I support 3 Vice Presidents of a multi billion dollar company...I'm a mom, mentor, volunteer, and a slew of stress....0

I work from home about 70% of the time ,(the the past month and next 2 months its 95%) I Handle Payroll and accounting for three companies, and HR for one of them , along with training, my hours are somewhat flexibile- as most of the training is done interactive video chat ( yes I LOVe tech stuff) I have actually done this "similar" job for 10 years now ... whew...
But when anyones asks , its always simplest to say my title Which is HR Director, for a Directv company
I spend a lot of time in front of the computer and on the phones
I try to grab some time in between phone calls doing " office exercises"0 -
9-1-1 dispatcher - and not conducive to a healthy lifestyle...lots of stress and not a lot of moving around. I try to take breaks when I can and get up and walk around. That helps.0

Thankfully I work in a VERY small office where everyone keeps to themselves (save for the guy across the hall who feels in necessary to tell me every time one of his clients blinks). I enjoy what I do so much but it keeps me stressed a good amount of the time.
I understand! Anything related to social work, legal system, etc, seems to be quite stressful much of the time.
But I am glad that you have a nice smaller office :-)0 -

I am an archaeologist, so I am pretty active when doing field work, but pretty unactive when doing office/lab work (what I am doing at the moment)0

I'm a Benefits Analyst and it's VERY sedentary unless someone doesn't enroll in their benefits on time and I have to go beat their *kitten* HA!
I actually schedule my breaks, put reminders on my calendar and everything. I'll walk around, get water, go to the ladies room, clean up my desk real quick, all for about 10 minutes. I try to do that 3 or 4 times a day depending on how busy my day is but it's hard to get up with a desk job. There's always something keeping me tied to my desk. You just have to MAKE time.0 -
For the past 25 years (anniversary in July) I have helped my husband operate our farm and ranch. Before that, I grew up on a small "hobby farm". Any other ranch wives, please feel free to friend me!0

I , like so many, also have a mostly sedentary job...
I am a Department of the Air Force civilian...specifically an AETC Training Manager. I manage the entire training process for a given set of career fields. I much prefer my previous position where I was the Deputy Director for F-22 Technical Training. All of this is my way of continuing to serve after many many years in uniform of two different branches.0 -
I feel like I should add that I am a JUVENILE probation officer. I specialize in juveniles with drug abuse issues. Imagine having 20 teenagers. Mother of God.0

I'm a Staff Accountant by day and Zumba Instructor by night! ;-) Definitely helps keep me in shape since I sit all day.0

I have a daughter who is a medic (4N0) at Hurlburt Field.0 -
Rodeo Clown by day, super hero by night.
What's your super power?0 -
I'm in sales. I spend most of the day at my desk but when I have a conference call or working on a deal I pace around my office or stand up. My job is also terribly boring sometimes and not stressful. I wish it was harder actually to prevent the boredom...
I also get up once an hour to walk to the other end of the office for water, coffee, tea, or walk the stairs in the building.0 -
I work for a manufacturer of high-quality sexual health devices....so I sell sex toys for a living. (I manage their small webstore and handle customer questions.) It's not as salacious as it sounds, and it's fairly sedentary so that is not ideal. But the hours are flexible, so I can usually get out for a workout at lunchtime.
After three years here, I'm also impossible to shock, really.0 -

If you've done it longer than a year, it must be a calling for you! God bless! :flowerforyou:0 -

Server in a hotel. Living the dream.
Lots of running around. I started working breakfast and wedding parties only! I found myself snacking too much when I worked bar shifts. I have so much more control and movement over the other end.0 -
I model mortgage securities for a GSE. Very sedentary but my office has a good gym.0

Payroll/Billing Support for a Major Nuclear Services Contractor - I basically have a sedentary desk job doing data entry (90% of my job) - the other 10% of it is explaining the payroll system and how to's to 500+ field guys when they need help - imagine explaining a VERY basic payroll self-service system to a bunch of guys who work on, in and around Nuclear Reactor's for a living - it's truly scary how many of them can do that BUT not operate a basic windows based payroll system...go fig.
My hubby though works for a major pet retailer and therefore my workout schedule is based 100% on his work schedule...SUCKS but when your Mommy who works 40+ hours a week w/a hubby in retail you do what you gotta do!0 -
