Jock Itch

This is the worst advise ever. All you're doing by shaving is providing holes in your skin for increased risk of infection. It will get worse if you shave. The thought that you will sweat less if you have less hair, perhaps marginally, but not worth the risk.lol gotta love all the fungus comments, dude shave your balls. Its the hair that does it. Less hair = Less sweat...... Works a treat, just mind and stay on top of it. also nothing says I love you more than pulling a pube out your teeth :-D
Women should take note as well, Shaved is always better than the amazon and if you cant shave at least trim for god sake, that fur burger just isn't sexy!!!!
However if you get a burning when you piss, find a Doctor ASAP, Ive been looking for his number so I can have it as a just in case but I cant find a listing for a Dr ASAP anywhere in my area! Just my luck :-P1 -
Never once in my life have I had any sort of itch down below.
I keep it clean. Keep it trim and wear compression shorts.
edit: holy hell, this thread is from 2011...1 -
well if you're gonna necro a 3 year old thread, make sure it's one about jock itch.
My work is done.

unscented deodorant will keep the moisture away and help the tight clothing from chaffing so bad. Try it and see0

Gentlemen you are not the only ones that get jock itch except the ladies get it under their boobs. Slimy, itchy, red skin. What works for the ladies (at least this lady) is to wash well, dry thoroughly, use anti fungal creams if it is present and corn starch if not, which absorbs better than talc or baby powder. Also, your underwear for daily wear should not be synthetic but 100% cotton and never wear them 2 days in a row (workout wear should also be something absorbent). All cotton bras are hard to find but I have one from my first bout with the fungus.0

Sounds miserable! Get some tea tree oil. Put some into your hands and apply in that area. It will feel intense, but not painful at all. http://www.livestrong.com/article/506742-how-to-use-tea-tree-oil-for-jock-itch/
ETA I have used tea tree to CURE both ring worm on my kids and a toe nail fungus on my foot. It works fast and thoroughly.0 -
OMG!!! I had so much fun reading all of this!!! LOL1

If anti-fungal creams arent doing it, its very likely that it could be bacterial. Id suggest seeing a doc and getting some antibiotics.0

Unfortunately, tea tree oil burns my skin no matter how small an amount or what it is diluted into so I can't use it.0 -

Sounds like you need to air that junk out more. I've only had it once or twice.1

Yup. Air the junk = sleep nude. Sleeping in the buff has a bunch of other health benefits too apparently.
Stumbled across this thread by accident because of my screenname. It has been *excellent* entertainment!! The GIFs made the thread bump-worthy, IMHO. Hope the OP found a solution for his Jock Itch after all this time, haha.

If it's truly jock itch, it's a fungus and will look kind of like scales and they can peel off an whatnot and sometime bleed a little...use an anti fungal ointment like Lotrimin.
If it's just a case of swamp *kitten* making you itch use some Gold Bond spray powder.0 -

So I have been fighting jock itch since I started working out. It just won't go away. I shower at the gym right after my workout, and daily when I don't work out. I have used sprays, powders and creams, they help for a short time but it always comes back.
So what do you guys do that makes it go away? Is it just part of my new life?
Tired of scratching,
jake
