Happy Tuesday my lovelies
I am sitting at work and wishing I was out stomping in the woods. Very restless today. I think it is because my daughter is sat in Germany, with her baby due on Thursday. Her bf is working away this week (she's in Cologne, he's in Frankfurt) Eek, why am I not with her??
My IBS and gallbladder both decided to be SOBs yesterday. Eventually I gave up and took a hot water bottle to bed - although I was up and down to the bathroom more times than I like to remember.
Today will be a 'kind to my tummy' day and I will eat small and often.
Have a great day my friends.
Love to all.

Good morning beautiful ladies:flowerforyou:
No time to reply today:sad: ....after being off since last Wed. it`s time to get my rear in gear and do some work:frown: !
Had a great time with the grandgirls yesterday ! I let the oldest, she will be 13 next month, drive the car up and down the driveway:noway: , she did very well, the youngest actually told her she was driving too slow and she needed to "floor it and go fast" :noway: , then she told me that`s how she`s going to drive, I told her she wouldn`t be driving my car, or driving me around. She is a little pistol:laugh: !
Michele Have a safe trip to FL!!!!
Thinking of you all and sending wishes for a lovely Tuesday ! Drink your water:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: and log your food!!!
Hugs,

morning ladies,
snowing here again today~ gee isn't that unusal:huh:
don't go into work until 10:30 so have a load of laundry in,and got the DH dinner and lunch ready ,
again I havent gotten the urge to go to the gym, I feel like a slug,I am not giving up in the least, but just have not really not gotten into the exercise thing. I am trying to log everything, and try and eat correctly, but I am human, and sometimes I slip:frown:
I just want spring,I want the peeper's peeping, the birds singing and the smell of spring in the air..0 -
Self-sabotage has resulted in a two pound gain this morning. ???? Need to get back to the gym and serious about my logging!
Snowing hard here today ... husband just called on his way to work to tell me roads are treacherous again. He commutes 100 miles several days a week ... so he knows. I'll need the truck today. Snow blowing is a good calorie burn! ????
Have a great day.
Beth, WNY0 -
Did 1 hr of the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds DVD today. Tomorrow I'll probably go to a step class at the Y down in FL.
Well, we're getting ready to shut off servers, etc. Then going to leave
Joyce - so sorry you aren't going to your daughter's
Gotta skim, Vince is impatient to turn off the server
Love Jason's Deli. They have such good things there

Bodypump yesterday, and Bodycombat with an extra half-hour of core workout today. My usual Tuesday workout. This is where I tell myself that the discomfort I subject myself to today is a gift I am giving to my future self to enjoy. Heave ho! Everyone have a great day.

Good morning! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and there is no more snow! All melted and gone. Temps in the upper 50's...till next week when winter comes roaring back.
Hubby had his doctor's appointment yesterday and found out the EKG taken during his sleep test showed that he has a Second Degree Block. Apparently that is not the same as a blocked artery. It's something to do with electrical impulses. He is wearing a holter monitor today, and waiting to get an appointment with a cardiologist. He doesn't remember if the doc said it was type 1 or type 2, so that would make a huge difference in the treatment. Type 1 is no biggie. Type 2 he might need a pacemaker. At least that's what I understood from reading online. Tomorrow he goes to the Ear Nose And Throat doctor to order his CPAP machine.
I forgot to hang up my swim suit and towel yesterday, so I'm waiting for them in the dryer before I can run off to the Y this morning. Food went well yesterday. No slip ups. So this morning my weight was down just a little bit more. Yesterday 205.4, today 204.8. Another 30 year low. Another 2.8 pounds will make 100 lost. But I feel like I'm counting my chickens! That could take another month, the way things are going.
Does anybody do Zumba? Our Y has started offering it four days a week, free, so I'm thinking about trying it. At least going to watch and see if I think I could do it. I've watched videos online and some look hard and some look easy. I'm very uncoordinated.
Well, the dryer has finished. Have a great day. I hope your snow stops soon, and be careful shoveling!
Sylvia0 -
Have a great day!!.:drinker: :drinker:
After about 6-8 in of snow,it`s gonna be 41.HEATWAVE!!!Still gotta walk in the snow, some people don`t shovel, only their driveways,so it will be an adventure.I`ll get my exercise in.
My friend tolerated the 1st round of the treatment.:drinker:

