Do large Breasts affect Self-Esteem?

I think for women with larger breast (me included) we can love them, leave them, or don't care (me). Women with smaller breast that cannot fill out a regular size cup tend to have societies view of "big boobs" pushed on them even if they are happy with themselves. Hence the increase in implants to feel more comfortable and fit into clothes "better". Some women with small breast don't care either and love themselves. It all comes down to confidence and being happy with what you have no matter the cup size. We usually loose breast size because the body rids fat and we cant tell it where unfortunately.
And I like a lot of clothes that I can never, ever wear. :-(
Me too!!!0 -
Anywho, personally, I like big boobs. I'm sad that mine shrank, so I'll be buying new ones in the next year or two. That will make me happier.0

Ah I love those things.0 -
Oh and forget actual running. Just not safe.0

I have large breasts but wear appropriate attire. If a woman with large breasts is wearing a skimpy top and a bra that is 2 sizes too small, of course people are going to stare at her breasts- male or female.
I wore a bra that was much more than two sizes too small for years because I didn't know any better, and I know plenty of young girls and women who dress the way they do because it's the only thing they are familiar with.
I followed the directions on this site and found out I am a 34G. Was doubtful, but bought a bikini online and it actually fits. I didn't get breasts until I was pregnant with my son at 24. It was shocking to say the least. Also, they have not gone down with weight loss. The tech who performed my mammogram said they are more tissue than fat, that is why.
Anyway, here's the site... http://brittanyherself.com/2014/02/05/happy-boobs/
34G?? Okay, I know the basics of sizes for buying the wrong sizes for my wife over the years (I now know she's a 36C). The 34 is the inches measured around the torso just under the breasts, and the letter is the cup size, right? G? I know of DD's, heard rumors of E's, but we're past F to G? As a red blooded guy, I want to sit here and just let me jaw drop to the floor, but there's a question nagging me and keeping me from doing that. Do you have back problems?
Yeah, actually I do. And I have grooves in my shoulders from bra straps digging in. I am also more on the petite size, 5'3" and 134lbs...so I look disproportionate.
32 G here sista and 5'9. I feel your pain, literally.0 -
When I had large breasts I had low self esteem, so yes.
^^^this
This is my true goal to get rid of them.0 -
Honestly I really do feel for large breasted women. The stereotypes they have to face are ridiculous.
Average sized girl wears a tank top, cool. Large breasted woman wears a tank top, she'll get called a slut to her face. For something completely beyond her control. Other people sexualize breasts and then put that on someone else.
They are a collection of fatty tissue. They say nothing about a person. And what a dumb thing to judge someone for.
Um, I was a ballerina, so good posture; and I have large breasts so they're there and there isn't much I can do about it ... And I was NOT wearing anything tight or low-cut, either.
But, whatever, it wasn't the right place for me clearly.
I got hired at my very first job because of my breast size (Blockbuster Video, nothing filthy)...and I only say that because the manager told me after the fact. It was degrading to hear.... My mom ALWAYS told me to sit up straight because slouchers looked like slobs...so I always had them pushed out...not intentionally, but because it was how I was taught to carry myself.
I had D's by the time I hit high school, DD's by graduation, and G's since my first child...there's not much you can do about it outside of surgery, so I live with it...but some days I wish I had cute little perky ones that could go out in the world braless. :grumble:0 -

^^^That makes a huge difference. At 5'8", it looks pretty proportional on me and I don't have any real back or shoulder problems.0 -

Naw. No offense but if I wanted bigger ones made out of 'people bits' I'd just put weight back on.0 -

No worries... just thought I would offer... because they are annoying to me as hell...0 -
Ok, I'm going to answer honestly, mine didn't show up until well in to high school by which point I was already a well established nerd girl with a big mouth so I can honestly say I've never once felt objectified because of the size of my chest. Guys that were my friends weren't stupid enough to be obvious about it and the rest of the guys at school tended to run away from me anyways  (I might have had a bit of an attitude problem).
I have however seen the effects it can have on women, especially when they start getting attention at a very young age, it's ROUGH, and yes, it can have a very negative impact on self esteem, especially if parents etc. are not providing a strong positive influence to counteract.
Agreed. I studied this in one of my psych research courses and found that young girls who "develop" at a faster rate than others can receive a lot of negative or unwanted attention (especially from older boys). It can certainly affect their self-esteem tremendously.0 -
Since April I've lost about ten pounds. My boobs have grown two inches. I hate them with all of my being. I still look fat because I have such large breasts. I'm going to get a breast reduction when I stabilize my weight. I seriously hate them so much0

i am an 42 I/J depending on the style and cut of a bra.. I have chronic neck and back pain...big tits are not always fun to have. Id be happier with a nce full C or D .... They are a pain and it's a pain to find good bras.0

My biggest complaint at the moment is that I can't buy tops that fit my body AND my boobs at the same time. If it fits my mid-section, it's too tight on my boobs...if it fits my boobs, it's too large on my mid-section.
Pain in the *kitten*.0 -

I often hear this but I have to say it was never a sentiment I shared. When I was heavier and my boobs were bigger I loved them. The thing I hated most about losing weight was the way my boobs shrank on me (I'm a 32DDD now.) But I also wear what I want, as I see fit, and that also seems to be a big complaint.
But anyway. Checking in to represent for ladies with big boobs or have had big boobs and loved them.0 -

I don't know how tall you are, but I'm 5'1.5" (yup half inches count here)... and even at my weight... nothing fits right with my 34DD's... I can never find cute dresses that fit me properly, let alone shirts... even in a correct bra it's awkward. After I'm done having kids, I totally plan on taking them down a notch... or 4.
ETA: I don't hate them... I just don't love them.0 -

Agreed. And forget dresses...I only have a few, usually made of more stretchy material and they do showcase cleavage. If I wanted a dress for church, I need to go with a top and skirt combo. And not button down.0 -

The only other complaint I have about big boobs is how clothes look. A smaller chested girl wears a shirt and it looks cute...I wear the same shirt and it looks slutty. It sucks. Am I just supposed to wear a turtleneck year round? Lol0

I will say just because it's here in and I can.
The one and only bad thing about a large chest, is no matter how small you are.. you never feel like you look it because there these things right in front of your face ALL THE TIME.
Oh yes, this. ^^^^0 -

For dresses, at least in summer, check out Burlington Coat Factory or TJ Maxx. They stock up on really cute sundresses that have good coverage.0 -

most societies aren't equipped to help instill self-esteem in any woman, regardless of breast size but that's a whole other topic.
but anyway, the grass is always greener. for various reasons i wont go into women in western societies tend to be socialized to hate their bodies.0 -

5'3", so not much taller than you. I have a much harder time finding pants that will go over my butt but not have a huge pocket of space around my waist than I do with dresses, honestly. Dresses are honestly my favorite thing because I don't have to worry about the waist gap.0 -
TIL, there are cup sizes I never knew were possible.0

I've always been told that I have the hips that go with them so it's never bothered me that much but yeah...I'm a 34 C now and I can't wear some things because they are not perky... that's my biggest issue. And it would be nice not to always wear a bra.0
