My sister tells me I over do it or I shouldn't work out as much...lady you've been thinking I need to lose weight for years.

What annoys me most, actually isn't a comment...the guys at my gym are chatty kathy's with the other guys...hogging power racks while they chat. One actually was watching the gym while sitting on the barbell...I get he was probably on a rest set, but he sat there for a solid 5 minutes and I don't think I ever saw him lift the barbell once.

"You have to do cardio to burn fat."

Says my husband who know 0 about fitness and nutrition!
  • "You don't need to lose THAT much weight. Your just short so yu look smooshed together"
First, thanks for thst smooshed together "compliment" that makes me feel awesome.
Second, I will decide how much I need to and want to lose. When I look in the mirror and am happy with what I see than I will switch to maintaining. It has nothing to do with my height and everything to do with becoming healthy.

"Be careful lifting all that weight, you're gonna hurt your back!"

No I'm F***ing not! YOU are going to hurt YOUR back and probably while lifting something that isn't even heavy because you have bad posture, poor form and no muscular spinal support.

    So, so true!

"Is the Stronglifts routine even meant for girls? Like why are you benching and stuff, girls don't do that."

But I think this dude was just jealous I was lifting more than him.

My biggest pain is when I'm DD'ing for friends and they start pressuring ya to drink... like I can't waste the calories so knock it off already!

The main thing that makes me crazy is food related, not exercise related. When we have birthday celebrations here (once a month) and we have cake, some of my coworkers will literally scrape the frosting off from my cake because I am "one a diet", according to them. I told them that I am fully aware of what I can and cannot eat and don't need them to a. police my food or b. make a big deal about it in front of all of the other employees. Seriously, I've lost the weight all by myself, I don't need anyone telling me what I can and cannot eat.

    um.

    I can't.
I HATE when people touch my food. Unless you area close personal friend (there are about 3-5 people who qualify- so if we are at work- odds are it's not you) that I allow to just touch my food.

I don't mind OFFERING- or sharing. But to just touch/alter/invite themselves on to my plate- I'd hand them the cake and say- you touched it- it's yours- and thanks for offering to go get me another untainted piece.

From my ex: "You need to stop weight training you'll end up looking like a man and it won't be attractive, to me or to anyone else"
    You're my ex for a reason :)

From my parents: "Why don't you try doing whatever your sisters doing"
Yeah I wouldn't be able to survive eating under 1000 cals a day. I'd be a raging b**** just like her. Thanks but no thanks!

Friends: "You shouldn't do the elliptical it's mind-numbing and repetitive. Outdoor running is where it's at"
Yeah I have degenerative disc disease and permanent nerve damage. I'll stick to the low impact option that is very obviously working out for me. :)

Friends: "I just ordered this tea tox and waist cincher. It cost $200 but they had great reviews. You should try it."
No thanks. The green tea I make at home has the same benefits and only cost me a buck. And I'm sure the waist cincher looks great while you're wearing it. Then as soon as it's off all the rolls spill back out. Doesn't sound like a permanent fix to me and I'm looking for something more realistic. Like, y'know, calories in, calories out.

Friends/Family: "Maybe you want to rethink that (insert dessert/pastry/snack/anything that isn't low calorie, here)"
IIFYM, silly. (Yes i've said this to someone)

Friends: "Ugh you go to planet fitness? Don't they serve pizza there????"
Yeah they do, once a month. Surprise surprise I've still managed to lose 70 lbs! It's a little something called self control. Also don't you eat pizza at home? The only difference between eating it at home and eating it at PF is it's free!

If you eat the donut, then they won't feel so bad about eating a donut. I hate that. If I ate everything that everyone offered, I'd be dead.
    I get told this everyday...

"You don't need to workout, you are already skinny"

-- I want to punch people in the throat when I hear this.... I don't workout to get skinny. I workout to stay fit and to be healthy.

"Why are you working out, you don't need to lose weight"

-- Yup, throat punch again... Just because someone is working out doesn't mean they are doing it to lose weight!

"Just one donut isn't going to kill your diet"

-- Maybe so, but I don't need someone trying to shove office donuts down my throat because they think I need one. If I want one, I will have one... simple as that!

More diet related, and a recent one too:

"I don't think you're eating enough, and you're getting too thin. It'd be different if you were all muscle, but you're not."

Straight through the heart. I'm still trying to recover from that one.

So harsh, and totally incorrect, you look amazing.

My father-in-law: "Are you still on that diet?"
Me: "It's not a diet. It's a lifestyle change and, yes, I'm still doing it."

Then he laughs his *kitten* off thinking I said the funniest thing ever. I might add that the man is pushing 400lbs and has to walk with a cane because his knees are shot from carrying around that weight.

ughhhh the worst, I hate it when people say are you on a diet?? Diet is the worst word I think, EVERYONE is on a diet, its what type of diet you choose to go with...healthy one for me! Just becaue I choose not to have a donut shouldnt make someone have to ask are you on a diet? drives me nuts...no I'd rather not put crap in my body.

"So how did you lose all of that weight?"

    "eating right and exercise."

"Oh, never mind then. But I eat healthy. This buttermilk is organic from Trader Joes."
