If prison guards were to serve prisoners nothing but 20 potatoes a day they'd be prosecuted for human rights abuses. And if zookeepers were to serve chimpanzees any of these fad diets that are circulating the internet, they'd be prosecuted for animal neglect and cruelty.

But when humans choose to do this kind of thing to themselves, apparently it's all hunky-dory.

    Because clearly potatoes are abusive.

Have you ever taken a hit by a potato gun? Clearly, not.

I know it funny and all but fs guys, I just went down to maintainance this week and all these threads are making me want all the potatoes tonight and I have no room for them :(

Might ditch the bread at lunch but I'm not giving up my snickers for tatties.

Ugh! I would have to starve unless I could have nothing but sweet potatoes.

I do not like white potatoes, red potatoes, yukon golds or nothing of the like. Ewwww.

    Potatoes > bananas...

...and butter on potatoes > butter on bananas.

Wait - I get cheese, too, right?

And bacon? Or at least bacon bits?

    Potatoes > bananas...

...and butter on potatoes > butter on bananas.

I can confirm that this is true.

    Later, taters.

You could boil them, mash them, OR stick them in a stew!

Why is this in chit-chat? Its a legitimate diet, with a website and everything.

I've seen it called a "hack" not a diet. It's a short-term method for losing fat and can be done for a few days every week. The rest of the days are normal eating, but you can't go crazy if you actually want to lose weight. I'm trying it using organic Yukon Gold potatoes that I steamed and ate plain and they're delicious. There's no way at my size I could eat 21 potatoes a day; the sources I've read suggested about 2 pounds a day for a small person, and up to 5 for a larger one. I'm the kind of person who does better eating the same thing repeatedly. Variety causes me to overeat. Potatoes are exceptionally satisfying compared to other foods and have other properties that help with fat loss (I am not saying that they are a magic food.).

I read a summary on this blog and borrowed the Kindle book it references.