Sylvia: Thanks for the suggestion to look at You Tube. I have done that before and am now pretty sure I understand what you’re doing. Congratulations on your success.:flowerforyou:
Njtaliana: Congratulations on slipping below 300 lbs!:flowerforyou:
Yanniejannie: I’m so sorry your friend Gwen is having such a hard time.:flowerforyou:
Meg: I’m glad you’re back and sorry you needed a pity party. Not fun at all. You are so busy that I often am amazed at how much you do. I wonder if fatigue is your enemy. I struggled with it when I was teaching and was never able to find my balance because of the demands of the job and the horrid commute.:flowerforyou:
Beth WNY: I’m glad you found us again. You’re right to log everything, good, bad, and all. That is how you can see why things are going well or poorly.:flowerforyou:
Rori in CO: Glad to see you. It has been a while. You are a BUSY woman.:flowerforyou:
Carol in NC: Foodaholism is tougher than alcoholism in some ways, because abstaining from food completely is not an option. Forgive yourself, log every bite, and get back on track. Hugs.:flowerforyou:
Sue in TX: Welcome back. I’m glad you enjoyed your trip.:flowerforyou:
Michele: Do you take your cats to FL with you? Chocolate is not a problem for me other than the calories. I keep dark chocolate on hand to use as treats and do fine with it. Peanutbutter cups are another matter entirely. No control.:noway: I‘ll see if I can find some silken tofu the next time I’m baking a treat with oil in it.:flowerforyou:
Joyce: Men are often taught to suppress emotions, and “take it like a man,” whatever “it” happens to be. Your DH is probably a victim of that early training. Hugs to both of you.:flowerforyou:
Heather: What is a UTI? I understand being reluctant to spend a bunch of money on a phone with a contract, or any other long-term expense. I wasn’t worried about the phone contract because the out of pocket cost is reasonable, and I’ve been a customer of AT&T for decades so signing a contract agreement is not a risk. Getting a phone that matches your tablet is an excellent idea.:flowerforyou:
Cynthia: You are quite the romantic! Going out for the anniversary of your first kiss is an exceptionally wonderful idea.:flowerforyou:
Amanda: I’m so sorry your ITBS and gallbladder acted up at the same time. Hugs.:flowerforyou:
DeeDee: Your DGD is a hoot. I wonder what mine will be like at 13, and it is a mind boggling idea.:glasses:
Michele: Travel safely.:flowerforyou:
Sylvia: Good luck to your DH. I hope his situation is easily treatable. I have a cousin who has had a pacemaker since his twenties. The one he has now is not the original. It has been a generally good situation for him. If your DH ends up needing one, it could be a significant help for him feeling better.:flowerforyou:
I just told DH that I’m not really comfortable with spending a large amount of money on an RV. He isn’t happy with me right now. This came up in a call with our son last night. DS is afraid that an accident could cause us to lose everything we own if DH is driving with his vision limitations. I think it is a reasonable fear. DH really needs to take care of his vision problems because of potential liabilities if we have any sort of accident no matter what we are driving. This morning I said so. He isn’t talking right now and I can tell he’s not happy. I am not willing to take on the monthly payments he mentioned, either, don’t want the size RV he wants, and can list a dozen other issues. The liability worry is the easiest to explain and the most crucial to resolve.

February goals:
1. Log every bite and swallow.
2. Move more: cardio at least 3 days a week and strength training as soon as I am able.
3. Water: According to an article I saw on facebook, drinking water at certain times maximizes its effectiveness for the body. I’ll work toward following these guidelines:
* 2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs
* 1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion
* 1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure
* 1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack0 -
Well, today is my BD, I'm celebrating by going to body pump and playing
6 games of volleyball. My family will celebrate my day on Sunday when my dd can
come home. And hubby has to work late tonight.
Exermom- The Y started a "choose to lose" C2L weight loss program Jan 4th
Until the end of March, so they offered the body pump 30 min class. The majority
of the class were couch potatoes, the instructor is now adding on minutes until
we get to an hour.

Katla - a UTI is a urinary tract infection. Apparently in old people the toxins can cross the blood brain barrier, which gets thinner with age. In fact I think I'm getting one right now so will be drinking a lot of water. DH is away so wont be able to make it to the doctor til he gets back.
Just before he set out we had a huge bolt of lightening, a crash overhead, and very heavy hail the size of small marbles. A torrent swept down our road. He wasn't best pleased at the prospect of driving through more floods !:noway: It is all quiet now. I have to keep away from the fridge. I feel shiritaki noodles coming on!   My go to for a low calorie binge.

Hello to all: Nice day today, ice is melting. I am headed for the wellness center to get my exercise done. We are planning our trip to California trying to get dates etc. lined up and where we are going to stay. We are going out to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. It is not really close but within an hour's drive so we are thinking about going to church where we were married in Alamo, CA 45 years ago this August. Trying to see if we can work that into the itinerary. My DH would like to spend a day in San Francisco but he is in no shape to walk those hills. He would need to spend a lot of time at the wellness center between now and then if he wants to do that.
Michele - Traveling mercies.
Congratulations to whoever it was got below 300. That is awesome!

