I've seen her called even worse than that.

Seriously, there are some real jerks here...

...and interestingly enough, they usually march under an "other people on MFP are mean/rude/jerks" banner.

TL;DR - The rudest, most insulting things I've read on MFP have been posted by people complaining about *other* people being rude.

I can't even think of one thread where I've seen ILHA be rude.
She was totally mean to me... she posted pictures of amazing delicious home-baked treats in the 30-day sweets thread, and they looked so fantastic that I wanted some. SABOTAGE!!!

These threads ALWAYS make me wonder what thread responses prompted the OPs to post a "mean people" thread in the first place.

OP, what was the straw that broke your back? What moral crime did you witness that forced you to start this thread? I would love to know.

People told her to eat bread. Hideous, I know.

I suggested it was a good source of fibre, with essential vitamins.
But it is man-made so that equals bad.

Why does it always have to be made by a man? Why couldn't a woman possibly have made it?!

    Because.

    So...

Would this be a good time to ask the OP out?

    Just don't be a p**ck or rude.

I already got that out of the way on like page 6 or 7.

Now it is time to make the magic happen.

Go for it, would suggest not bringing bread though.

Too late. I wanna join this sammich

Questions invite opinions. There's no way to answer a question without giving an opinion.

    This ^^^

and there is no way to say "You're wrong, and what you're suggesting is stupid and dangerous and setting yourself up for failure" that is guaranteed to not offend anyone.

there are very few rude people on MFP and actually they tend to get called out for it. But there are a lot of blunt people, and it's easy to end up being blunt here because you can write a 1000 word essay trying to say "you're wrong and what you're suggesting is stupid and dangerous and setting yourself up for failure" in a more gentle way, but they still get offended because the person asking the question didn't want to be told they were wrong, so you just end up saving your typing fingers and being blunt.

Unfortunately, people are like this all over the internet these days. You are better off just ignoring the bad ones, don't sink to their level.

After having slept on it and coming to it with fresh new eyes I have to say this "you're rude and I'm so very polite" or "I'm good and they are bad" thing comes across as highly superior somehow.

I post daily quotes on my status for my own amusement mainly and today's is by Shakespeare: "The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool." You can twist it a bit and put rude and bad in there, then maybe consider stepping down from your respective very high horses?

Also, lots of these "holier than thou" comments are posted in such a passive-aggressive way that the writers most likely don't even see what they're doing. So there's no point in confronting them about it.

Someone mentioned their Christianity as a business card for good behaviour and I have nothing against religion, but am wondering what stone you crawled out from; I've read some of the most vile comments ever from people claiming to be good Christians. One thought it nice to call me a swine even. Next time maybe just be who you are and let it speak for itself?

As for the person who checked out on the other page because this thread "is out of control", this is what you wanted. Honest opinions presented in a calm manner. What did you do? Walk out on the discussion because of some bunny gifs. I recommend looking at the woods rather than the individual trees and you might learn new things about yourself in the process.

Have a great day everyone, rude and non-rude people alike!

A kitten (someone was offering them earlier in the thread), a six pack, and a booty call from Ice Man.
