$65 plus tip, and it's worth every penny!0

Zero Dollars.
I have cut my own hair for the past 3 years. Even pixie style. And I always get tons of compliments.0 -
I used to spend $120 for color and cut. I went to a new girl and did $65.
Now, I dye and cut my own hair, and i get compliments all the time0 -
$9.00 + tip0

$16.00 including the tip. Haircut, eyebrows trimmed, neck trimmed and ear hair. It takes me no longer than 10mins to be seated, get my haircut, pay and walk out the door.0

$50 plus tip. Worth every single penny and one of the only splurges in my regular life.
I have had inexpensive haircuts. I've had crazy expensive haircuts. I've had bad haircuts. I've gone through periods where I cut my own hair.
And then I found Becky, who is a master stylist, and in this case, that title isn't just a bunch of hooey. I have super fine hair (think hair like a five year old) and she is the only person on this planet who can cut it and make it look like a million bucks.
If I ever become filthy rich, after doing a bunch of good things for family and friends and humanity, I'm taking her off the market and she can be my personal stylist!0 -
Wow I must be the only person here who doesn't think you should tip a hair dresser.
Unless they are the salon owner, you should ALWAYS tip your hairdresser. Unless they do a horrible job, and at which point you should say something. But if you like your cut? TIP!!
Why? They already make more than I think should be paid for what they do.
you realise what hairdressers make varies quite considerably. the ones working supercuts etc are probably not earning much over minimum wages (the company probably takes if not the whole fee most of it and pay an hourly - tips are what make it livable
As for the bigger earners a lot of that is down to talent and marketing - I know stylists who do a lot of work with the fashion industry and they make a ton (at their salons they probably charge 150-200 a cut and also collect chair rental fees from the other stylists - and can because they built a name and a reputation
As I mentioned I don't tip my stylist specifically ($42 is the kids price he charges me as a friend - but i always round up to $50 and whoever washes my hair gets the $8 - a lot of the time it's a student working for free because that is how the industry is)0 -
$10 for bangs and trim and only twice a year.0

Same here. I've done mine on/off for over a decade and honestly...at one point decided to go to a better salon since I got a more professional job...after the crappy cut they gave me, I went back to work and no one said anything and I fixed it at home that weekend and on Monday morning everyone was like, "OMG I love your new cut" hehe0 -
I have never seen this before. But when I looked it up I saw a video of someone who took before/after photos under a microscope and it really appears to work!
Thanks for the tip!0 -
$0. I cut my own hair. Glad to see I'm not the only one! I have help though. I have a CreaClip. If I remember correctly, it cost me $40. It paid for itself within one trim (my old hair dresser charged $60 for a full cut, $40 for a trim). I don't do anything complicated with my hair, so it's perfect. Love that thing!
Edit: Oh, and I don't dye my hair and do all my eyebrow stuff at home. So I haven't been to a salon in over 2 years. I haven't ever thought about how much money I've saved, but I should do the math sometime!0 -
$60 for shampoo and cut, and I usually tip $20 because my hair dresser is awesome. I will never color my hair, so I have no idea about any of that. I'm hoping I have my grandma's genes. She is 82 and doesn't have a single gray hair.0

$40
$40 for a man, I hope you get a reach around when they're done.
Now THAT would be ideal.0 -
$45, plus tip for the stylist and a tip for the assistant. I go every 8-12 weeks. I dye my own hair unless someone else is paying for it (gift certificate for my birthday, etc.).0
-
I paid $60 for a pair of clippers back in 1996 and they still work, so basically nothing!0
-
Haircuts are like tattoos. You get what you pay for.
I used to take my son to Great Clips for a $10 haircut and every time I left, I said I would never take him back to the beauty school drop outs. I take him to a proper barbershop now, pay a bit more and it's always perfect.
Same goes for myself. Once I stopped cheaping out, realized how great my hair could be.0 -

Nothing, for me, obviously, but....about every 4 weeks a hairdresser comes to the house and does my wife and youngest daughter. She's usually there from about 4pm until 11pm. What the heck takes so long? And why are they showing each other pics for the next time? Discussing it so long?
I'm afraid to ask what it's costing.0 -
I have no idea how much I pay for a cut by itself, but I just paid $145 for full highlight, cut and style.0
-
12 bucks! boom!0
