    Another long cold day in the saddle. but I'm officially spent!! Rest day for tomorrow that's for sure

    Met both of my goals of 800 miles and 50,000ft climbing. So with ten days still to go this month I'm going to push my targets out 1,100 miles and 65,000ft climbing :-)

    7/5 - 2.6 miles at 9.9mph.
    7/7 - 0.8 miles slowly.
    7/9 - 3.0 miles at 10.2mph listening to Cheap Trick on the Walkman (external speakers - not earbuds).
    7/12 - 3.0 miles at 10.6mph listening to the Go-Gos.
    7/14 - 1.0 miles at 8mph.
    7/16 - 2.8 miles at 10.5mph.
    7/19 - 5.5 miles at 10.0mph listening to The Mavericks. Pretty sad that I'm excited to be on pace to get 30 miles for the month, but it's been a sickly month. And I AM excited to be on pace to get to 30 miles this month.
    7/20 - 2.0 miles at 7.5mph listening to the newest Black Keys album.

    Thank goodness! Everyone's talking 200-400 miles and I think a 10 mile ride is a pretty good effort.

    We're all different. Five miles is really really good for me because I'm sick. The trick is to realize you're not competing here. You're getting encouragement. I'm not intimidated by the athletes. I just sit back and admire their abilities. My best month last year was 122 miles. And I should never push myself that hard again. I met my weight goal last year so that helps. I need to make sure I stay under 5 miles/ride for my own health reasons. But I sure love seeing all of the posts with big miles and big climbs.

    July 12: 16 miles (Wine stop half way in the ride. Plan was 25 miles but wine trumped additional miles but it was worth it.)

    Just agreeing with these folks. It isn't a competition. It's kinda like lifting "heavy". What's heavy for me may not be heavy for you and vice versa :) You are doing fantastic!

    Didn't quite make my intended 400 miles last month, life got in the way. I am away for a week this month so I'm going to drop my goal to 350 and see how I go.

    2nd June: 26.09 miles
    3rd June: 23.37 miles
    4th June: 40.56 miles
    5th June: 14.75 miles
    Away for 5 days without the bike :-( missed it dreadfully
    12th June: 25.25 miles
    12th June: 3.6 miles
    13th June: 3.6 miles