Sunny and actually warm. Picked up and drove a friend to pick up a rental car for trip to Fl. , then she insisted on buying me lunch. Went over to Gwen's and took her to get new scripts filled and the new dosage of coumadin in the med tray; this took 3 1/2 hrs. total
and I wonder where my days go???? She showed me more of her "bugs"---ice crystals on a frozen loaf of bread, little bits of dried milk in her fridge from the bottom of plastic milk carton........
Heather........No, I was so unimpressed with the dr..............no blood or urine labs ordered. I had thought they might admitt her to do a workup with some scans as brain cancer runs in her family.
Brenda........Happy birthday!!!
Got to run---tai chi and yoga shortly.
Hello and Best to all.

Happy Tuesday dear ladies. Well it was not a good weigh in for me this moring. I am up 1.9 pounds. I have to get back on track and not eat out so much.
Trying not to let myself get depressed about it. It's a new day and I am working on getting back on track. It is to be up in the 50s the next couple days and chance of snow on Thursday, of course that is my day off.
Well I did not go to the play date with DGD as was just tired so stayed home alday until I had to go to a meeting at work at 5:30pm. Which was a waste, but they tell us we have to be there. I am feeling better today.
Alison--Hugs!!
Jane--Prayers for you and your friend, Hugs also! Glad you were not hurt with your fall. I am so afraid of falling when it is icy. I walk like a duck and don't care how funny it looks.
Eileen--Congrates on the new grandbaby!:flowerforyou:
Nadia--Welcome, looking forward to getting to know you!!:flowerforyou:
Katiebug--I wear a pedometer and keep track of my steps. I was at a meeting at work last evening and the wellness gal was there explainning the new insurance and what they are doing to keep us well. She said that come April they are giving fitbits to those that sign up. I am hoping I can get one. I agree giving up food is not an option so I do believe harder to get undercontrol. I know I have not had a drink since 4/5/206 and long as I stay away I have no problems.
Gloria--don't be so hard on yourself. You have so much going on and alot to deal with. Hugs and prayers to all of you! My DMIL lived with us the last couple months as she could get her radiation here and between us and DS and his wife we got her to them. Then we went to visit DSIL and while there DMIL laid down on the bed and her back broke. So we ended up staying with her there for three weeks before she passed. There were 4 of her children and spouses there so we took turns setting with her. Doing it alone you have so much to handle.
Carol--Hugs and prayers. So glad your test results were good. I know what you mean about the buffet. Then there is the little voice saying go for it just for today. then next thing I know it is a week later and I have a gain.
Sylvia--I have tried the face exercises and do think they help. I try and do them when I am walking. Hope DH gets the answers so you both know what the next step is. After all that has gone on with my dad these last several months I am amazed at what the heart can do and the doctors to the heart.
Maryann--Happy dance for getting under 300!!! I hope you do something for yourself to celebrate!!!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
yanniejannie--Sounds like Gwen is sure lucky to have you looking out for her. Sure hope it gets better soon!:flowerforyou:
Beth--I know logging everything when eating out of control is scary and I have been making myself do it and I do think it makes me think. Maybe not stop, but think. I am hoping today to be back on track and so far so good! Important not to give up!!!
Joyce--I remember when I first started my mom gave me a book for Kotex and the starter package. I agree that you have the right for support and if your family can give it, I say go for it. And I truly believe prayer can make a difference.
Brenda--Happy Birthday!!:flowerforyou: :drinker:
Cynthia--sounds like you and DH have the romance going. I tell my DH every year that Christmas eve is the night of our first kiss. Hope you both have a very special date night.
Well it is that time of day I need to think about getting some work done before time to go home. Hugs and prayers to all and remember we are in this together.:drinker:

February goals:

2. Move more: cardio at least 3 days a week and strength training as soon as I am able.
3. Water: According to an article I saw on facebook, drinking water at certain times maximizes its effectiveness for the body. I’ll work toward following these guidelines:

