Add me please. We do planks in my Jazzercise class sometimes and I shake the whole time, it's really hard for me to do. I would love to get a stronger core.0

So, to better the results you can try this:
30 Second plank, then 30 second active plank (looks like your doing something naughty to the floor - move your hips up to form a tower then down low to form what I can only best describe as a "bowl" I guess.
Then 30 second side plank, and do 30 second active side plank - both sides.
Then 30 second reverse plank and you're going to have to look this one up because I dont know how to describe it - the 30 seconds worth of reverse active planks. Voila! your core is going to kill .Remember to stretch - do it every day and when you feel comfortable - increase the intensity - you can throw some scissor kicks and russion twists in there too.

Ha!!
I was assigned planking as part of PT when I threw my back out, and when I first tried it, I held it for all of 2 seconds.My PT told me the avg person can hold it for 2..... minutes. -_-
