Why the need for such negativity? Not sure why a simple question would bring about so many put downs. We are all on here with the same goal in mind. Why are we arguing with each other? This is ridiculous. If you are on here to help people great, but to bring people down is awful. Not sure why people can't give their comments without being so condescending.0

One of my biggest problems with Dr. Oz is his incessant need to endorse a new miracle weight loss drug.....be the one to find it and the first to promote it. I mean, I get it....it's showbiz....and I think that's what people forget. You're coming up with a new show several times a week and you have to keep interest, you have to create buzz.....
What I completely disagree with regarding Dr. Oz is when he spouts that something is backed by research when the research is mainly animal based (rat trials) and the VERY few human trials are pretty poor constructed. Unfortunately....unless you understand and have been taught how to see flaws in study design and implementation anything can look pretty damn efficacious.
Anyways.....to simply answer your question now.....garcinia cambogia MAY have a moderate affect on appetite control.....keep in mind that the supplement industry is completely unregulated with no real checks and balances. But hey....if you believe something is going to help and it makes you feel better taking it, then chances are (along with behaviour changes) that it's going to have a moderate benefit....especially in keeping up morale and motivation. Never underestimate the power in that.
Personally.....in terms of weight loss aids....I'd spout that your best bet is something that gives you a good kick in the *kitten*....upping energy. Whether that's a strong cup of coffee in the morning or herbal energy boosters etc (as long as their safe) doesn't really matter....just something that's going to rev you up at the gym and get you moving and intensify your work outs....for some that's even a really great playlist. Couple that with enough protein you'll be high energy, burning calories and suppressing your appetite in several tried and true ways. And hey, if adding that GB pill makes you feel like you're doing a little extra and you feel it's suppressing your appetite or boosting your energy as well then go for it......again, if it makes you feel good and keeps you motivated and is NOT causing you harm or negatively impacting your results then fantastic, it works for you.
Sorry to be so long winded....just thought I'd give a slightly different view than some of the comments I saw. Psych, pharm and nutrition are kind of my thing and I couldn't restrain myself. Good luck.0 -
Is that like using unicorn and rainbow dust to help with weight loss??
OP~ Just have a calorie deficit and exercise....you don't need any magic pills or fairy dust to lose weight.0 -

Just wondering if anyone has tried this product. If so, what type of results have you had?
Ever think instead of anecdotes, you might I don't know research the literature to see if it's ever been shown to be effective in humans for weight loss?
Crazy talk.
Instead, ask a general population and if even one of them has a story that indicates it might work (which is all but certain that they will even though it's just as certain that it actually doesn't) and use that as the basis to buy it and try it.
Oh, humans. Fascinating creatures, we are.0 -

Did you ever think that maybe she has looked online at the info and wanted comments from real people who have used the product? Did you ever think that maybe no comment could be better than your snarky reply that was of no help whatsoever??
It's kind of hard to find the peer reviewed studies if you don't know where to look or the key words to search under. A little education might be helpful here.0 -
There is no such things as a shiny magic pill, cream, wrap that will get rid of the fat for you....you are wasting your time and money on these things. Calorie deficit and exercise....unless you want to have it sucked out of your body or cut off.0

