My weight loss is slow. I am only loosing 1 pound a week. Today somebody told me I should eat something within 30 minutes of waking up in the morning. Is this true?0
-
the reason for this method of madness lol is eating smaller portions more frequently speeds up your metabolism which in turn assists in weight loss. Also by eating more frequently your less likely to binge......
Not really.....
My first meal of the day, around 1pm, is usually ~1000 calories, if not more.
Then I still have another 1500 - 2000 calories to eat by 8pm0 -
Have you tried it?
IFer and 5:2 here way of eating for me.....
and.....
I think I'm doing okay0 -
But she gets to eat cake so it all evens out in the end...
Maybe....:grumble: :grumble:
I guess w/ cake she will die happy....
Perhaps we could bury her with her cake...it did kill her after all. :laugh:0 -
Yep I'm gonna die and I'll be eating my cake when I doAnd this is the cake in question
See that....I told you....

ok seriously i have been looking around for those cute little trackers that i see on everyones comments. can anyone tell me how to get one.0

Yes...it will wake up your metabolism. Even if it's just half a banana. Imagine that your metabolism is a camp fire and it goes out when you fall asleep. How do you start it again? Throw on some wood. Every three hours you add more wood to keep that fire burning hot. Your food is the wood. Make sense?
By making nearly this exact statement, the trainer that my wife and I fired lost out on over $20,000 in income ...
She may have used a car engine and gas metaphor, though ... but the "even if it's just half a banana" .. word for word. All this happened when I showed up for a 7:00am Saturday workout on an empty stomach and she refused to train me that morning ...0 -

I suppose it could be true, in the sense that if you are hungry within 30 minutes of waking up, that's when you should eat.
As far as an impact on your weight loss... nope. It doesn't matter.0 -

I do get annoyed with alot of **** people post on here about you can eat crap as long as you keep under your cals etc
You can eat whatever and however you want to eat.
BUT look at the most successful people on this site. Take notice. See who maintains or maintained for a long period of time. Hell, see who has never been overweight and they just use this site to track and stay in check or meet other goals.
I get annoyed with people thinking that when we say "you can eat what you want as long as you are in a deficit" means we are saying, "YEAH! JUST EAT FAST FOOD, ICE CREAM, COOKIES, AND TWIZZLERS ALL DAY LONG AND STAY UNDER CALORIES".
If you really look at the successful people, they eat lots of protein, veggies, fat....THEN they will allow themselves some ice cream. Because we know that eating good foods to fuel our bodies is important. Usually we are eating to fuel some hard workouts.
OR they will budget in a hamburger and fries and eat the rest of the day to account for it.
Those people will also not be eating 1200 calories per day. They will have a moderate calorie deficit because it's sustainable and they will be able to gradually increase intake to maintenance as they get closer.
Please don't misconstrue what the successful people are doing.0 -
No. It comes down to what works for you. I am hypothyroid so I take a pill in the morning and can't really eat for an hour so the pill has time to absorb. Many people intermittent fast and skip breakfast altogether (as well as coffee and other caloric morning drinks).0

I'm not sure I've ever eaten within 30 minutes of waking. I'm lucky if it's 3 hours.
I have to wonder how this misinformation starts. I imagine some meeting of bored nutritionists who get together and come up with stupid things to say to their clients strictly for job security.0 -
