November No Late Night Snacking

I can't sleep and feel I need to eat something to fall asleep too sometimes. For the last couple of nights I have been drinking hot water. It seems to be tricking my body. I am always down in the morning if I don't eat at night (so far since I am at the beginning of a diet where the weight just drops and drops).0

Hope you don't mind me joining in. I've ruined many a days calorie allowance by grazing in the evenings. I have been particularly bad for the last two weeks so it will be great to join this challenge. So far for November I have gone over my allowance every day so today I am ME 0/LNS 4.
My cut off time will be 8pm. We eat tea (I live in the UK) early (about 4.30-5.00), so I plan to save my dessert and eat that by 8pm each evening, and stay within my calorie allowance.0 -

blew it big time last night. did great with dinner, had a snack at 7, brushed my teeth and was fine until 9. then i ate everything in sight and woke up this morning and felt like crap!

Went to a LATE movie for my cousin's birthday. Ate dinner before I left but I ended up having a small sample of my cousin food and I got frozen yogurt. It was a lost but I felt I did pretty good because I normally would have eaten a whole meal at the movies and I only got 4 oz of frozen yogurt.
Lets hope tonight is a better night0 -

I won three nights by not having anything after 8! LSN has won 3, and now, 2 nights in a row.
Why can't I whip this thing? I could drink water til it comes out my ears, and exercise until I literally fall over, but eating late is a hard thing to break! I hate it!!!!

This is great. I usually keep something on my nightstand to snack on but after reading this, I've decided to throw it away. No snacks after dinner.0

I definitely want in on this challenge! I've decided that because my snacking is usually a nervous habit of wanting something to do with my mouth, I'm going to allow myself sugarless gum after dinner, but nothing else except water. (I don't like tea.) That will hopefully keep me busy for a long time with one 15-calorie mouthful of gum, and meantime keep me away from the popcorn!0

I am sorta in? Was all psyched to go with it in Nov, got side-tracked and here it is the 8th. I'm going back to a bit more strictness with my diet since I gained two pounds. Best to you all for November!!!!! We need to lose a bit before Thanksgiving gets here. I do anyway. I usually do worse in the winter with the holidays and all. Anybody else notice this? :glasses:0

Yes, winter's tough. Less fresh fruit (you do have some sorts all year, but nectarines taste awful in winter), more cookies , coldness discouraging me to go jogging/biking, short days shortening the walks...0 -

I stopped eating around 4 p.m. last night after a HUGE salad. We even went out to dinner with friends, and I could have used one of my two 9 p.m. nights, but I just wasn't hungry. Hubby ate, so that was one of his late nights.0 -

i would love to join you all in this challenge! i typically dont get home til 630, so dinner is around 7ish. I am going to try not to eat anything after dinners, but allow myself til 9pm on weekends since dinner is a "normal" time then.

Just saw this - I'm in. It's hard, though. Rationally, I can see that I "treat" fatigue and drowsiness with foods, especially
sweets, but the impulse is very strong. I saw someone said they were drinking hot water to trick their bodies. Any other
tips for responding to that empty feeling?
