Long Hair... Don't care

The more weight I lose, the more I think about cutting my hair short. I've always kept it long because it hid flab and camel humps and everything else. Thinking since I'm getting lighter, so should this hair. Anyone else went shorter after your weight loss? Were you happy with the change?

Opposite for me. With my weight loss I have let my hair grow out. I feel sexier and more feminine with it with. Love it0

Can't donate. It's not "virgin" hair.0

Personally I relate hair length to age. Just my opinion but very few older folk pull off long hair0

Personally, I don't think long hair hides nearly as much as some women believe it does.
I've had short and long hair both at my heaviest weights (270-307) and I truly think that for me I looked a bit thinner with short hair than I did with long. I typically get a lot more attention & compliments etc, when my hair's very short. Right now I am trying to grow it out which is a grueling process.
I think hair is a fun thing to play around with...long, short, or anything in between...color, style, etc. It is *relatively* easy to change if you don't like it. Especially if you have been thinking of a change for quite awhile...may as well go for it!0 -
I just cut off all my hair and dyed it I regret the colour, lol but don't mind the length. Luckily my hair grows really fast.
It's only been about 3 weeks and I'm already planning to get my original colour back0 -
Last time I tried to lose weight I chopped off all of my hair. I went really short. It was nice, but I ended up growing my hair back again. This time I am just doing a lot of braids.
I really like having hair and although it's just now shoulder length, I look forward to feeling it brush my butt again.
Long straight and blunt is where it's at.0 -

lol whaa ok0 -
Do what works for you. And a short haircut will grow back.
When it gets warm, I sweat enough in the gym to have to wash my hair each time I exercise, and I train 6 days a week; sometimes twice a day. I need short hair so it will dry fast. But I left it grow out come fall.0 -
Geeze. Now you have me thinking about cutting mine...would be so much easier to swim.0

Don't let my picture fool you..my hair is shorter now. I love it! I won't go back to to

You can still donate it if it's been dyed as long as it hasn't been bleached.

I chopped mine off recently. It makes me feel fit and sassy.0

I regretted the one time I cut my hair short. And just about any short style I tried made my cheeks look fatter than they were. Just did not suit me at all. So I keep my hair layered and at least shoulder length, but usually longer. Right now its mid-back.
I think long/short being related to age as someone else suggested is getting to be a bit outdated view. You should do what flatters your features. A good stylist would be able to help you decide.0 -
No choice.0

My hair is currently the longest it's been in about 16 years and I'm not cutting it off again. Just a trim here and there.0

Personally I love long hair on me, I've had it every way under the sun, but I looove bobs! They seem to flatter every face. And now that it's getting hot (at least here), the idea of chopping my hair off is always appealing.0

no offense but that's rubbish.
if you like long hair- keep your long hair as long as it's in good order.
If you are loosing all your hair- you might re-evaluate it.
But it's a matter of tastes and what works for you- it has NOTHING to do with your age (I have no hair- I frequently shave parts of my head- and I just turned 30)
OP cut it if you want.
I would suggest asking people you see- and or people you know where they get their hair cut- go to someone who CUTS consistent short hair cuts.
I get compliments all the time on mine- I drive 45 miles ONE WAY to go to her because she is REALLY good at cutting short hair. (I walked out and stopped at WaWa down the street- about 0.5 miles away right after a hair cut and immediately got a compliment- I texted her to let her know LOL)
not everyone can do it- so go to someone who CAN.
Also- I change mine every 6-12 months... I take pictures I love of several cuts/styles and go and say I want something like this- and we talk about why it does and doesn't work- and I say do what works- and she gives me a version of the cut- that works for my face and features- Last cut I got a year ago that was drastic was from OTEP- Apex Predator. LOVE that hair.
It's a regular pixie and in that weird "i'm growing" stage- but that's how it works. LOL0 -
I love, love, love my hair short.0

No choice.
Oh I really wish there was a "LIKE" button on here! Love it TheRoadDog!0 -
I think to each their own.
If you've never had short hair, I'd suggest not cutting super drastic to a pixie, but maybe do a shoulder length cut first.
I've had long and short hair. I love my short hair, but then tire of it and grow it out, and then tire of that and cut it again. It's a vicious cycle.
You do you and if you want to cut it, do it! :flowerforyou:0 -
I only cut my hair short because my new baby kept pulling on it every chance she got. I love my long hair, and I think it goes back to my Hawaiian days. You can't have beach hair without some length.0

I have a habit of growing mine out and then cutting it off. Right now it's a couple inches past my shoulders, and I want to see if I can get it longer. However, I have a LOT of issues with breakage, that makes me want to cut it short! However, when I have it above my shoulders, I remember why I don't like it short! One end will curl under and the other side flips out, no matter what I do with it!0

the answer to that is to obviously go shorter0 -
Women seem to cut their hair short for themselves (just to do something different, make a statement about something, or because they are sick of managing it) and not really to appeal to the opposite sex.0
