I'm 29...about to be 30 in August. I can't say I am a yo-yo dieter cause to be honest I put the weight on and never really truely tried to get it off. It is now time for it to go away and hopefully I don't become a yo-yo dieter! I have over 100lbs to lose but I am completely optomistic and know I will get there oneday and look back like "wow that didn't take as long as I thought it would...should've started sooner!" Good luck to you and we can totally be friends!

Hey! I'm 29 and had a similar goal. I was overweight my whole life and I wanted to say that I was in the best shape of my life at SOME point in my 20s! It took me 9 months, but I lost 30lbs and met my goal at 28. I've been maintaining since March 2013 and will be celebrating my 30th birthday this summer in the best shape of my life! Feel free to add! I'm here every day.

I'm 29 and will be turning 30 in July. Feel free to add me! I currently weigh 215 and am looking to reach my goal weight of 140.
  • hi! I'm 27 and I can definitely, DEFINITELY see a difference in how my body processes food (and holds on to it in my thighs, hips, butt, arms, stomach...) I ended up going through some old clothing I haven't tried on in over a year, and it was NOT GOOD.

Normally I would say I'm not out to lose weight, I'm out to gain strength and fitness... but honestly, I have some cute stuff that simply does not fit right now that I'm not entirely willing to give up. I know I need to make some changes, so hence starting again with MFP.
  • I'm turning the big 30 this july! :) I can't believe that I am not in my 20's anymore few months from now but loving it. So funny cos every time my hubby and I eat out and i usually love to order a ladies drink like bahama mama that I currently had in apple bee's and the waiter/waitress always asked for my ID, I look younger than my age, don't know if it's a good thing or not.hahaa I have been to this site on and off but now i am back and have been logging in continuously for 12 days. my weight before I came here in USA was about 100-105lbs and lately I am now 111lbs but when i measure my neck, waist and hips, is the same measurement since last year.haha little weird! I am exercising on and off but for the past 12 days I have been exercising religiously. :) also I joined the site because my hubby needs to lose weight so we are doing this together. :) good luck to all of you! :)

I just turned 28, and for some reason this was the birthday that hit me I'm staring down the barrel at 30. I was happy to see a late 20's post since its usually 30s or 20s skewing toward college age. I've had alot of false starts, but I'm ready to lock it down and would be happy for any new friends to keep me motivated.
  • I'm in the same situation... Hitting the big 3-0 at the end of the year. Every time I got on the scales they just went up and up by another pound. So I have decided to do something about it. It's been really hard as I love food but I am starting to realise that you can't just eat whatever you want all of the time...especially as what I want is a big burger and fries! I've found it difficult living with my boyfriend who just seems to eat whatever he wants and doesn't gain an pound plus when I dish up dinner both our portions tend to be the same size!

Hopefully I can keep up my motivation. I'm on holiday from work at the moment so it's easy to exercise whenever I want and plan what to cook. I'll just have to be super organised when I get back to the real world.

Good luck reaching your goals guys
  • I am right there with you ladies! I turn 30 in six months!! I just stared a desk job from restaurant management-- so I need as much support as I can get!

Please feel free to add me!!

I'm in the same mindset as a lot of you are. I'll be 30 at the end of the year and want to be in the best shape of my life when I hit 3-0. My two goals by December are to lose 37 more pounds to FINALLY be in "one"derland (lost 70 so far!) and to run a half marathon this Fall.

Anyone can add me. I log daily (mostly) and have an open diary :)

I'm 27, turning 28 in August. I was pretty thin all my teenage years and early 20's without having to put much effort into it. Got married at 25 and have put on a few unwanted pounds. I'm about 15 lbs away from my goal weight and always looking for friends to keep my motivated and on track. Feel free to add :)

I'm turning 28 in a couple months and have been on and off MFP but now I'm kicking my butt into gear! I sit at my desk all day and zip around the office on my chair (that's right I don't even get up to go to the copier lol) I don't have much to lose weight wise but the inches that are piling on are not my friend at the moment :(

Anybody can feel free to add me :) It motivates me to actually see people logging on MFP

I'll be 27 this year. I run half marathons, live in a big city, love to go out to eat. I like to eat "healthy" because I feel better eating non-processed foods, but also like my ice cream and booze. Big believer that it is all about balance and creating a sustainable lifestyle - which is also why I don't eat 1200 calories a day or classify myself as on a diet. Looking to lose a few more lbs and concentrate on strength training for awhile once my next race is over!
  • I just turned 27 and I've lost almost 28lbs so far. But these last few months have been hard I've had 5 different birthdays and I love sweets so it's been hard to stay on track. I joined mfp to help me stay focused.. I love to be each others motivator.

I'm 29 with 3 children, and that is it for me :) I feel a lot of pressure to take better care of my own health and body now. It's tough to keep up with 3 VERY active little boys! I want to be a better example for them of a healthy lifestyle, not a good diet. We are focusing on eating healthy, whole foods, and getting daily exercise. It's not hard for them because of sports, school recess, etc, and they are awesome little motivators. We are working hard to motivate Dad, too :) Time to start getting serious in these last years of our youth! LOL

Hi - I'll be 29 in July and lived in NYC for six years before I moved to Chicago last year! NYC makes it tough to cook for yourself because 1) kitchens are tiny and 2) there are so many amazing restaurants. I feel your pain.

Fitness wise, I'm basically trying to lose a few lbs and tone up for my wedding in September. I'm a runner, and have recently starting putzing around with strength training. I did just sign up for a month-long boot camp class, so that should be interesting. Feel free to add me!

    Hi!

I just turned 28 in December! I was pretty thin til about 25 when I started progressively gaining weight eating exactly the same way I have all my adult life. Now, I'm 174 lbs which is 10lbs less than I was in January so I guess its an achievement. Currently I am doing low carb plus cardio everyday I can... Its not easy, especially when I see the pounds come off so slow... Any who, I just restarted MFP again hoping it will keep me motivated... Feel free to add me!!
