You come to Nova Scotia, I'll go to Miami!

Kids are on their 3rd snow day this month. We don't usually get snow until January/February, so this is crazy to me! We're getting another 15cm on top of the 30 that fell on Sunday.

I am not a fan of snow!
  • hahaha this is so funny because as I sit here in Northern ontario Canada with the 3 feet of snow on the ground and -30 C and below temperatures I'm looking at hot destinations to GTFO ...
Northern BC canada like Jasper or Banff are nice!! Have you gone skiing before? do you want to cross country or downhill ski? it's harder then it looks, and sucks when you fall and they get all tangled up while you're face first in the snow bank LOL

When I lived in New York, I dreamed of living somewhere warm without snow. Now that I live somewhere warm without snow, I miss snow. lol

I suggest anywhere in Colorado such as Vail, Winter Park and/or Mary Jane (yes that is the actual name of the mountain). I hear Utah is awesome too, but I've never been. And there's always Canada!

Vermont has some nice mountains such as Stowe and Stratton. Vermont is good if you are a beginner, but the skiing weather is hit or miss. However, it might be a little cheaper than out west.

Wyoming has some good places with fewer people than some other areas.

I feel your pain  I also hear it every now and then again how I fell and my husband was wondering if he should ask the neighbor to get his tractor to get me out :grumble:

This is the Cape Breton Highlands (close to where I am, just higher up) last winter.

I totally agree with Road Dog but if you want to really challenge yourself and risk not getting out till spring... North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan will guarantee their snow. Timberline is one of the most beautiful and historic structures I have ever been to so really, go with Road Dog's advise.

    As many have also mentioned,
Anywhere along the rockies in canada, some great ski hills and some fabulous scenery

    Jasper, Banff, Lake Louise.

Northern Michigan is very lovely in the winter and having lived up until a few months ago I should know. Try Boyne Highlands, Boyne Mountain for skiing, the tunnel of trees, Mackinaw City, Petoskey, Harbor Springs and the small towns in between, you won't be disappointed!!

Completely agree with Western Canada. The Canadian Rockies are stunning.
