Hmmm....running in the rain, turned a corner and a woman came out of an office and said "Dammit! If your running it means I'll need to run!" "The rain was my excuse!" I yelled back "Woo Hoo!" Motivate others with action......
I know what you mean, My boyfriend, his mom, and I, have lost a total of 48 lbs total, in 4 weeks, this feeling of motivating others is very inspiring!6 -
Oooooooh, I love NSV threads! Congrats to all! :drinker:
Being in maintenance, NSVs are the only Vs I get. This one will sound strange, but it was a big, big deal for me: I skipped my workout this morning.
:noway:
Really. I tend to extremes in most everything, and that includes overtraining. Several months ago, I ignored all the warning signs from my body (and there were many!) and injured my lower back on a lift. I've had to add my activities back very gradually after a few weeks of total (maddening) rest. This past week or two, I felt like I'd finally broken through it all and I started going full-tilt again. And my lower back, which hasn't even niggled in weeks, started aching.
On Thursday, I powered through the ache to do a heavier-than-usual full-body strength workout, then booked it to a heavy bag class (think "kickboxing" mixed with interval training). This morning I planned to hit a double session in the studio. But I woke up with the back aching and various other parts howling at me.
I knew I shouldn't go. There were, uh, many warning signs. I got up, put on my workout clothes, and ate breakfast.
And then I went for a nice, long walk instead.
I don't know that I would have had another injury. I only know that the "active recovery" day felt great... I had a wonderful day and easily hit my macros within my net cals target... and, most importantly, I listened to my body and treated it well.27 -
My current go to belt is on its last hole. I could've punched a new hole in it but why do that when there are perfectly good belts to be shopped for. My go to places are second hand stores. Was at goodwill and found a ton of high quality belts. I ended up getting 4. Such a great find and won't be needing any belts anytime soon. Plenty of holes before I have to contemplate punching a hole or shopping.9

107 cycle rude from Cardiff to Tenby finished yesterday in winds gusting from the south and west up to 35mph!17

I wore my goal jeans yesterday and my engagement ring, the ring I've not been able to wear for a good 10 years, can't wait until my wedding ring fits again16

About a week ago I decided to get my belly button pierced--something I've been putting off for years until I was "skinny enough." My NSV was loving myself enough to decide to do it just for me, number goals aside. One more pound until I've lost 50 lbs from my highest weight and I'm really starting to love myself!17

My first NSV is that as of today I have NO MORE BINGO ARMS! AKA, nothing shimmys and shakes when I wave good bye or call Bingo
Second NSV is that I started dressing up again- I have been in a funk and not taking very much "me" time, so I decided to start getting back to the old me and hopefully the confidence will come back if I pretend its already there :drinker: :blushing:18 -
My monthly weigh in was disappointing on Friday, so instead I took progress pictures for a visual of how my body has changed since starting MFP. The top pics are from January but weight didn't start to change until I joined MFP at the end of February, so the bottom pics show about 2.5 months' progress (just under 5kg lost on scales but 7kg in total fat lost as I've gained some muscle).
Slowly but surely my waistline is being whittled down!!! Just thinking of how different this will look again in another 2 months' time!
NB - first time posting a pic so please bear with me if I have to edit this post a few times while trying to get it right...

Bit of a strange one but my hubby brought back a bag of Almond M&Ms from America in December and I've managed to make them last 4 months, even though I opened them, I was able to just eat a few at a time then leave the rest for later. Normally they wouldn't make it past a week!!!30

Yeah where is that like button!!! What a wonderful and uplifting thread, it put a big smile on my face and inspired me to do Shred already so thank you all :flowerforyou:
I have had a few NSV. The biggest one was when I was having dinner with my two lovely friends the other day. We were all dieting last year and lost weight though all of us just wanted to lose ASAP. Two of us were low carbing and the other was on a VLCD. Both have put their weight back on (as had I). We went to an Italian and one of my friends was on strict Atkins and us other two ordered pizza. I had planned this treat all week and was looking forward to it. The pizza was divine, I ate just two thirds and was satisfied while my friend ate all hers and then said she may as well have desert as well now she had blown it. I had a skinny cappuccino and secretly congratulated myself for finally realising that this is a life style change. I told my friends I know it could take a year (maybe more!) to get to my goal weight and they looked shocked but I think the way I am approaching this now is sustainable. I lost 9lbs in 4 weeks and although a lot was bloat it is not too shabby
Another NSV is that I am getting my defined hourglass shape back. I am lucky in that I always go in and out but I can see my waist is getting smaller and tighter. I also see my cheekbones reemerging and I can take my fat jeans on and off without undoing them :bigsmile:25 -
New NSV...did real pushups today. Not nose to the ground but solid pushups none the less. I always just drop to me knees but today I decided I could do it. Felt great. Now I just need to get lower but I know I will. Anyone have any other NSV's to brag about?15

My current profile pic is my most recent NSV. When clothes that were skin tight start to become loose...that is the BEST feeling!!21

Threw three large trash bags of fat clothes in my car today gonna go donate them tomorrow.....27

I had gained weight from my usual unsatisfactory weight and I had to shelf a pair of work slacks because they had become way too tight to be appropriate or comfortable. I tired them on today and they fit perfectly, so I wore them to work . So, I've lost the weight i gained and now it's time to continue to a healthy bodyweight. Hopefully I'll need a whole new set of work clothes in September!19

As of now, I don't really have any major NSVs but choosing healthier options (veggies, fruit and water) instead of unhealthy ones (donuts and softdrinks) is a big thing for me. I hope it does count.26

I had veggies instead of steak today. Usually that would upset me a lot, but today I was Not So Violent :bigsmile:15
-
bought my first size medium gym shorts today. was always a 2x.29

I am fitting back into a lot of my old clothes. When things no longer fit right, I always used to throw them out or donate them, but this time around I had kept all of my too-small clothing. I haven't worn some of the stuff in 6 months to a year and now I am fitting back into a lot of it. Only two pairs of pants left to work into11
