When I'm a situation like that I also get hungry superfast if I eat breakfast, no matter what I eat. But I also figures out that, apparently, I get thirsty but think I'm hungry. So usually I make myself a smoothie (blueberries, pineapple, coconut milk, sometimes a few strawberries depending on what I have) and just drink it throughout the day. But the best thing I figure out is that if I also drink at least a couple cups of water before breakfast and lunch, I'm not even hungry for lunch anymore.

Either way eating any sort of dry or on-the-go food would make me hungry again in about 2 hours. Maybe it could help.

I have the same problem really. I typically have breakfast at 7.30am and most days I'm starving by 11am (often hungry by 10am).

The only things that have filled me up until noon lately are protein cheesecake, protein pancakes, or a huge breakfast of (regular) pancakes, eggs and sausage. Nothing else works and I've tried oatmeal, shakes, omelets, you name it... Lately a big bowl of Fage 0% plain yogurt with fresh fruit has helped some, but I still get hungry 3 hours later... Maybe I should add some egg whites on the side or something.

My theory is that we are all different... some of us get hungrier in the morning and need more substantial breakfasts, some don't. Most things mentioned in this thread don't do it for me :( But I'd try a combo of whole grains, meat protein, egg or egg whites, and fruit, see if it helps.

Here are the recipes I've mentioned, if you're interested

Some people actually like breakfast or dont eat past 5 or 6 pm and need food in the am ; I personally hate breakfast and am not going to force feed myself; I snack on celery and pb or carrots and hummus . Also a second cup of coffee with cream helps to perk me up or diet pepsi or water bottle.

You eat breakfast at 5 AM...I think it would be pretty normal to be hungry around 10:30 or so...that's 5.5 hours...traditional lunch at noon would be 7 hours without food...definitely not my cup 'o tea right there. Why not have a mid-morning snack planned into your day? Personally, that's what I would do if I was eating breakfast at 5 AM.

    THIS.

I used to eat until 10pm (and much more food), and it was no problem not to eat until 11am then. Now that I eat less and I'm out of calories earlier, I'm hungry earlier... it makes sense to me.

And you can tell me I should skip it and I'm not 'really hungry' as much as you want - I AM hungry in the morning and I NEED food.

    Sorry... pet peeve of mine!

I totally agree with this. This is my typical breakfast, and it keeps me satisfied and full until lunch:

    6 oz yogurt (low fat)
    1/2 T black chia seeds
    small to medium banana
    1/2 C blackberries
    1/2 C raspberries
    3/4 C bran cereal
    1/2 oz walnuts

    Coffee

This fills up the bowl, I eat it slowly, and I am full. Now I understand that everybody has different needs, but I find that a combination of protein, fiber and fat is the best combination for me. The carbs give me quick energy, and the protein hangs on for the long burn.

2 pieces of Ezekiel bread and I add 1 egg over medium to each piece and top with sriracha. This is my go to breakfast, keeps me full until noon :)

How much are you eating? Things like oatmeal and meat are good satiation foods. I don't know if you can do much better than that. Have you tried just increasing the quantity? I don't know what your daily calorie goal is, or how you have your macros set, but let's say you're aiming for 2,000 calories. You're going almost 6 hours between meals here, so you can have 1/3 of your daily calorie intake at breakfast. That's 670 calories. So you could have:
    - 1 cup of cooked oatmeal
    - 2 large fried eggs
    - 5 ounces of ham
    - two slices of whole wheat toast

That's a pretty big breakfast -- would definitely hold me over for 5.5-6 hours. In fact, if you have a pretty physically active job, you could even consume more than 1/3 of your daily calories at breakfast, and compensate with a lighter dinner.

Being hungry isn't a signal to immediately eat. There's nothing wrong with being hungry for a couple or few hours.

Neither is stopping to get gas as soon as the gas light comes on, but I never want to risk it.

I get irritable when I get too hungry and I can't focus.

My advice is get a protein bar and sneak away to the bathroom and scarf it down ! That's what I do when I have front desk duty at my job.

Try eating a little more in general, like another 100 calories. For example, three eggs in your omelette instead of two. A meal with a reasonable amount of protein should keep you sated for six hours, and if it's not, you need a larger meal.
    Also, are you well hydrated?

Also, this. Mind over matter. Waiting an hour or two is not going to kill you. If you ignore hunger for a little while, the sensation does dull.

English muffin toasted with a tsp of butter, 3 slices deli ham (I get the packaged stuff from Costco), thick slice of tomato, slice of cheese (I use Kraft Singles). Keeps me full until lunch.

Could you make and freeze a green smoothie in a water bottle, take it out in the morning to let it thaw during the first couple of hours of work, and then sip that? Good way to get more fruit and veg into your day.

Not me, I get dizzy and lightheaded and it just gets worse until I eat something (and then my food choice can suffer).

Try adding a little orange or lemon juice to your water. It keeps your blood sugar steady.

If you have a light snack before lunch and drink lots of water you won't be starving anymore and it'll be easier to avoid unhealthy foods when lunchtime comes around.

You could consider taking saffron extract with breakfast. I started taking it and I do find I'm not hungry after taking it.
