Agree completely re sizing. I often wonder if it's because I carry on my thighs, bum and tum as I seem to wear bigger clothes, but my arms and legs are ok. Clearly I'm not big chested as well.... (boo.....)0 -

Hello UK ladies! I was looking at the Marks and Spencer site as they have free delivery to NZ! Is their sizing small, medium or large for the given size? I'm 5ft 7" and 9st 4llb (132) , average to slim build so was thinking of ordering a 10. About right do you think my friends?
I would say a 10 is spot on for average to slim build, I'm the same0 -
I think they cut generously. I tried on a pair of jeans once in a size smaller than usual and when I went shppping with my friend she went two sizes down (although they were stretchy jeans). I think they cut for women rather than young things0

UK sizes a are a size bigger in the UK, so you 10 is a 12 in the UK.
I'm 5'6
SW - 177 lbs ... A tight size 16
CW - 144lbs ... I'm in size 10 top but do have a few size 8's, on the bottom I'm a size 12 but they are starting to get loose now.
GW - I'm not sure, I was at 147 for 6 months but recently startered using weights so may stop at 140lbs but may try for 133lbs and aim for a size 8 on top and size 10 on the bottom, as you can probably tell I'm a pear, I have hips and an *kitten*.0 -

White Company is quite expensive so you'd expect more consistency from them. The usual pattern is cheap shops use loads of different suppliers and change them often, so their sizing is pretty random, and more expensive ones are at least consistent with themselves (so you can buy them on ebay without trying on!). I've read the way it works is the brand decides who their standard target customer is, sets their measurements for a 10 or 12, then bases the other sizes on that. So if they have smaller increments between sizes, everything above a 12 will run small and everything below a 12 will run large.
Anyway, I'm 5'4'', 8st5, and a 6-8 on the bottom and 8-10 on top, depending on where I shop (though have been down to a 4 in skirts/trousers for more generous brands, or up to a 12 for a jacket, and still have a size 14 wrap dress that fits, albeit differently than intended!)0
