech!0 -
Shirley.
You can't be serious....
Love that movie..0 -
Hey babe... yeah babe?... babe, babe, babe!!
I don't like being called pet names by anyone but my family, but I really don't care what one they use.0 -
Dude. I had a guy I was just starting to date call me "dude"....Ummmmm....No. I am not your beer buddy!!0

Big'n. I don't even know if that's how it is spelled, but it sounds like "biggin". A waiter in a Catfish King called me that at my heaviest. I was like, "what the eff did he just call me?"0

Would you prefer to be called Joan, Leslie or Carla? These are the names of his first three wives. Lighten up!0

"Kiddo"
I don't know what's gotten into Mr. Man, but lately he calls me "kiddo" and while I know he is being affectionate.....to me it is borderline condescending..... and here's a very weird one..... it's not that I hate it, but it feels weird when he addresses me by name. I prefer "Sweetie" and "Baby Doll" and even "kiddo" over my name......is that weird? This weekend he called me a "goober"..... I chuckled.
I wonder if he hates when I call him "baby"..... maybe I should drop it. I used to make him "blush" with "papi".....now..... not even close.
And as a side note, now that I have a place to vent..... I don't like being called "girl".....my cousin will do that to me and I hate it...."Hey, Girl! How are you?"
Really!? "Girl!?" This is where I prefer being called by my name.....0 -
I had a radio dispatcher from the UK who used to call me "Luv" with the British accent and it drove me NUTS!! I LOVED the sound of her voice, I would make up reasons to call control just to hear her say it

My ex fiancé called me turtle., and he still does now that we are just friends. I cannot for the life of me remember how this became a thing with us, but I loved it. He would always get me some kind of turtle instead of a teddy bear when he bought me stuffed animals.0

I use to think I didn't like them but I have learned that I just didn't like who was saying them.
From the right man, it is sweet and I love them.0 -
I love any and all of the terms of endearment that my husband uses with me. Baby doll, momma, baby, my love, any of them.
It doesn't offend me when someone off the street calls me love or darlin'. Maybe because I'm in the south and it's extremely common, especially in the more rural areas. I think it's charming.0 -
My name is Melissa and I hate Mel and Missy.
That's funny because if someone can't remember my name they will opt for Michelle!0 -

I hate it when a male in customer service (waiters particularly.) calls me "chief", "boss", or "brah" in a creepy passive-aggressive attempt to be the alpha male of the interaction.0

I cannot stand being called 'baby'. It drives me up the wall when I hear other relationship people call each other 'baby'.
What soppy names could you do without when you're in a relationship? Sweetie? Love?
Do you hate it when people you don't know call you lovvie or sweetie?
Note: Keep it clean people, this thread is about the soppy names, not the rude and crude.
Relax, Honey.0 -
Baby, I can handle after hearing it for three years.
Hun, even after ten years of random people calling me this, I hate it with a passion.0