Actually, before I used either I did my research and homework on both and then I tested what I found.... But, I guess you all think I'm some kind of robot (Absolutely HILARIOUS, jokes on YOU! ).... I made reference to two very different supplements. Not because I needed it because I'm not obese... NEVER HAVE BEEN NEVER WILL BE! I tried both simply because I looked at all of the forums and found good and negative results on both, so I conducted my own research on both products and compared them to each other... Notice I said, "I lost more with one than the other!" Please read! If I was some kind of robot, I wouldn't have made mention to a totally different supplement! What would that do for the "ratings" for this particular supplement. One was said, "Not to work" and the other was said, "to work." So, I tried both for 60 days to see what kinds of results I would get on both, making sure to look at the ingredients on both because in my research the types of ingredients were heavily mentioned." For the first 10 days on both I didn't workout and I didn't change my diet. On Pure Green Coffee bean, I still lost weight rapidly (approximately .75-1 lbs/wk) and noticed after the first 10 days I had more energy and couldn't eat as much. On the 11th day I started a very simply workout plan (DC3) and began to eat a little healthier. After, doing this the last 40 days my results became increasingly better, I started to see my weight and inches shed more rapidly (approximately 1.5-2 lbs/wk) losing a total of 14 lbs and 6 inches. Then, I waited 30 days to flushed my system to ensure the Pure Green Coffee Bean Extract was no longer in my system and started the Garcinia Cambogia. On the Garcinia Cambogia, "I lost weight (approximately .25-.50 lb/wk) the first 10 days, however I didn't lose as much, but I still couldn't eat as much." On the 11th day, I did the same thing as I did with the Pure Coffee Bean Extract however, I still didn't lose as much it brought me up to approximately 1-1.5 lbs/wk and lost a total of 10lbs and only 2 inches. I had the same side effects on both frequent need to void and drink. Should I have gone longer on both MAYBE, however I found out what I needed to know, the answer to my own question, "Does one work better than the other?" And, the answer was "Yes, Pure Green Coffee Bean Extract works better than Garcinia Cambogia."
Also, I made reference to Dr. Oz because he highly recommended both. I wouldn't highly recommend Garcinia Cambogia just depends on what you are looking to do." I got results with both however, what works for one person may or may not work for the next person because of our body chemistry. I did my own research and tried both and found better results in Pure Coffee Bean Extract. I cannot tell you why it (Pure Green Coffee Bean Extract) worked better other than the Chlororgenic Acid. In which was said by Dr. Vinson that it, "inhibits the release of glucose into the blood stream which slows down the absorption of glucose in the bloodstream, the chlorogenic acid ultimately results in a reduction in the absorption of fat."
The question at hand was, "Just wondering if anyone has tried this product. If so, what type of results have you had? " I simply answered the question, and for those of you that didn't like my answer then it simply seems like a, "SUCKS TO BE YOU KIND OF MOMENT!"
Wait.
So for the +/-2 pounds I see on the scale in any given 24 hour period...if I had been trying some new supplement during that time...I could conclude it was the supplement that caused it? And not my current assumption that it's sodium, carbs, timing, moon phases, humidity level, or some other impossible-to-determine factor that causes this kind of daily volatility???
I need to start using and selling these products using my own testimonials for their effectiveness.
Lose 28 pounds in 2 weeks without changing your exercise or diet by taking Product X!!!*
(* based on extrapolation of 2 pound loss in 24 hours while using Product X)0 -
You cannot determine whether one is better than the other if you do not start at the same starting point with both. Weighing less/being smaller when starting one over the other automatically makes the results inconclusive. We lose at a slower rate the closer we are to the ideal weight.
Green Coffee Bean=unroasted coffee. Of course you're going to have "more energy", it's naturally high in caffeine and comes from the coca plant.
Garcinia Cambogia=
"However, clinical trials do not support claims that Garcinia cambogia is an effective weight-loss aid.[8] A meta-analysis found a possible small, short-term weight loss effect (under 1 kilogram).[9] However, side effects—namely hepatotoxicity—led to one preparation being withdrawn from the market.[10]
A 1998 randomized controlled trial looked at the effects of hydroxycitric acid, the purported active component in Garcinia gummi-gutta, as a potential antiobesity agent in 135 people. The conclusion from this trial was that "Garcinia cambogia failed to produce significant weight loss and fat mass loss beyond that observed with placebo".[11]"
I wouldn't mess with it. It basically sounds like the same as Hydroxycut but "natural", and neither have been proven in any capacity to in themselves cause significant weightloss. Why put foreign substances in your body unless you absolutely have to?
The "supporter" on this thread's "success" could be directly attributed to healthy diet and exercise.
The way pills like this work is that they give people a set routine to follow. A plan, a diet, a mindset. When you invest $40 in a bottle of pills, you're more likely to strive for the loss, to get good on your money.
You know what has been proven to have moderate weightloss effects? CAFFEINE. Which, by the by, almost all the products I've seen from Dr. Oz have in it in some form.0 -
I have tried this product and Pure Green Coffee Bean extract for 60 days (both recommended by Dr. Oz.). I had really good results, I lost 14 pounds one Green Coffee Bean Extract and 10 lbs on Garcinia Cambogia. I did both because I wanted to see if one would work better than the other. On top of taking the supplements although you do not have to change your lifestyle, I chose to do so for better results.
Perhaps it was NOT the supplements that worked, but the fact that you chose to change your lifestyle (eating habits) for better results.
I've tried the Green Coffee Bea Extract and zip in the result area.
Hard work, eating a balanced and healthy diet, portion control, weighing your food, excerise....these are the keys to unlock any weight loss.0 -
