    My Man Godfrey

Oh yeah, speaking of William Powell, I'm assuming you've seen "The Thin Man", but if not... queue it up!

    (You can skip the sequels.)

    Good call...!

Off the top of my head and in no particular order:

    1. Remo Williams: the Adventure Begins
    2. Four Feathers
    3. Iron Giant
    4. The 5th Element
    5. The Man who would be King
    6. 3:10 to Yuma (remake)
    7. Ecstasy of Order (doc. about Tetris)
    8. The Last Starfighter

Which version of Four Feathers? I'm partial to the 1939 version - the Korda brothers knew how to make movies! :)

    Harakiri - (1964)

Devil In A Blue Dress (1995)

    Talk To Me (2007)

    City Of God (2002)

    12 Angry Men (1957)

    Yojimbo (1961)

There are more but I could only remember these at the moment.

Thanks! I was afraid the thread was dead lol! I added the top ones, Talk to Me is one of my all time favs! LOVED City of God, Bought 12 Angry Men the first day it was out on Blu-Ray Criterion!

Just an FYI, they remade Harakiri about 2010 or so and in my opinion the story telling is way better in the original.

    This is the good one.

I was referring to the Heath Ledger version. I've never seen the original. The story is terrific. I'll have to check out the first version.

He's a favourite of mine, although I didn't rate his latest that highly (can't remember name, but you'd never want to fly again after seeing it), it knocked sucks off most things in cinema!

    interstate 60

    very cool

    not a horror film

Just thought I'd say thanks for the suggestion, it was a great film! I would highly recommend for anyone up for a funny slightly odd road trip movie.

high tension. i believe that was a french one, if i remember correctly.
gummo. nothing to say other than very strange
motel hell. low budget horror flick, but it used to crack me up when i was a teen
    dog soldiers. werewolf flick
osa. another one i used to love when i was younger. mad max sort of film
    the stoned age.

Just watched High Tension last night, it was great stuff! I love being able to see the horror genre from another cultures perspective!

OK not obscure yet, but destined to be so:

    Moonrise Kingdom
    The Grand Budapest Hotel

both wes anderson, both quirky, off the wall, ensemble cast (almost the same cast in each movie), both beautifully shot from wacked perspectives, and scripts that are pure poetry.

I haven't gotten to see Moonrise Kingdom yet, but Grand Budapest was excellent

(I have a special place in my heart for campy post-appocalyptic/dystopian movies of yesteryear--mostly 70's and 80's)

    Wizards (Absolutely fantastic)
    A Boy and His Dog
Solarbabies (It's horribly cheesy, but I love it anyway)
    Logan's Run
Mad Max (although, I'm not sure if it's considered obscure or not)
Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior
    Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome
    Soylant Green
    The Omega Man

    Horror movies:

    Susperia
    Zombie
    The House by the Cemetery
Night of the Lepus (hilariously stupid 70's movie proof that bunnies look "giant" in slow motion)
    Dead Alive (comedy/horror)