* 1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion
* 1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure
* 1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack
I just copied and pasted these goals from someone else's post. I don't even know who... but I wanted to post it myself, so I could easily find it. I think these are great goals, and ones I need to follow myself.
I just heard about the water thing today. I tend to avoid it at night, because I don't want to have to get up to potty. But I tend to do that anyway, so I might was well just go ahead and drink. I tend to be kind of thirsty in the evenings, so I figure if I'm feeling thirsty I need to drink. So holding back is not a good idea.
Anyway, this is my first post in this tread. I am 50, from Iowa, and need to lose about 50 pounds. But I don't want to focus on that. I just want to focus on changing my habits and creating some new habits.0 -
Maryann - congrats on breaking 300. I too broke that mark this past weekend. I'm doing the happy dance for both of us.
Jane - ouch, I hope you didn't hurt yourself when you fell
Brenda - Happy Birthday!! :flowerforyou:
Linda - welcome to a great thread. it's a very supportive group of ladies. Come back often and post as often as you want.
cychogal - welcome too!! Those are great goals.
Allison - I can't believe how much shoveling you've done. Spring is only a month away (that's my mantra these days  )
yanniejannie - you are such a great friend. I hope that something is done for Gwen. It must be so difficult to watch someone you care about go through all of that. Take a bit of time for yourself
We got a dumping of snow over night. Oh spring...where are you? I'm only working 2 days this week...woohooo. I'm taking Thurs & Fri off to use up my last 2 vacation days and watch the gold medal hockey game on Thursday.
Had a great dinner with DD, DS & his gf. It amazes me how much I've learned since being on MFP. I had to guess how much chicken but I'd say it was close to 4 ounces and then just piled on the veggies. The food was grilled right in front of us. I had lots of food, but it was mostly veggies. I am more able now to have an idea of what a serving size is and no sauces. It was very yummy. I love the times we have together, I'm still getting to know DS's gf. He seems really happy but I noticed that he too has put on a bit of weight. He's aware of it and has started working out. He's always been so tall and skinny.
off to watch some Olympics and let my muscles rest some after the strength training tonight!
Sandy in ON0 -
LindaFay, yes you posted right. As far as cardio, just move, the more you move and the quicker you move the better. Bike riding, walking, just moving your arms up and down while you are sitting. I have been known to put my 80's cardio music while I am sitting in traffic and pumping my arms and legs up and down. Of course this is while I am in the passenger seat. But you could do arms only in the drivers side.
Charlie had his appointment with the neurologist today. It is confirmed that he has Parkinsons now. It is mild and of course the doctor hopes it will stay that way. he said that southern Indiana is the mecca for Parkinsons! WOW.He has quite a few symptoms that I hadn't even thought of some that Charlie says don't apply at all. He says that weight loss is because I refuse to go to places where he could eat his fatty or red meats. Years ago he went on a diet and got below 200 pounds and swore he would never go above again. Well we all know how that goes don't we!!!   So he crept above and was 202 or 203. Well that was OK because it was close to 200. Then a couple of pounds more until it was 210. He stayed there a long time but is now 198. So he is tto have a CT scan of his brain. He would have had an MRI done but the stents in his heart are to new. He will start on Senemet.
Really enjoyed the weather today. Walked outside this morning and realized I didn't need my winter coat!!!!
Joyce, Indiana0 -
Bump - if I can almost 50, feel like I belong here! Oh, and I have a saying "The SOUL never ages, it's just this old outer shell....."0
-
It has warmed up here in Canada so I was out walking the dog and cross country skied on the weekend. Just want to eat and eat. I think it is the hormones or something like menopause causing this. I am taking the carbocia Garcinia but still have a hankiering to eat and eat late into the evening.0
-
There was alot of activitie on this chat today. I have just come on this site after being on weight watchers. I lost weight I wasn't expecting to but have put it all back on and than a few more pounds. I can not keep going on like this. My friends husband just had a heart attack this week and had a stint put in. Seems the thing that happens after 50. This is the second person I know. Seems if the don't die they have a stroke or need a stint. Sorry that is a downer but just how this year has started out.0
-
I know better, but I find myself looking for that easy answer. That quick fix. What's that latest pill? Garcina, something or other? I know someone who takes it. She says it has helped. I even researched it, but then woke up from la la land, and stopped. No no no. There is no pill or potion. It is all within my abilities to do this. I don't need any more advice, or help, other than support from friends. I'm not giving up carbs, or doing any other diet.
I'm watching my portions, counting my calories, and hopefully this leads to healthier choices. I do need to drink more water, which is why I researched the benefits of drinking water at certain times of the day. A friend had told me about it. I realize it probably doesn't do the things they say, but if it gets me, or anyone, to drink more water, then it's a good thing. It certainly can't hurt.
I work with kids, and a little boy was touching my belly yesterday. I thought he was just trying to get my attention. But he kept touching and poking, and of course he had to ask if I had a baby in there. I said no, so he simply said 'Oh, it's just big'. Yup. I guess that sums it up.
His comments were honest and innocent. He really didn't embarrass me all that much. People much thinner than me have been asked that question too. And sometimes by adults who ought to know better.
It's not really a cosmetic thing for me anymore. I just feel like the fat is taking over. I can't remember the word for it, but I've see the pictures where it's surrounding vital organs. This is what I feel like is happening to me.
Just felt like sharing....
